Chapter 3 - Chapter Three: The First Visit

Adira knocks on the Wells' door, not expecting an answer.

The door opens slowly and Alex Wells smiles at her "Hello, how can I help you, ma'am?"

Professional, kind, calm, not coddling, a luxury Adira rarely receives.

"Sorry to bother you, but are you Mr. Wells? I wanted to speak with you." Adira has an unfamiliar confidence in her tone.

"Um, yes, but how did you get my address? Only customers should have it."

"Well, I bought one of your devices and want to have a meeting." She lied.

Alex opens the door wider and steps aside for Adira to enter. He pours her a coffee and sits down across from her chair.

"Mr. Wells, I think the concept is incredible, electronics that help with daily discomforts and the minor complaints everyone just ignores in the business industry, but I think we can expand on it, I have some ideas that I would love to share with you." The lie flowed so smoothly, unlike how she used to stutter quietly when lying.

This intrigued Alex, who leaned forward, saying "I would love to hear it. Meet me here tomorrow. It's a Sunday and I'm always free on weekends for this exact reason."

Adira nodded, continuing "Concept is a baseline, and making the actual product is like beta. The second release is when you fix flaws, build on it, and really capture the vision. I am free tomorrow, I'll be here."

"May I know your name?" Alex asks

"Of course, Mr. Wells. I'm Adira."

"Adira.... Such a pretty name. Your parents must be inspiring. You may address me as Alex, I'll see you Sunday at 7:30 AM." Alex says. Adira puts the now empty mug in the sink and leaves.

Back at the apartment, Adira sits and thinks.

Eager to hear from me again?

"Well, I need feedback."

Wonderful. You have an opening. He'll take you to his home's study/office, and from there, there are many ways you can get to him. Get him to trust you, make him dependent and addicted, and use the leverage.

Adira starts researching and building actual ideas to pitch.

She's quite proud of her work, and puts it neatly in a laptop bag along with the laptop, mouse, and laptop cord.

She sets out a pair of nice clothes and goes to bed.
