Chapter 2: The Forbidden Skill
When Elias opened his eyes again, he was lying in a world bathed in twilight neither heaven nor hell.
> "You have died, mortal,"
a voice echoed, sweet yet filled with divine sorrow. "But your soul refuses to rest."
Before him stood a woman with silver hair, eyes glowing like stars. A goddess.
> "They betrayed you," she said softly. "Would you like… revenge?"
Elias's lips curled into a bitter smile. "Revenge? I'll burn their entire Kingdom."
The goddess touched his chest, and a golden seal formed a crest shaped like fangs and chains.

Then her whisper:

Elias awakened in a vast forest beneath twin moons. His body was young again stronger, overflowing with mana.
And before him, chained to a broken altar, was a girl with silver furred ears and crimson eyes. A fox beastkin her power radiated so strongly it shook the ground.
> "Human…" she growled weakly, "set me free, and I'll kill you last."
Elias grinned.
> "No. You'll serve me first."
The crest on his chest pulsed. The air rippled.
Chains shattered. The fox girl fell to her knees, panting, her eyes wide.
