Acquiring the key from Hwayoung, Kiho held his phone in one hand, keeping her on a video call as they climbed the spiral staircase connected to the spacious living room. The house was so big it took a good few minutes to reach the daughter's room. Lim Soohyun had no idea why he was being dragged too, but it's not like he had anything to do, so he followed without complaints.
"Hey, Kiho. Do you think the toddler was abandoned at the shrine?"
And since there wasn't anyone around to watch over the shrine, the baby probably went unnoticed. Behind Kiho, he asked in a lower-than-usual voice. Kiho glanced back slightly but continued upward as he replied.
"Yes. People do abandon newborns at shrines. The same can happen to a toddler who might not even know how to walk yet. Who knows what compels them to do something like that."
