Chapter 56 - Information Analysis

The success of the experiment is merely the first step; the true harvest lies in the interpretation.

Osiris transferred the astonishing volume of encrypted data packets he received to a more powerful, independent analysis array within his workshop for processing.

This system, which he had personally built and which integrated Warhammer technology with local hardware, began operating at full speed, its cooling fans emitting a soft whirring sound.

Osiris walked to the main screen of the analysis array, his optical lens locking onto the scrolling decryption log.

He activated the logic core module, optimized for processing Adeptus Mechanicus internal communications, and began systematic decryption.

The first item to be fully decrypted was the "work report" from the ancient ruins in the Warhammer Universe.

The sender's identification was precisely the servo-skull he had transmitted during his last experiment.

The report presented the latest progress within the ruins in detailed binary code, supplemented by structural scan maps, resource inventories, and precise work logs.

The log showed that the servo-skull had strictly followed his pre-programmed instructions, effectively organizing the remaining Skitarii soldiers and Servitor within the ruins.

They systematically cleared the main passages leading to the core area of the ruins, removing accumulated dust and obstacles from localized collapses; reinforced critical support structures, evaluated and partially restored the remaining efficacy of ancient force field generators; and, following the blueprints Osiris provided, optimized for interdimensional transmission characteristics, began constructing a dedicated isolation operations area for dimensional experiments.

The accompanying progress schematic showed that this temporary experimental site had completed basic structural construction and the laying of main energy pipelines, with over fifty percent completion.

According to the servo-skull's calculations, based on current resources and efficiency, the site should meet basic safe operational standards by Osiris' next attempt at physical transmission.

Seeing this, Osiris nodded in satisfaction; the progress on the other side met his initial design expectations.

This meant that his strategic vision of building a two-way channel and acquiring resources from the Warhammer World had taken a crucial and solid step.

A stable receiving end is a prerequisite for larger-scale and more complex transmissions.

Immediately after, he began to parse the second part of the data packet.

This information did not originate from within the ruins but was external communication, accumulated over a period, forwarded by the Adeptus Mechanicus frigate orbiting the ruins.

As the support vessel for Osiris' exploration, this frigate, though not his property, would still follow his command during exploration missions.

Before Osiris descended to the surface to explore the ancient ruins, his orders to the frigate captain were to remain in low orbit and await his return from exploration.

Although Osiris had been "missing" for a while, in the Adeptus Mechanicus, where research units often span years or even decades, short periods of silence were entirely normal.

Thus, the frigate in orbit did not perceive anything unusual, merely speculating that Osiris might have made research progress and preferred not to be disturbed.

Therefore, they simply compiled and sent down these messages, without any other reaction.

These messages were organized and stored by the communication Servitor Osiris left in the ruins, without any reply.

It wasn't until the servo-skull was transmitted back to the ruins that it sent a reply message to the orbiting frigate, according to Osiris' preset low-level instructions: "Research entering critical phase, all normal, maintain silence."

Most of these messages were unremarkable, many being disorganized and not worth attention.

However, amidst this chaotic external information stream, a message marked with [Highest Priority // Imperial Regent's Office // Global Announcement] caught Osiris' particular attention.

The message was concise and grave: "The Primarch of the Thirteenth Legion, the Ultramarines, Imperial Regent, Roboute Guilliman, was gravely wounded by the traitorous Primarch Fulgrim of the Third Legion during the Battle of Thessala, and is now critically ill, sustained in a stasis field to preserve his last vestiges of life."

The reception timestamp on the message, after a rough spatiotemporal coordinate conversion, roughly corresponded to shortly after Osiris was accidentally thrown into this cyberpunk universe.

This news caused Osiris to fall into a state of silence.

A Primarch, a symbol and cornerstone of Imperial power, especially Guilliman, renowned for his exceptional strategic mind and organizational abilities, suffering such a severe blow, its impact extended far beyond the loss of a single legion.

This was undoubtedly a heavy blow to the loyalist faction, and it sharply reminded him that the universe he had left was still deeply mired in endless war and betrayal, with the situation not improving, perhaps even sliding into a deeper abyss.

Although the Great Heresy had ended, under the management and rule of the Primarchs, the Imperium would enjoy nearly two millennia of peace and a golden age, but currently, the Imperium was still in ruins, awaiting reconstruction.

However, for Osiris, this also meant that in the Warhammer World, he had a sufficiently stable environment for development, without having to worry about encountering any major events.

This was an era when the Imperium was rebuilding from the wounds of the Great Heresy, when the major xenos races that would later become enemies of the Imperium had not yet appeared, and the forces of Chaos were recuperating in the Eye of Terror—it was truly the golden age of the Imperium.

The Imperium envisioned by the Emperor and the Primarchs during the Great Crusade era had truly come into being.

It wasn't until two thousand years later, when the Beast Arises War, instigated by the Orks, took away the Imperium's last loyal Primarch, that this beautiful era truly ended.

Lamenting the turbulent future of the Imperium, Osiris quickly put these matters aside and began to synthesize all the parsed information to formulate the next phase of his action plan.

The smooth progress of the ruin's renovation was the biggest positive news, meaning that physical transmission experiments could be put on the agenda.

He tentatively planned to attempt directional transmission of small-volume, low-mass objects when the energy reserves reached a safe threshold next time.

Priority targets were the usable combat Servitor and Skitarii soldiers within the ruins.

These absolutely obedient, fearless, and tactically capable automated combat units would greatly enhance his actual control over the workshop here and the surrounding desert areas.

Whether it was for high-risk area reconnaissance, resource point occupation and defense, or responding to increasingly complex threats potentially coming from Night City, they were more reliable, efficient, and easier to manage than mortal mercenaries like Maine's crew.

However, in his hierarchy of values, combat units were always tools serving a higher goal.

As a Tech-Priest, what he truly craved deep down were the large, precise analytical instruments, specialized micro-structural scanning arrays, and the small plasma reactor and its critical components that powered the entire research outpost, all of which he had left in the ruins.

These devices and energy cores were fundamental for deep scientific research, complex energy manipulation, and cross-dimensional technology decryption.

They could greatly accelerate his reverse engineering of the dimensional transporter's working principles, as well as the analysis and integrated application of local unique technologies in the cyberpunk world.

With the Adeptus Mechanicus knowledge system he possessed, rebuilding an armed force in this world might only be a matter of time and resources.

But to conjure up those highly specialized, precise scientific research equipment and efficient energy sources, involving various rare materials and extreme processes, in this technologically underdeveloped world, was as difficult as forging a Titan with bare hands.

Therefore, when the dimensional channel is opened for the next experiment, Osiris must make new arrangements for the Warhammer World, striving to complete the analysis of dimensional transmission and the stable opening of the dimensional channel as soon as possible, in order to acquire materials from the Warhammer World.
