⚡ Chapter One — "The Beginning of Chaos"
From the anime: Shadow of the Second Heir
🎬 Scene 1: Leaving Home
(Aerial shot, the morning sun slowly rises over "Nibana City."
The sky leans toward shades of blue, and glowing Mana lines flow through the air like transparent roads weaving between buildings.)
Mother's voice from inside:
"Ren, don't forget your lunch!"
Ren (coldly, putting on his headset):
"Okay… thanks."
Ren Kagami, a seventeen-year-old boy, with shiny black hair and ash-gray eyes that shift to bluish hues when light reflects on them, walks quietly out of his house. He carries his bag on his right shoulder, as if heading to a battle, not school.
On the sidewalk, children ride small hovering Mana bikes. Buildings pulse with glowing blue lines — proof that everything in this world runs on Mana.
🎥 Scene 2: Bus Station
Ren stands at a transparent crystal-lit bus station.
Moments later, a yellow bus hovers in the air, surrounded by spinning Mana rings under its wheels.
It stops with a soft hiss.
The door opens, releasing a cold wind infused with Mana energy.
Ren steps in quietly and takes the last seat by the window.
Ren (muttering):
"A new class… a new city… and probably new problems."
At that moment, faint Mana begins leaking from his body involuntarily.
Blue translucent energy swirls around him like a living creature searching for something.
The driver notices, and a small scream escapes from a student.
One student:
"Hey! What's that light?!"
Mana sensors on the bus react to the energy from Ren,
sending a violent speed surge!
The vehicle shakes violently as students hold onto their seats, screaming.
Driver:
"I can't control it! The Mana is surging on its own!"
Ren places his hand on his forehead, his expression bored and cold amidst the chaos:
Ren:
"Again… trouble follows me wherever I go."
💥 The bus explodes forward with speed, crashing through the transparent road and slamming into a glass Mana skyscraper.
The sound of the impact echoes through the city, blue flames mixing with smoke and dust.
🎬 Scene 3: After the Explosion
(The rubble burns, and rain begins to extinguish the flames.)
From the middle of the smoke, Ren walks calmly.
His clothes partially burned, his face covered in dust,
yet his gaze remains steady, indifferent.
Around him, students are surrounded by blue Mana circles protecting them from death,
then the circles suddenly vanish, and they collapse, unconscious.
Ren whispers as he walks among the debris:
Ren:
"At least no one died… good."
He lifts his coat, brushes off the ashes, and continues toward school as if nothing happened.
🎥 Scene 4: Niban Advanced Mana Academy
(A massive gate of blue energy glows, bearing the emblem:
「Niban Mana Academy」)
Ren enters the gate late, a quarter past the bell.
Students are in their classrooms, corridors empty except for the sound of footsteps.
He opens the classroom door quietly.
The teacher looks at him sharply.
Teacher:
"You're late."
Ren:
"Oh… yes, sorry."
Teacher (sighing):
"Class, this is the new student transferring from Noun Mana Academy. Introduce yourself."
Ren (coldly):
"Hello, I'm Ren Kagami."
A brief silence, then…
Students together:
"That's it?!"
Ren glances at them indifferently, but his eyes catch someone sitting by the window, messy brown hair, a strange smile on his face.
Teacher:
"Sit in your seat."
Kazu:
"Hey, you! Come sit here beside me!"
Ren walks slowly and sits next to him.
Kazu:
"You caught my attention. I'm Ryouta Kazuma — call me Kazu. Want to be friends?"
Ren (calmly):
"No."
Kazu:
"Huh? Why not?"
Ren:
"Because… no."
Kazu:
"What? Why didn't you finish?"
Ren:
"I just… no."
Kazu:
"Oi! Why not finish the sentence?!"
Ren rests his head on the desk:
"Fine… no."
💨 A piece of chalk flies toward them, hitting Kazu's head,
but disintegrates into dust before reaching Ren.
The teacher is momentarily shocked but quickly hides her surprise.
Teacher:
"Stop talking, both of you."
Ren (yawning):
"Fine."
Teacher:
"School isn't for sleeping!"
Ren:
"And home isn't for studying."
💥 The class bursts into laughter and shouting:
"Wow! She got hit!"
"I recorded that!"
"History will remember this moment!"
Teacher (angry):
"Silence! You clearly don't know who I am."
Ren:
"Right. I don't know you; this is the first time I see you, and I don't intend to."
Teacher:
"My name is Carol Nicholas, a respected teacher here. I could kick you out right now."
Ren (coldly):
"I'm not interested."
He performs a subtle Mana mind-link with the principal.
The scene closes with a close-up of Ren's eyes, glowing with fine threads of Mana.
Narrator (soft voice):
"In a world ruled by Mana… some are born not just to use it, but to redefine it."
