There's a bang somewhere in the house. A door slamming, someone stomping.
For a split second, I think we're under attack. But I added more guards in and out of the property this morning. The Wolves are angry I'm back, taking over Stoneview and its surroundings. Fuck, I'm about to operate on the whole East Coast. It's only a matter of time before they try to kill me. I would too if I were them. Adding more security to this house is not only to protect me. I don't want them to get their hands on Kay.
But then a seething voice resonates, and my eyes automatically roll.
"Five months?" The shouting comes from the main entrance. "Five months, Nate?"
I'm in for a long conversation.
"Kayla, baby."
I hear doors opening and slamming shut. I hear a please, calm down, from Sam.
