A few days after the short getaway I'm back at work, I'm still on my own for the time being but I think it's better that way I wouldn't want to replace Torres that fast. Im parked in the patrol car and I'm texting Krystal
"How's everything going over there?"
"Ehhh boring, I can tell Elena is lowkey mad that me and you are dating now"
"Lmaoo she's acting like she had a chance"
"I don't know, if I didn't come that night you probably would've been taken advantage of by her"
"Not even"
"Kidding babe… only I can do that"

"Hold on I'm getting a call"
I'm sitting in the car when dispatch calls over the radio
"Unit 33 do you copy?"
"Unit 33 go for dispatch"
"We need you to do a wellness check on a older man in a neighborhood in your area, neighbor called and said he hasn't seen him come out of his house in a few days"
"Copy I'm in route"
I drive over to the location and park in front of the house and walk up to the front door and knock
"Cedar Cove PD!"
I wait a few minutes and then knock again
"Cedar Cove PD!!"
I walk around and check for anything and I see a window on the right side of the house. I walk up to it and see flies all around it. I head back to the patrol car
"Unit 33 to dispatch"
"Go for dispatch"
"There's no answer, but there's a window full of flies, could be a possible deceased person. should I proceed to find a way in?"
"Proceed with caution"
"Copy"
I walk around the house and try to find a way in without breaking down a door, I head to the back and see the back sliding door wide open. I pull out my handgun and call out
"Cedar cove PD!"
I walk around and check the house before heading to the room where the flies were. I open the door and i find a body…. It's not a natural causes death. The old man is laid out on the bed in just his underwear, his eyes have been carved out, his body shows heavy signs of trauma, and once again the hourglass is carved into the victims forehead. On the wall above him is writing in blood, like the one at Torres place.
"Look in my eyes.. what do you see?"
I call in to dispatch what I discovered and I check out the scene before walking out.
"This motherfucker has to be stopped"
Soon more cars are on scene along with the investigators. While I'm waiting outside the head investigator comes up to me
"Sanchez"
"Yes sir?"
"I find it kind of odd you're always the first one coming across these murders"
"What are you trying to say?"
"I don't know just seems like a weird coincidence don't you think"
"I just take the calls and do my job… don't fucking do that"
"Calm down"
"You're obviously trying to say I'm somehow in on this"
"I didn't say that"
"Bullshit I know what you're doing, fucking ass hole"
"Take a walk"
He walks away and start walking back to my patrol car
"Fucking dickhead"
Before i reach my car officer taylor approaches me
"Sanchez, you alright!"
"Yeah I'm good"
"Don't worry about him, he's always been a fucking ass hole"
"Yeah I can tell
"But he's right… this is getting weird"
"Yeah I know… this killer always leaves his mark but never leaves any type of dna or evidence behind"
"Don't worry, he'll fuck up and when he does, we'll be there to take him down"
We nod at each other and he heads back to his patrol car. I hop into mine and just let out a heavy sigh, then I get a text message. It's Elena
"Hey ant"
"Oh my god I have enough shit to deal with right now"
"Just shut up and listen, my fiance wants to invite you over"
"Why?"
"He just wants to get to know you better"
"Ehhh I think I'm alright"
"Ohhh he's going to be disappointed"
"Yeah life's tough"
"But what about me and you"
"Imma tell Krystal to fuck you up"
"No don't do that, I'll leave you alone"

I put my phone away and drive off to keep doing my patrols when I get another call from dispatch
"Unit 33 do you copy?"
"Go for unit 33"
"We have a call of someone trying to break into a house"
"Unit 33 in route"
I put on my lights and siren, speeding off to the location. When I arrive I hop off and pull out my handgun, I head to the back of the house and see a man dressed in all black with a ski mask on
"Cedar cove PD get on the ground!"
He turns and looks at me, I can see his eyes through the ski mask, a look of shock and fear
"Get on the fucking ground!!"
He puts his hands up and slowly gets on the ground. I run over and put his hands behind his back and cuff him.
"Officer Sanchez, I have the suspect in custody"
After telling him his rights, I rip off his mask and it's just a teenager, no more than seventeen years old. He looks at me scared
"What are you doing kid?"
"I'm sorry sir, I didn't want to do this"
"Yeah likely story"
"I'm serious a guy told me to do it or he would kill me and my family"
"Uhhh huh, tell me more about this friend of yours"
"He disguised his voice, I don't know much about him"
"Ohhhh interesting"
"I'm serious sir, he's going to fucking kill me"
"It's gonna be hard to do that while you're locked up"
"But my family!"
"Yeah your family can come pick you up after they post your bail"
I put him in the back of the patrol car and take him back to the station, for booking. He tried to contact his parents for his phone call.
"Officer they aren't answering"
"Damn that's tough, guess you're going to have to wait until we get in contact with them, who lives with you"
"My parents and older sister"
"Alright"
We lead him back to a holding cell and I head back to the front where Krystal is waiting on me
"What's going on?"
"His parents still aren't answering"
"So what now?"
"We're going to have to head down to his house and notify his parents"
"I guess I'll go since I arrested him"
"Alright I'll send you the address he gave us"
Ten minutes later I pull up to the address I was given and I see that the front door has been kicked in
"What the fuck… unit 33 to dispatch"
"Go for dispatch"
"I got to the kids house and the front door looks like it has been kicked in, I'm going to head in send back up"
"Back up in route"
I exit the car and pull out my handgun and enter the house

In the living room is a disturbing scene, his older sister is nailed to the wall with a blindfold and gag in her mouth, her throat is slit with the hourglass carved into the side of her body. His father's body ain't too far away, he's nearly decapitated with the huge hourglass carved into his back. I find his mother with a kitchen knife into her chest, clear strangulation marks around her neck and the hourglass on her forehead. On the wall close by is more words written in blood just like the others.
"Never Gonna Stop Me"
I call in to dispatch and tell them what happened. As I head outside I call into dispatch one more time
"Officer Sanchez to dispatch"
"Go for dispatch"
"Make sure that kid doesn't leave our sight, he might be a target"
Two murder scenes in one day, one committed that day. Things are getting out of hand, this suspect is getting more and more aggressive. What does the hourglass mean and all the sayings written in blood, everything is confusing. I hope the investigators can get the job done and get this guy off the streets before more people are hurt.
