Chapter 122 - 122

Well, I hope the General will give it more thought." Tony shrugged. He didn't believe what Ross said.

Ross shook his head, picked up the glass and drank the drink in it, then looked at the bartender and said, "Another one."

Ross supported his chin with both hands, his thoughts drifting away. He was really unwilling to accept this.

He was unwilling to see everything he had fought for most of his life go up in smoke.

He is old and is only a few years away from retirement. His daughter has grown up and has a good home.

He is no longer a general now. Although he has the rank of general, what kind of general can he be if he has no military power?

He no longer has any worries. Although he is over 50 years old, the passion in his heart has not cooled, and he still wants to give it another try.

He wasn't afraid of death, and when Hulk and Abomination had caused so much damage, it was time for him to die.

But he didn't die.

"Gamma rays..." General Ross's eyes were blurred, and his thoughts had returned to the day four years ago, the day when Bruce turned into the Hulk because of gamma rays.

Maybe he could give it a try, he still remembered that the instrument had not been destroyed and could still be used.

The thought of the terrifying power of Hulk and Abomination, their god-like existence, made his heart burn. He knew that if he were to be exposed to gamma rays, he would most likely die, or he might become like Hulk.

If he succeeds, he will attract everyone's attention. If he fails, they will forget the name Ross in a few weeks or even days.

Even so, he still has to try. A person who has grasped tremendous power will never be able to let go of this intoxicating feeling. Losing power is more painful than killing them.

General Ross is such a person. Although he is still a general, he only has the title of general and has no real power. For Ross, it is better to shoot him.

"Check out," General Ross said.

"Sir, the gentleman who just came has already paid your bill," said the wine waiter.

"Oh? This guy Stark still has some conscience." General Ross bit his cigar and smiled faintly.

General Ross stood up, and his originally strong figure looked a little hunched.

Chapter 158: Curious Jane

Old Bridge, New Mexico.

"Honestly, judging by a madman, this madman's body is really great!" Daisy said with admiration as she peeked at Thor's body through the mirror in the fitting room while holding a coffee cup.

As Daisy spoke, she turned her head to Jane Foster beside her and said, "Did you see that? His chest muscles are really big. Also, he actually has eight abdominal muscles. This is really fascinating."

Daisy stared at Thor's strong and perfect muscles with a crazy look on her face. Thor noticed Daisy's gaze, but he didn't move much. In the divine realm of Asgard, he didn't know how many people had looked at him with such eyes, and he had long been used to it.

After hearing what Daisy said, Jane subconsciously looked up at the mirror, then immediately turned her gaze to the notes in her hand. Jane said, as if trying to cover up something, "Please, Daisy. Be more restrained. I don't want you to be complained about for harassment."

"I'm a woman. It shouldn't be illegal for a woman to look at a man's body!" Daisy glared and looked back at Jane and asked.

Jane was busy organizing her research materials, not even looking at her. She said indifferently, "What do you think? By the way, if you go to jail for this, don't expect me to bail you out!"

"Hey, we're friends, right? I guess we are. If we're friends, shouldn't you have bailed me out when I needed you the most? And why am I in jail for something like this?" Daisy couldn't understand. Men like women with curvy figures, but why can't women look at men's muscles? This is so unfair!

If there is anyone in this world who is not a master-level scientific researcher and whom Jane admires, Daisy will definitely occupy such a position. Her way of thinking really leaves Jane speechless.

Thor had already walked out of the house at this time. He was shirtless and wandering around the temporary factory rented by Jane. He even picked up something from the table from time to time and looked at it carefully. He acted as casually as if this was his territory.

This made Jane feel very wrong. In fact, she felt a kind of cringe-worthy curiosity about this strange behavior that had almost no characteristics of a normal person.

She was curious about his origins and the secrets surrounding him, but she felt only fear for his ignorance and even fearlessness and reckless behavior.

She wanted to control everything, or to control everything within the scope of her imagination, so when she saw Thor playing with her mouse curiously and most likely crushing it in his hand.

Jane quickly stepped forward, snatched the mouse back from Thor's hand, and said, "Excuse me. But could you please not mess with these things? These are very important experimental equipment!"

Despite these words, even she herself did not believe them.

Thor didn't care about Jane's attempt to stop his curiosity. He showed his beautiful white teeth and looked at her with a bright smile like a boy next door, and this smile immediately gave Jane a strange feeling.

This feeling became even stronger when she saw Thor's body that was comparable to that of a top male model.

Of course, despite the impulse, she couldn't express it with a crazy face like Daisy, so she could only move her eyes around to make herself look more natural.

If it was a playboy like Tony here, he might have noticed Jane's unnaturalness by now. They might seize the opportunity to build a good relationship with this beautiful scientist, and maybe even have an in-depth and easy-to-understand communication with her.

But Thor obviously does not have this ability. In this regard, he is a rather dull guy. After all, among the four warriors of Asgard, the female warrior Sif has always liked Thor, but there has been no key progress between Thor and Sif.

Of course, this may also be the reason why Sif did not show it.

But Americans are different. They are unrestrained and bold. Girls may pursue men in return. If it is an Eastern country, although women will also actively pursue men, they will be very reserved. People with lower emotional intelligence may not even notice it.

This is also the reason why Thor was able to establish a relationship with Jane in such a short period of time.

Thor had no idea of Jane's state of mind. He simply smiled brightly and innocently, holding up a T-shirt in his hand and pointing at a label on it. He asked, "What is this? Why do you Midgard people like to put such weird things on your clothes?"

Seeing the label he pointed at, Jane's face showed an embarrassed expression. She reached out and tore off the label. Then, as if throwing something away, she spoke.

"Oh, this belongs to Dr. Donobrake, my ex-boyfriend. He's very good to his patients, but terrible to his girlfriend. So, you should understand!"

Thor looked at her blankly. He actually didn't understand what he should understand, but his intuitive reaction made him nod honestly as if he really understood what she was saying.

After all, the honest Asgardians don't have the cunning minds of the earthlings. If they don't like you, they just don't like you. After a fight, when they feel good, the Asgardians will act like, "You're a good guy, I've made friends with you," and then treat you to a drink.

"Very good. One more thing. You just said we are Midgardists. Sorry, we are Americans. Not the Midgard you mentioned. What is that? The ethnic minority in your hometown?" Jane asked curiously.

As we all know, women are very curious, and scientists are also very curious. When the two are combined, curiosity is more than just 1+1=2.

And she was sure that there were no Midgardts here, so she concluded that if Thor was not talking nonsense, then he must have mistaken them for another race.

What is that?

The race of his homeland?

Jane, who had already imagined Thor's origin to perfection, began to let her mind wander, thinking about countless random things.

In response to her question, Thor displayed a complex expression of confusion, bewilderment, and surprise, and said, "What are you talking about? Midgard is your world. You are the Midgardians."

Thor's words confused Jane. Walter? Walter is addicted to drugs?

Fortunately, the scientist has a broad mind, and a spark of electricity flashed in her brain, allowing her to figure out the truth.

"Maybe it's just like how we call ourselves Earthlings. In their eyes, our planet isn't called Earth, but Midgard. If Earth equals Midgard, then that means he really could be an alien?"

As soon as this thought popped into her mind, she couldn't stop it.
