Chapter 280 - The Power of Creation

"The resonance has intensified," Osiris' synthesized voice announced during a lull in the thunder. His massive body stood a short distance away, several sensor Probes silently aimed at Spock, recording various physiological data and subtle changes in the surrounding energy field.

"The instability of the Genesis energy field, especially the current severe ionization, is directly interfering with his neuroendocrine system, amplifying the instinctive stress response during the process of physiological maturation."

Saavik had been observing quietly nearby. She immediately stepped forward and knelt beside Young Spock.

Her expression remained calm, but her gaze was exceptionally focused.

"The time has come," she stated calmly, then extended both hands, her fingertips gently touching Spock's temples.

This was an ancient Vulcan posture, used for the initial guidance of a mind meld.

Young Spock seemed to have been triggered by a switch; his body trembled violently, and his eyes snapped open!

In those dark Vulcan eyes, there was no familiar calm or logic now, only a chaotic, primal storm of emotions—confusion, pain, fear, and an indescribable, surging vitality.

He instinctively tried to break free, emitting a low, almost animalistic whimper from his throat.

Saavik did not flinch. Her fingers were as steady as a rock, and her gaze met his chaotic eyes directly.

She began to chant softly in Vulcan, her tone smooth and possessing a unique rhythm, like a calming mantra or the construction of a logical framework.

"Control your breathing," she said in clear Standard, her voice not loud, yet strangely penetrating the increasingly close thunder, "Perceive the energy within you, but do not be dominated by it. I am Saavik. I am here to guide you."

Young Spock struggled, but under Saavik's steady words and touch, his resistance seemed to lessen somewhat. His breathing remained rapid, however, and the confusion in his eyes had not yet subsided.

Saavik continued her work, using touch and a slight projection of mental energy to try and anchor a point of reason within that storm of emotion for him.

Osiris' crimson optical lens recorded the entire scene.

His sensors not only captured every fluctuation of Spock's physiological indicators and the disturbance frequency of the surrounding energy field but also recorded the sound wave patterns of Saavik's chanting and the faint but unique field changes emanating from her mental energy.

He even adjusted the recording mode, attempting to analyze any potential information transfer, whether bioelectrical or on a more subtle level, during this guidance process.

He made no sound, his massive body casting shifting shadows under the frequent flashes of lightning, like a silent and omniscient observer.

For him, this was not merely an internal affair of a species but a rare opportunity to glimpse how a highly rational civilization employs a unique knowledge system to intervene at the most vulnerable turning point in an individual's life.

The biological, neurological, and even sociological significance of this was of immense research value.

Everyone else in the camp held their breath. Maine's team guarded the perimeter vigilantly, while Kirk and Ambassador Sareek nervously watched the progress of the guidance.

Under Saavik's steady and rhythmic guidance, the frantic emotional storm in Young Spock's eyes gradually subsided.

His violently heaving chest slowly calmed, his rapid breathing became long and regular, and finally, his heavy eyelids closed. He fell into a deep, almost dormant silence, with only his steady breathing proving the continuation of his life.

The tense atmosphere in the camp eased.

Kirk let out a long sigh of relief, and Ambassador Sareek's tightly clenched fists also relaxed slightly. Although his face remained expressionless, the tense lines of his shoulders softened considerably.

Maine's team members also slightly relaxed their grip on their weapons, but their vigilant gazes continued to scan the thunderous night sky and the dark wilderness.

Osiris' massive body approached, and his dexterous Probe arm once again performed a comprehensive scan of Young Spock.

The sensors read detailed vital sign data: Young Spock's heart rate was stable, brainwave activity had shifted from the previous violent disorder to slow, coordinated sleep waves, and his metabolic rate, though still higher than a normal Vulcan adult, had stabilized, no longer posing a risk of losing control.

His body's tissue structure had also largely completed its transformation to an adult form, with bone density, muscle strength, and other indicators reaching mature standards.

"Physiological agitation has subsided," Osiris' synthesized voice announced during a break in the thunder, declaring his inspection results. "The growth spurt is over, and the body's major systems have completed adaptive adjustments.

He is currently in a state of deep recovery to consolidate the physiological changes brought about by forced growth."

He raised his mechanical head, his crimson optical lens seemingly piercing through the shelter of the rock ledge, assessing the still-violent external environment: "Based on the environmental energy decay model predictions and the target individual's physiological stability needs, it is recommended to evacuate after local sunrise and a further weakening of the planetary energy field activity.

At that time, external environmental interference to the individual will be minimized, and transfer risks will be controllable."

This news invigorated everyone.

Not only was the hope of Spock's return greatly increased, but they were also about to leave this beautiful yet perilous planet.

Even the most rigorous scientists, like Carol, couldn't help but marvel at the almost miraculous power displayed by the genesis project.

An energy, capable of reshaping a dead planet into a vibrant world in such a short time, and even reversing death, allowing a corpse to be reborn, even if the process was full of uncontrollable variables.

This ability to interfere with the fundamental laws of matter and life transcended the scope of most current Federation technology.

Meanwhile, Osiris, standing aside, was conducting a far more profound and pragmatic evaluation within his logical core.

His mechanically enhanced mind quickly connected Genesis Technology with the brutal reality faced by the Imperium of Man in the Warhammer Universe.

The Imperium's territory was vast, but truly habitable worlds suitable for human survival were always scarce resources.

Countless worlds had been reduced to barren death zones or radiation-scarred wastelands by war, xenos invasion, Chaos corruption, or simply over-exploitation and industrial pollution.

The bureaucracy of the Terra Council and the Adeptus Mechanicus of Mars were not unaware of this problem, but under endless war and survival pressure, ecological restoration was usually prioritized after weapon development and fleet maintenance.

What if… what if this Genesis Technology could be mastered?

Osiris' database rapidly retrieved information on known, environmentally harsh but strategically important star systems within the Imperium.

Transforming a dead planet into an ecological world capable of supporting fleet resupply and establishing forward bases; or "resetting" a resource-depleted, heavily polluted Hive City world to restore its productivity… The strategic value of this was great enough to change the fate of a sector, or even influence the outcome of a crusade.

Admittedly, the technology currently appeared unstable; the drastic changes on Genesis and the abnormal growth of Spock's body were clear evidence.

The entropy increase effect caused by forced compression of space-time and the uncontrollable decay of the energy field were all problems that needed to be solved.

But Osiris believed that with his comprehension, combined with the Adeptus Mechanicus' accumulation in energy manipulation and macro-engineering, plus the more fundamental scientific principles he might be able to exchange from the Federation, he could completely optimize or even solve these problems.

His thoughts went further.

The application prospects of this technology, which directly reconstructs matter and life forms, probably extended far beyond ecological transformation.

However, at present, he still lacked an in-depth understanding of the core principles of Genesis Technology, making it impossible to accurately judge the limits of its potential.

But acquiring this technology had quietly risen in his internal task list to a position equivalent to, or perhaps even higher than, warp drives.
