Chapter 43 - GWPF Chapter 44: Dragon's Justice, Cosmic Wanderlust

"My heart and actions are as clear as a mirror, and everything I do is for justice..."

Muttering this phrase, Neuvillette looked at Momoshiki with a strange expression, glancing at the mysterious large tree nearby.

Was this what they called justice?

"Alright, there's nothing else to say."

Ignoring Neuvillette's strange gaze, Momoshiki opened a portal using the system space.

"In your view, the only way to return the ancient dragon's authority is to destroy the divine throne, but I have other methods."

"As expected," Focalors smiled and clapped, delighted, "Truly worthy of an existence from outside this world."

"Please skip the boring emotional drama. Come with me."

Leaving this sentence, Momoshiki directly entered the portal, arriving at that familiar deserted corner.

He then casually opened another Yomotsu Hirasaka, returning to the room of the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale's core.

After coming out, Momoshiki inexplicably felt his head swelling, so he reached out and rubbed his temples.

How strange. Ever since his power had gradually grown stronger, not only were many of Momoshiki's memories gradually resurfacing, but his personality was also subtly changing.

The quiet, un-angered personality he had developed as a background character in school was now feeling impatient repeatedly.

He was usually normal, but these situations occasionally occurred.

Was this a change in his state of mind brought about by the increase in power, or was Momoshiki merging with his own soul?

He couldn't figure it out...

"What's wrong, Momoshiki? Are you feeling unwell?"

Seeing Momoshiki rubbing his temples, Furina asked with some concern.

"It's nothing, just remembered something."

Momoshiki deflected the topic with a vague answer.

Originally, the extra memories he gained when he became a young Otsutsuki were just Momoshiki's memories in the ninja world, dispensable.

But now he suddenly remembered a certain unknown planet, with a Divine Tree planted by who-knows-who, which had been abandoned. He went down to collect the fruit, and incidentally destroyed the civilization on that planet that relied on chakra to advance its technology.

Of course, this must have happened in the past.

Thinking this, the system was quite humane, knowing that his mortal body couldn't withstand thousands of years of memories and personality, choosing to return them little by little in a blurred state.

It didn't let him directly become a certain "Shiki."

As he was musing, Neuvillette and Focalors also arrived.

"Is this where you've been for five hundred years?"

Neuvillette looked around, taking in every detail.

The conclusion he ultimately reached in his heart was that, apart from some novel high-tech or elemental energy, everything else was a feeling of oppression.

Lonely silence filled the entire room, with only the sound of machines occasionally breaking through.

It was no wonder Focalors left the Archon's mental fortitude to herself. If it were an ordinary person, they would probably have gone mad after a month, let alone five hundred years.

In this regard, Neuvillette felt inferior.

Five hundred consecutive years without tasting water, without feeling rain, and without even seeing a Melusine, he probably wouldn't be able to bear it.

"That's right."

Focalors seemed to be used to these things, so she didn't care much about other people's opinions.

"Hmph..."

Neuvillette was silent for a moment.

The sky above Fontaine became gloomy, as if it was about to rain, causing some old men to suddenly suffer from arthritis, sitting on benches, slapping their knees and groaning incessantly.

In front of the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale's core, Momoshiki's red Rinnegan in both palms reappeared, pressing against the core, feeling Focalors' divine power and residual true body within.

"Momoshiki, are you going to use that Takami-Musubi?" Furina asked curiously.

According to Momoshiki, Takami-Musubi could absorb all energy and amplify it tenfold.

That would be ten times the other half of the ancient dragon's authority?!

Thinking of this, Furina was secretly surprised.

If this was the way to solve it, then indeed no sacrifice was needed.

No wonder Momoshiki said he had something to gain!

Just as Furina understood, Momoshiki also began to absorb and amplify.

Non-chakra things could only enhance his own hard power or abilities, or amplify and return them, but couldn't obtain the power they represented.

For the blessing of a tenfold Aeon projection and hundreds of stars, tenfold half of the ancient dragon's authority was just a drop in the bucket, not very useful.

But it was better than nothing. Occasionally, he could even mold a bit of the ancient dragon's authority into water to play with a water gun, and with the high temperature of the stars, it instantly turned into scalding hot water to splash people.

It seemed useless, but in fact, it was indeed useless.

He couldn't possibly flood a few cities and then cook them with high temperatures, could he? Wouldn't that make him like a certain butcher?

Another day of working for free.

Momoshiki is helpless.jpg

In a few seconds, the ancient dragon's authority sealed by the divine throne was completely devoured, and even the power maintaining the ancient dragon's authority was not spared.

It was like finishing a meal and then gnawing on the dishes.

Due to the disappearance of her power, Focalors' true body gradually became illusory.

However, since her consciousness was in a brand new body, even if her true body completely disappeared, there would be no problem. It was all just a trade-in.

"The ancient dragon's authority has been devoured?"

Neuvillette was slightly stunned, unable to figure out what trick Momoshiki was playing for a moment.

Focalors, however, seemed to understand something.

After all, that red eye growing in his palm could spit out energy and control its shape at will, which was equivalent to a conceptual transfer.

She needed to destroy her divine throne to transfer this energy, but Momoshiki only needed to move his hand. It was truly cheating.

"That's right, it was devoured by me."

Momoshiki looked at the Rinnegan in his palm, waiting for it to happily digest and absorb, and then tenfold half of the ancient dragon's authority surged into his body.

As expected, it was about five planets' worth of compressed energy, not a significant increase.

"This ability is called Devour and Transfer. So, are you ready to receive the power that belongs to you?"

The scarlet Rinnegan aimed directly at Neuvillette, and then that half of the ancient dragon's authority directly turned into countless streams of light, surging into his body.

"Uh..."

Because the power surged in too violently, Neuvillette couldn't adapt for a moment, and his blood vessels swelled, emitting a blue light.

His whole body was like he had taken a regeneration potion, light blue lines covered his entire body, his expression slightly pained, he couldn't stand steadily, and even his pupils emitted dazzling blue light.

Fortunately, the power in his body quickly intertwined with the newly surging power, adapting and merging with each other, gradually alleviating this painful feeling.

"Neuvillette, are you okay?"

Looking at Neuvillette's somewhat pained appearance, Furina was a little nervous.

This was too similar to how Momoshiki suddenly shared power with her. The momentary sense of rejection was like the pain of tearing flesh.

"Huff... huff... I'm fine."

Neuvillette gasped for breath, his right hand covering his chest, and the overflowing Hydro elements condensed into tiny water droplets on the surface of his body, which he took as sweat.

Compared to the pain on the surface of his body, the internal pain was more intense.

But besides these, there was a continuous surge of power, endless, constantly strengthening him, as if there was no end.

As his power grew stronger, the pain rapidly decreased. Before long, only the comfortable feeling brought by becoming stronger remained, and his swollen blood vessels returned to normal, the blue linear patterns disappearing.

"Good, the fusion is perfect," Momoshiki nodded with satisfaction.

"Now you lack nothing, and it's time to end this boring prophecy."

"The prophecy..."

Neuvillette, who had just finished fusing with the power, was still a little dazed, but after a moment, he recovered and familiarized himself with the power in his body.

"I am a complete dragon...?"

Every bit of power in his body seemed to be responding to him, and all the water in Fontaine seemed to be magically connected.

It felt as if he could flip the entire ocean with just a flick of his finger.

Was this the feeling of complete ancient dragon authority?

As he lowered his head to feel it, something suddenly came to mind.

Right! There was still the prophecy to deal with!

"How should I conduct the judgment?" Neuvillette eagerly asked Focalors.

Now he inexplicably felt a surge of confidence, as if he could easily resolve the entire prophecy crisis.

"No rush."

Focalors gently shook her head, "This is a judgment concerning the fate of Fontaine, so it will naturally be carried out at the turning point of fate, that is, the moment the prophecy is about to happen."

"When the sea rises to a critical point, that will be the time to turn a new page and rewrite everything."

To put it bluntly, it was the opportunity for the big whale to show its head.

Momoshiki's lips twitched slightly twice, a little unclear why she had to say it so complicatedly.

Using the ultimate power of justice brought by the judgment to defeat the big whale that was happily eating, that was the so-called turning point of fate.

After all, the crisis of Fontaine's demise was nothing more than a certain whale wanting to have a meal.

It had even only tasted the jam on the bread.

It really was true to the saying, what does your destruction have to do with you?

"Okay."

Although Neuvillette didn't quite understand, he now fully trusted Focalors, but he still felt a little emotional.

He didn't expect a dramatic national crisis to ultimately end in such a dramatic way.

Thinking of this, Neuvillette suddenly remembered something again, and asked Focalors in confusion, "Then where will you go next? Do you want to work in the Court of Fontaine?"

"Although you may not be very familiar with the current era, with your abilities, I believe you will be able to handle many troublesome things after learning."

"No, I don't think so."

As expected, Focalors shook her head, refusing Neuvillette's kind offer.

What a joke, who would work if they could slack off?

"Then you...?"

"I want to see the current Fontaine, to truly feel its changes over these five hundred years, and then happily embark on a cosmic journey."

As she said this, Focalors clasped her hands together, her eyes filled with a hint of longing.

No longer having to stay in such a cramped machine, but freely experiencing the vastness of the entire universe, feeling the beauty that arises from matter and ends with matter.

A week ago, that would still have been an unimaginable thing, but now there was an opportunity right in front of her.

"Okay, I respect any choice you make."

Neuvillette reluctantly let go of his selfish desire to share the burden, and said seriously, "From now on, in Fontaine, no matter what you encounter, I am willing to help."

"Thank you~"

Focalors smiled gently.
