Chapter 102 - Chapter 102: The Mighty Transformers

Chapter 102: The Mighty Transformers

"Understood, esteemed Commander Megatron. I have more than 200 Decepticon warriors here who meet your requirements. We'll depart immediately and arrive approximately 12 hours after you. Please be patient, sir!"

Although they didn't know the reason behind Megatron's sudden change of heart, the idea of launching a preemptive strike thrilled every Decepticon. These were not the type to hesitate give them a chance to fight, and they'd charge straight into the frontlines.

However, the true protagonists of the battle on that planet were not these Decepticons, but rather the Autobots and the resurrected Fallen.

"Hahaha, you bunch of reptiles! I didn't expect you to last this long. Don't you know what surrender means? You had no chance against a supersoldier like me back then what makes you think you stand a chance now?"

To Starscream's surprise, when the Fallen had been sealed a thousand years ago, he had already prepared an extraordinary contingency plan. The massive underground chamber before them was actually the Fallen's second body, which automatically reconnected to his will the moment he was revived.

As the newcomer, Starscream had the dubious honor of witnessing the rebirth of a legendary Maximal Transformer.

Crack, crack, crack!

Boom, boom, boom!

A sequence of loud metallic sounds echoed. The ground beneath Starscream suddenly shifted it turned out he was standing on the Fallen's gigantic arm. With a small flick, Starscream and the others were launched into the air like fleas.

"Starscream, transform!"

Aside from the mechanical pterosaur and Starscream, all the others were ground-based fighters. While the two flyers managed to dodge to the side, the rest crashed heavily to the ground.

However, Grimlock seemed to have thrusters beneath his feet he stabilized himself before impact and landed firmly beside his comrade Mud, his movement as precise as a martial arts master's.

"Thanks, boss! I didn't expect him to be a Maximal! Judging by his size, he's probably several times larger than the Maximal Commander!"

For the Autobots, the Maximal Commander was already among the largest of the Super Maximal Transformers but compared to this colossal Fallen, he looked like a younger brother at best. None of them had imagined this side of the Fallen; it was truly terrifying.

The veteran Autobots, however, weren't as lucky. Aside from those who managed to brace themselves, most plummeted helplessly two of them hitting the ground with parts and bolts scattering everywhere!

"Damn it! We overlooked a critical factor. We thought we could seal him forever, but he's even stronger after his return!"

The veteran Autobot wielding a bronze sword looked visibly shaken. Before, perhaps with Grimlock's help, they might have been able to fight him but now, they felt only despair.

Generally, a Transformer's combat strength is proportional to their size. For example, Optimus Prime may be the leader of the Autobots, but in terms of raw power, Grimlock easily surpasses him. And Assassin? With a bit of luck, he could send Optimus flying with a single blow.

"Hah! Now you old fools understand how powerful I am, don't you? Too bad it's too late. Once I've reformatted you all, we, the Decepticons' followers, will conquer this blue planet and all its energy will be ours! Cybertron will remember your 'contribution!'"

Despite being eternal rivals, both Autobots and Decepticons shared one goal: to restore Cybertron's former glory though their methods couldn't be more different.

"What do you think you're doing with this primitive planet, you monstrous being? Don't forget our agreement! We never exploit planets with living civilizations! You'd better remember that!"

Even though they were utterly outmatched by the giant before them, the brave veteran Autobots raised their weapons, ready to face the mighty Fallen. While Autobots did venture to other worlds in search of energy, they would never casually destroy another civilization the origin of life was sacred and mysterious.

The Decepticons, however, held the opposite view. They preferred attacking primitive civilizations, believing that any world capable of sustaining life must be rich in resources. And since these low-level civilizations were as helpless as wild beasts before the Transformers, they made easy prey.

"This is the greatest difference between us, the Decepticons, and you, old Autobots. Planets of low-level civilizations can easily be cleansed and turned into regulated energy fields. Using these civilizations as guides, we can locate a planet's most valuable resources. Can't you comprehend something so simple?"

Clearly, the Fallen was disgusted by the Autobots' restraint. Why waste manpower and resources to develop energy when there was a simpler way to seize it? No wonder the Decepticons had grown stronger over the years they had broken old rules and found a faster path to power.

But such plunder could never stop with one planet. Once this world's energy was drained, they'd simply move on to the next target.

If so… the entire Milky Way would soon be in grave danger.

This young star system hadn't existed for long, and only a few civilizations were capable of self-sustained development. Most were still primitive and even if they united, they'd stand no chance against the might of the Transformers.

Had the veteran Autobots not discovered this situation and intervened a thousand years ago, this blue planet would have already been devastated its very core stripped to forge Decepticon weaponry.

In a way…

these Autobots were the saviors of all life on this planet.
