Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Olivia's Talent! A Strange Guest

"I don't know, but killing a knight from the Martin family, he's definitely not going to be unknown in the future."

"So does that mean we just witnessed the birth of a legend?"

"Hey man, you didn't say that before. You said Lucian was just some nobody, someone Tom could crush with one hand."

"Oh no, did I just look down on him? But what do we do with the body? It's not cool to just leave it here, right?"

"Report it up, since it's about the Martin family, what else can we do? But if the Martin family gets angry, the whole empire would shake. This knight named Lucian might have some trouble in the future, that's for sure."

Everyone was talking, but all the conversation was about that one hit from Lucian-light as a feather, but full of deadly danger.

In the shadow of the crowd, a young woman with a hood on, hiding her pointed ears under her long hair, was watching the direction Lucian left, and started to whisper to herself.

"Lucian? Such a strong knight! If it's him, he should be able to help me."

On the other side.

Lucian had no idea what people were saying about him. Right now, he was already on his way back, getting close to the Becker estate in Frostspire City.

Killing Tom wasn't a sudden, impulsive decision. It was something he had thought through and planned carefully.

You know what they say,no problem is worse than a problem that keeps coming back. He and Tom had been enemies for a long time. Now, Lucian wasn't alone. If Tom took advantage of him and hurt his family or his children, that would be a real problem.

His children weren't just blood-related, they were also his source of power. Emotionally and logically, he had to protect them. But he couldn't be with them all the time, acting like a babysitter. That wasn't realistic.

Killing Tom would solve most of the problems, and stop him from talking all the time. It was a two-fer, really smart.

As for the Martin family, Lucian had thought about that too. The Martin family was a huge power. People like Tom were just the lower-tier members of the family, high and mighty in the eyes of normal people.

But to Lucian, he knew Tom's type. The Martin family wouldn't go after him for revenge, because this knight fight was Tom's own idea. He hadn't even fought yet.

The Martin family would try to keep this quiet. If it got out, it would just be a joke for others. Why would they go after Lucian for such a weak guy?

That was why Lucian did it. Even knights had to make sure the problem was fully gone.

After returning home.

Olivia stumbled over and hugged Lucian, rubbing her face against him, making sounds in a language Lucian didn't understand, like she was saying how much she missed him.

Grace smiled and walked over: "Olivia's been missing you a lot. She keeps looking outside, hoping you're back."

She gave Olivia a little annoyed look. "She's always with me, but she's always the most attached to you. I don't know what she's thinking."

Seeing the slight jealousy in his wife's eyes, Lucian smiled and pulled her into his arms. "So, have you missed me, Grace?"

Grace blushed instantly. "Mr. Lucian."

Even though she was a mother now, Grace was still basically a young woman, and talking about this kind of thing made her a little embarrassed. She just looked down, but her blue, sparkling eyes said everything.

"Since I'm back, Miss Grace, one night of love is worth a thousand gold."

With that, Lucian waved his hand, telling the servants to take Olivia out and take care of her. Then he picked up Grace and carried her back to their bedroom.

"OH, be gentle, Mr. Lucian, slow down."

The romantic atmosphere filled the air.

Olivia didn't understand why her dad just looked at her for a second and then left. Her little brain couldn't handle all the thoughts.

But instinctively, she crossed her arms and turned her head away in displeasure.

Several months passed.

Because of magic, the people of the Aerilane continent had stronger bodies than people on Earth.

Olivia could already walk, even if it was a little wobbly and she still needed to hold on to someone. But it was clearly a big improvement.

More than that, her body was slowly starting to accept magic, unconsciously absorbing it. That was a big deal for a baby. With the help of magic, their bodies became stronger and their minds more intelligent than other kids of the same age.

Magic was the base of the Aerilane continent.

Every non-warrior super job used magic. They just converted it into energy they could use. For example, knights used The Knight's Soul to turn magic into knight's aura. But at the end of the day, it was still just a form of magic.

Olivia absorbed magic without even trying, even just a tiny bit. That was a huge advantage for her future. She could gather The Knight's Soul faster, and she'd be better at using knight's aura than Lucian.

"This is what a 6-stage talent is like? Amazing, it's so cool."

Lucian laughed and shook his head. The better his daughter's talent was, the more power he could use. For him, that was actually a good thing.

Another good thing was that, after several months of hard work, Grace's stomach had started to show signs of life again. It wasn't a waste of Lucian's endless nights of "cultivation."

But this also forced Lucian to bring up the issue of taking another wife-legitimately and officially.

Grace was just one woman, and her efficiency was still too low.

Although the idea of "efficiency" when it came to having kids was a bit strange, that was just how the Gift of the Breeder worked. The more wives Lucian had, the stronger he became.

He needed to not only have good-quality children, but also have as many as possible.

Just Grace alone wouldn't be enough. She wasn't a pig, capable of giving birth to ten or more in one go. Even a set of twins or triplets was the most she could hope for, and that was all luck.

Only by finding a new wife could he relieve Grace's burden. It wasn't fair to let her carry the whole weight alone.

But the strict physical and appearance requirements of the Gift of the Breeder made it impossible for Lucian to become a mere stallion, spreading his seed everywhere. This was a real problem.

And that's when one of the servants suddenly came to report: a strange guest had arrived at the Becker estate.

On the other side of the estate, hidden in the shadows near the manor, Margarethe Zelle removed her hood. She bit her lip and made her decision.

She had been watching Lucian for months, and had finally come to a conclusion: Lucian was a knight worth trusting. If it was him, he would definitely be able to help her complete that task.

Plus, time was running out. She couldn't afford to keep watching. Even if Lucian was faking it, this last lifeline at the edge of the cliff had to be grabbed.

Her sister was not going to hold on much longer.

So, she stopped using her shadow magic, and walked up to the front gate of the Becker estate. She knocked on the door, which wasn't overly fancy, but was very clean.

The servant opened the door, heard her request, and led Margarethe to the reception hall. There, she finally met the man she had been watching for so long-the master of the Becker estate.

Lucian Becker.

But to her surprise, Lucian didn't ask her why she had come. Instead, he looked at her with interest and asked, "Madam, are you an elf?"
