Chapter 1 - The Boy Who Saw Infinity

---

Darkness.

That's all there was when I opened my eyes.

No sound. No ground. No sky.

Just… nothing.

For a moment, I thought this was death.

But then I saw it—

a faint shimmer in the void.

Like fragments of broken glass floating in the dark.

Each one glowing softly, reflecting something familiar.

Me.

Hundreds of reflections drifted around me—each showing a different version of myself.

Some crying. Some laughing. Some covered in blood.

> "Who… are you all?" I whispered.

My voice echoed endlessly, bouncing through the void.

Then one reflection stepped forward.

He looked exactly like me—white hair, glowing blue eyes, calm and terrifyingly beautiful.

But there was something unnatural about him. The space around him bent, trembling as if afraid to touch him.

> "You're not supposed to be here," he said, his tone like silk over steel.

"But since the world has taken everything from you… you shall take everything from the world."

My breath caught.

"Who are you?"

He smiled faintly. "I am your limit."

He raised his hand. "And now, you are mine."

The mirrors cracked.

One by one, the reflections shattered into light, merging into me.

Each impact burned through my veins, filling my mind with a thousand whispers.

> "Every world has boundaries…"

"Break them…"

"See what lies beyond infinity…"

The darkness exploded into light.

---

When I woke up, I was lying on cold stone.

The air smelled of dust and old rain. My vision swam, adjusting to the faint light filtering through a cracked ceiling.

Above me stretched an alien sky—two suns, bleeding gold and white light across a landscape of ruins.

I blinked, confused. My hands looked smaller… paler. My reflection in a puddle nearby showed a stranger's face.

White hair.

Blue eyes that shimmered like glass.

And yet—I knew. That was me.

"What is this place…" I muttered, my voice trembling.

That's when I heard it.

A sound that wasn't sound.

A voice that came from everywhere and nowhere.

> [System Initialization Complete.]

Welcome, Host.

Designation: The Limit System

Layer 1 Unlocked — Perception Limit.

'The more you perceive, the less you remain human.'

A glowing blue interface materialized before me, hovering in the air like a living hologram.

The Limit System?

The words pulsed faintly, almost alive.

My heartbeat quickened. "A… system? Like in games?"

The response came instantly.

> [Affirmative.]

Your soul was compatible with Infinite Structure. Reality recalibrated accordingly.

Warning: The System resists containment by this world. Proceed with caution.

I stood slowly, my body trembling—not from fear, but awe.

My senses stretched outward.

Every detail sharpened—the cracks in the marble, the flutter of dust motes, the faint hum of mana in the air.

It was like the world had been blurred my whole life, and now someone had focused it into clarity.

I could see too much.

Hear too much.

Feel too much.

> "Perception Limit," the voice whispered again.

"You are now aware of everything that touches your existence."

The ground trembled.

From the far end of the temple, three figures appeared—men clad in worn armor, their weapons crude but real.

They spoke in a strange tongue, but my mind translated instinctively.

"Another fallen brat?" one scoffed.

"Leave him. He'll die before dusk."

They began to walk away.

Something in me stirred—an instinct, a pulse deep within.

A faint hum resonated around me, like static on glass.

When one of them glanced back, his eyes widened.

Because between us… the air shimmered.

A faint distortion. A ripple.

He reached forward, and his hand stopped an inch from my face.

Frozen.

Time itself seemed to resist him.

> "What the—?" he stuttered. His arm trembled violently as if pressing against something impossible.

I exhaled slowly.

Every sound, every vibration, every heartbeat in that space—I could perceive it all.

And I understood instinctively.

This was my power. My boundary.

> "You're standing at your limit," I said quietly.

The world rippled.

A burst of invisible force threw him back. The man crashed into a broken pillar, his spear splintering like dry wood. The others froze, too shocked to move.

I lowered my hand. The air calmed.

Silence.

For the first time, I felt it—control.

Perfect, absolute control.

The space around me bowed to my will.

> [Boundary Interaction Successful.]

First Layer Mastery Progress: 3%.

You are walking the Path of Infinity.

I stared at the glowing words, then at my reflection in the dust—blue eyes swirling faintly with cosmic light.

A strange calm settled over me.

The fear was gone. The pain of death, the loss, the chaos—all buried under one simple truth.

> "Every world has limits," I whispered.

"And I'm done living inside them."

As I walked out of the ruined temple, wind swirling around my coat, the twin suns shone above—two burning gods watching a new anomaly rise.
