The morning after the crime, Clara sat in her car outside the station, still haunted by the image of Rosie's body at the antique shop. The snow had thickened, making Elmwood feel even more isolated. She couldn't shake the feeling that something about the scene was off especially the locket found with Rosie. It was identical to one owned by Jakson Moore's long-missing mother, Eleanor-a woman who had vanished years ago under mysteri circumstances.
Clara's thoughts were interrupted by a knock on her window. Sergeant Tim Barnes stood outside, and Clara asked him for everything he had on Jakson and his mother. Tim was wary. "You think Jakson's behind this?" he asked.
"I think he's involved," Clara replied. "And I don't think we've seen the last of him." Tim explained that Jakson kept to himself and his mother's disappearance had never bee solved. Clara's suspicion deepened. "The locket... it's the same one she wore," she said. Tim looked concerned. "You think this is personal?"
"Could be," Clara muttered. "If her disappearance conects to the town's secrets, these murders could be part of something bigger-maybe even revenge."
He agreed to pull the old case files, though he warned it had gone cold long ago. Clara watched him leave, certain that Jakson was revealing something deeperif only she could piece it together.
