The golden Sun spewed endless Fire, replacing Zhou Yi's decaying body, breaking free from him like a Phoenix from its cocoon. This was the manifestation of his Mental Energy and will, and the self that Charles and Jason had always wanted to Seal.
When this Sun appeared in this World, it meant that all of Charles's previous efforts had been completely in vain. Although they were still trying to remedy the situation, attempting to capture and Seal this Sun, in the face of Zhou Yi's painful heart and the increasingly real self born from that pain, their attempts at remedy became a complete delusion.
Nothing could shackle the rising Sun; in his presence, everything would turn to ashes.
The World of the mind instantly became incredibly dark. Although they still wanted to make everything return to normal, the power emanating from the Sun completely dispelled this false illusion. Everything in this World was fading, leaving only the most genuine darkness.
And in this darkness, all light transformed into the Sun, which had just broken free from its cage. The surging Corona ravaged everything around it, endless flames of light covered the sky and earth, carrying a determination and hatred to purify everything.
The Mental Illusion could no longer contain the great power of the Sun, even though it was woven by the strongest Mental Great Master in the World.
The Sun continued to rise, its brilliance erupting with ten thousand feet of light, enveloping everything here in its glow. The darkness also began to shatter, with countless cracks appearing upon it. Through these cracks, countless brilliant colors could be seen. That was everything that had been Sealed within Zhou Yi.
And this also meant that this Mental Illusion World was about to be destroyed, and Zhou Yi was about to break free.
Jason, in the primary control position, understood very well what Zhou Yi would do once he broke free. He was terrified and flustered, even struggling to maintain the calmness and composure a Mental Great Master should possess. His voice began to appear in this World, authoritative like a creator, and he commanded.
"Stop, you damn Sun. Stop, where are you going? You don't even know who you are?"
The Sun paused, but not because of the Illusion Great Master's words. He had already lost control of this place. Zhou Yi's voice then came from within the Sun.
"I am the God of the Sun, the Dawn Knight, the vengeful spirit. I will return to where I belong, to take revenge for her and me, upon you!"
With that, the enormous Sun instantly leaped up, tearing open the last of the firmament, and Breaking through into the endless, brilliant colors.
In the outside reality, everything from the Mental Illusion was reflected. Jason, whose Mental Energy had been torn apart, clutched his head and let out a painful wail. The shattering of his Mental Energy almost turned his brain into a mess of fragments. In this state, he could no longer control Professor Charles's consciousness.
And although Professor Charles's facial orifices began to seep crimson streaks of blood, a smile appeared on his face.
His eyes were no longer vacant; that gentle and wise look reappeared on him. He had regained his sanity and was no longer controlled by others.
As soon as he recovered, Professor Charles cast his gaze towards the mid-air. There was a friend of his, and most importantly, a student. Both had been severely harmed because of him.
Golden flames of light began to surge around Zhou Yi, just like Professor Charles. He had escaped the illusion and returned to reality. In contrast, the Dark Phoenix, who had just unleashed a terrifying Mental Storm with destructive power, was gradually quieting down.
Perhaps in the World of the Mental Illusion, it was a long and drawn-out period, but in reality, it was only a brief moment. And in this brief moment, one gained freedom, while the other fell into slumber.
The unconscious Dark Phoenix could no longer unleash that terrifying Mental Storm. Her body gradually lost its support and began to fall. The Water broke through the weakened barrier of the Mental Storm, rushing in like billions of runaway beasts, unstoppable. With a thunderous roar, it smashed through bricks and stones, twisted steel, and tore apart everything in its path.
The Dark Phoenix's body was still falling, but it did not fall into the all-devouring Water demon. Zhou Yi appeared below her, catching her body and holding her in his arms.
Looking at this once quiet and elegant woman lying silently in his arms like a withered flower, Zhou Yi's heart fluctuated violently. This fluctuation formed a strong impact, reflecting in reality. A power more terrifying than the Water erupted, instantly forming an all-consuming monster-like existence.
Immense gravity intertwined with endless telekinesis, transforming the Water into a giant vortex that was sucked into the air. Tens of thousands of tons of Water rotated wildly around him like steel blades, almost shredding everything that obstructed them. Steel and rock were pulverized into fragments by this Water, and this destruction continued to spread, extending to the lowest level of the dam and deep into the earth.
The Water vortex surged violently, spreading towards the center of the overpass.
Seeing the colossal Water vortex about to reach Jason, Professor Charles couldn't help but activate his ability, once again entering Zhou Yi's mind.
"Calm down, Yi. Your Mental Energy is too unstable. If this continues, you will lose control of yourself."
"Get out of my head, Charles. I don't want to hurt you, but you can't stop me either," Zhou Yi responded in his mind, and Charles discovered a volcanic anger within his mind.
"Don't let this anger control you, Yi. Calm down!" Resisting Zhou Yi's anger, Charles began to control his power, wanting to delve deeper into his mind to control this anger that was almost burning everything away.
Although Jason had done many unforgivable things, Charles still wanted to give him another chance. To him, Jason was just a student who had gone astray, and he believed he had the ability to bring him back on track, needing only one chance.
However, this chance did not depend on him, but on Zhou Yi. He understood this point, so he wanted to persuade Zhou Yi, even if it meant using his abilities.
But what Zhou Yi, who had already broken free from the Mental World, could least tolerate now was this kind of mental interference. Even if this interference came from Charles's good intentions, it was the same. His mind was filled with sorrow and anger, and all of it stemmed from this.
In the Mental World, the Sun shot out terrifying Fire and light, instantly expelling Charles's Mental Energy from his mind. This action was so violent that a large amount of nosebleed overflowed from his nostrils.
But Charles ignored these injuries; he just looked anxiously at Zhou Yi, desperately shouting to stop him.
"Don't hurt him, Zhou Yi. It's not his fault, please, let him go!"
This persuasion was weak and powerless, just like his personality. He could only watch helplessly as the vortex spread before them, completely engulfing Jason.
The sharp vortex tore apart every part of his body, completely disassembling him into countless pieces. If Charles wanted to identify him, besides memory, he could only search in that expanse of crimson Water. He watched all of this, finally lowering his head in helplessness.
"He really shouldn't have endured all of this. It truly wasn't his fault. Why did he have to bear all of this?"
"It's not Jean's fault either; she is also innocent." Zhou Yi came to Charles's side. He looked at the old man, who was deep in self-reproach, and said indifferently, "If you absolutely need a reason, then I can only say, Charles, I couldn't choose you to bear all of this."
Towards Charles, Zhou Yi's feelings were equally complex. He hated his power and actions. Although it was not his original intention, he still held a grudge. Erasing the Dark Phoenix's consciousness and almost turning himself into a walking corpse—no matter how much this was washed away, it was still tainted by Charles's Shadow.
Because of Charles's identity, he might find it difficult to vent his hatred on him. But for Jason, he would show no mercy. Such a madman, even if he was just a Puppet and everything was not his original intention, he still had to pay the price for it.
"This place is about to collapse. I'll send you out of here first. But Charles, I will keep Jean by my side. I will heal her, and until she forgives you, I hope you don't appear before us again."
"This is the wrong choice, Zhou Yi." Charles looked at his unconscious student, a look of regret appearing on his face. "I am very sorry for all I've done, but her mind is very weak, and only I can help her. You should leave her with me!"
"So you can destroy her again, or imprison her in a Mental cage again? Charles, I know who she is, and I will not let you do anything to harm her again." Stopping Charles's persuasion, Zhou Yi directly carried him and rushed upwards.
The vortex tore through all obstacles, quickly bringing them outside the Base. Seeing the blue sky and White clouds again was undoubtedly a happy thing, but they were both finding it difficult to feel that emotion now.
The dam beneath their feet could no longer fulfill its duty. After repeated destruction and devastation, it could no longer hold back the Impact of the Water.
The surging lake Water smashed the dam's body, and towering waves, mixed with countless debris, rushed downstream towards the lake. From a distance, it looked like a White line appearing on the earth.
Like the most elite army, the giant waves galloped, conquering cities and strongholds, making everything along their path tremble and shatter under their impact. They surged into the forest, countless trees were snapped in half and uprooted. They rushed into the valleys, huge rocks were smashed to pieces, and the ground was completely ploughed up. Nothing could stop them; they continued to gallop, advancing arrogantly towards the downstream of the lake.
There were human towns, home to thousands of people. However, in the face of this overwhelming Water, even humans, who called themselves the spirits of all things, could only tremble and flee. They had no ability to stop its advance.
And watching this terrifying power of nature, Professor Charles couldn't help but clutch his head.
"What have we done?"
