Cherreads

Beyond the stars, back to Earth.

Even in death, our story didn't end.

It simply changed shape — two souls drifting among dying stars, searching for the world we once called home.

After the final explosion, which destroyed the planet, silence consumed the universe.

Among the scattered fragments of light and dust, our souls drifted endlessly through the void. Countless stars passed us by — some dying, others being born — yet we felt no fear, no pain. Only warmth.

Our hearts, dreams, and memories melted together until there was no boundary between us.

We were no longer two people — we were one soul, one existence, carrying the echoes of what once was.

It was the most beautiful moment of our lives… and our afterlives.

As we floated among the stars, the voices of our friends reached us — distant, faint, but full of hope.

Hearing them reminded us of the promise we made:

"We'll return… no matter how long it takes."

For a brief moment, our hearts ached with longing.

How were they living now, while we were fighting endlessly two long years with VIRM ?

Did they still look up at the sky, waiting for us?

But then, a familiar chill spread through the cosmos.

The cold, hollow stare of the VIRM leader appeared in our minds.

"It's not over yet. We will destroy your planet anyway."

Even in death, the threat still lingered.

I felt my soul tremble — the instinct to protect my friends started burning inside me once again.

And just when the fear began to take hold, I felt her.

02's presence wrapped around me like sunlight after an endless night.

Her voice echoed in my heart.

"Darling… you belong to me. We'll save them together."

The worry faded. My soul calmed.

Together, we continued to drift through the galaxy, hand in hand, thinking of the world we left behind.

We imagined Earth — the places we loved, the laughter of our friends, the quiet days that might come after all the fighting.

We didn't even notice how close we were to home until the pull began.

A strange, powerful force started drawing us toward Earth — gentle at first, then stronger, unstoppable.

We tried to resist, holding each other as tightly as our fading forms allowed.

But the pull tore at us, stretching the light of our souls apart.

Her fingers slipped from mine, scattering into luminous fragments.

I reached out, desperate, my voice echoing through the void.

But before the silence swallowed us again, we spoke the same words — the same vow we once made beneath the stars:

"We'll reunite… no matter how long it takes."

And then, everything turned white.

When the light faded, the stars were gone.

Below us was Earth — blue, alive, beautiful.

Our souls fell like shooting stars, descending through clouds, through oceans, through time itself.

Somewhere, on that quiet planet, two lives began again —

a boy and a girl, born far apart yet bound by a feeling they couldn't explain.

They didn't remember their names, or the war, or the stars —

but when their eyes would meet one day, their hearts would know.

Because love like ours never truly ends.

It simply begins again.
