Chapter 37 - Takeshi VS Alazam

Everyone was startled by what Takeshi said.

Kill?!

This is a legendary Dragon!

A single Dragon could destroy a nation. They used to think that was an exaggeration, but after witnessing it firsthand today, they realized it wasn't an exaggeration, it was a fact.

Alazam still watched Takeshi with interest, completely unconcerned by what he had said.

Many humans are incompetent braggarts. In his opinion, these words were just the impotent barks of insects.

Takeshi looked at Alazam and calmly asked, "So... when are you going to put down my client?"

Hearing this, Alazam's lips curled slightly, and he clasped Reno's neck with his right hand, lifting him high.

He looked at Takeshi playfully and said, "If you have the ability, then come and get him yourself."

"Since that's the case, I won't be polite."

Takeshi slowly drew his sword and then stepped towards Alazam.

Alazam had already planned out the next scene. He would let this human attack him, make him understand the vast difference between humans and Dragons, and then, right in front of him, crush this King like an ant.

Yes, that's what he would do. Humans are, after all, like ants to Dragons.

Takeshi soon reached Alazam and casually swung his sword towards his wrist. His speed was neither fast nor slow, just like the most ordinary sword swing.

Alazam didn't care at all. What kind of damage could such a slow swing cause?

But just as Takeshi's blade touched his skin, he suddenly felt his hair stand on end and he instinctively sensed a terrifying danger.

He immediately let go of Reno and rapidly retreated, his feet sliding dozens of meters on the ground to put distance between himself and Takeshi.

At the same time, his eyes reverted to beast-like vertical pupils, staring intently at Takeshi, as if he had seen some dangerous individual.

"What?!"

"What happened?!"

"That monster actually retreated?!"

"He didn't even dodge Arthur's strongest ultimate move just now, yet he was scared into retreating by that unremarkable slash?!"

Everyone who saw this scene was somewhat incredulous. After all, they had just seen how terrifying Alazam's defense was. The attacks from the King, Arthur, Clay, and Erza had caused no damage to him.

They even thought that humans couldn't cause any harm to Dragons, but then, he retreated in the face of Takeshi's attack. Moreover, judging by his wary demeanor, he clearly sensed danger.

"What a pity." Takeshi shook his head.

He had tried his best to suppress all his killing intent, but a Dragon was indeed a Dragon, his instinct to detect danger was extraordinary.

If he hadn't retreated just now, he could have chopped off one of his claws.

"You..."

Alazam's eyes no longer held a playful look. Instead, he stared at Takeshi with the gaze one would reserve for an enemy.

Takeshi ignored him and instead looked at the somewhat bewildered Reno, asking, "Your Majesty, are you alright?"

Reno finally came back to his senses. "I... I'm alright."

"That's good. If you're alright, please return to the city. I'll take care of this fellow."

Reno wanted to say something else, but it clearly wasn't the right time to speak.

"Alright. I'll leave everything to you."

After speaking, he loudly gave the order, "Everyone! Retreat to the city!!!"

Hearing his command, everyone helped the injured and quickly retreated into the city.

They knew that they couldn't help at all here, and might even hinder Takeshi. To avoid affecting Takeshi, retreating into the city was the best option.

Alazam sneered, "What's the use of retreating? These city walls are no different from paper to a Dragon."

"And you, human boy, do you want to be a hero?"

Takeshi calmly said, "A hero? I've already been a hero, so what's the harm in being one again?"

"Interesting. When you die, everyone behind you will die too."

"Is that so? Well, there's nothing I can do then. After all, I've tried my best. Perhaps this is fate!"

"In that case, go die."

Alazam swung his claw, and five massive slashes flew towards Takeshi. The ground where the slashes passed was scraped away like tofu.

Takeshi tapped his foot, dodging the attack.

Boom... Boom...

The slashes hit the city wall, and the hundred-meter-high wall, which had withstood countless years of wind, frost, and monster attacks, shattered like tofu.

The slashes did not stop after destroying the city wall, but continued forward. In a blink of an eye, they traversed the entire city, only stopping after destroying the wall on the other side.

"The city... has been cut open!"

Everyone looked in horror at the city torn in half, shock and fear uncontrollably spreading in their hearts.

Such immense power, such terrifying destructive force...

Could humans truly contend with such a creature?

Takeshi reprimanded, "Hey! Fight if you want, but don't destroy other people's property. This is a house someone saved up for half their life and then took out a loan to buy. You just destroyed it like that, didn't they work hard for half their life for nothing?"

"..."

Everyone on the city wall felt speechless hearing this. This wasn't the time to talk about houses.

"Ah? My apologies. But who told these things to be so fragile? Don't worry though. I'll kill them all, so they won't have the pressure of a mortgage anymore."

As Alazam spoke these words, he sneered and stomped his foot, charging towards Takeshi.

His claw swung at Takeshi. If this attack connected, this human would be torn to shreds.

Sun Breathing: Fourth Form: Fake Rainbow!

Whoosh!

Alazam's claw swept past Takeshi's body.

The sensation of not hitting anything slightly stunned him. He had seen with his own eyes that his attack had hit, yet it was an illusion. Even with his Dragon vision, he hadn't noticed when this human had dodged.

Takeshi's body appeared at Alazam's side. He unleashed an arc-shaped slash towards Alazam's neck.

Alazam's expression changed, and he quickly raised his arm to block.

"Waaahhh!!!"

Blood splattered, and Alazam let out a scream, his entire body sent flying backward.

Boom... Boom...

Alazam's body crashed through tree after tree, finally stopping when he hit a giant tree.
