Chapter 3 - Outside World Of The Metal Bars

Its been a full week since I got my 'weird' powers. Since then, the change on my body is so fast and big that it can be almost noticed. People can literally say, "Does this guy take steroids on breakfast?" I don't deny, because the change in my looks and body almost seems like I am a different person. All the loose shirts and suits now tightens, screaming, one flick on the fabric and it rip aparts.

I light a cigarette sitting in my apartment's balcony as I think over.

Today is my day off. Its not like I have a wife or girlfriend to go out with or spend my time with. I am always like this on my weekends. Alone in a lonely apartment, spending time with a book or a movie. Its like I am behind some metal bars and I am sentenced for lifetime but that might change soon.

"Sir, I should remind you again not to smoke. It severely brings damage on your mind and lungs."

Iris's robotic and also the workaholic type voice creeks throughout my mind.

"Once in a while doesn't hurt, Iris." I say while looking at the city view in front of my eyes.

Iris is the only one I have in this lonely apartment to talk but not physically but through mind. Well, its better than sulking alone.

"It does and it only adds to your addiction." She says. A turn of emotions in her voice that I can't exactly put my finger on. Worry? Concerned about my health? Or anger? I don't know.

I take a sigh of disappointment before throwing away the cigarette in the bin. I stand up and stretch before sliding close the glass door to my balcony. Its still early morning. I decide to take this day differently than others. I pick up my phone on the tea table in the living area and message Yuki.

Are you free today, Yuki? I won a pair of tickets to a movie and I got no one else to take. Are you willing to come?

I hesitate a little before the message flies off to her phone. And she saw it in less than a minute.

Well, I don't have plans today so I guess I can tag along. Just tell me the time and place to meet up.

With a heart emoji, she ends. My eyes get widen as excitement brews up deep inside of me. Its the first time she agreed to go out with me! And I am over the moon already. I have to dress up properly because I am not the Akito I used to be anymore! I changed so much that it scares even myself. I quickly send off a random time and a place before rushing to my closet, ripping apart the clothes aside, deciding what would make me look manly.

"Iris! Iris! Hurry up and tell me what I should wear to look smart and manly." I ask her before ruining my closet more. I think she might have a great opinion.

"I see. Then, you should wear black jeans and black olive t-shirt and a black and red checkered button shirt on it with the buttons unbuttoned and sleeves rolling up to your elbow." She says. Her voice a little thinking and as if imagining what I would look like.

I wear as she says and do my hair a little stylish more than usual and with a oriental scented perfume, I am ready and as I see myself in the mirror, my jaw drops. Its exactly how I wanted to look. Dominating but gentle. Smart and manly but with a soft smile. Perfect!

I just got in the promised place and I am 5 minutes late. I slightly gasp for air as Yuki's eyes meets mine. She's wearing a black top with turtleneck, it has sleeves but its cutted off from her shoulder to her elbow. A sky-blue jeans sticks to her waist and thighs, revealing the extraordinary curves and body she has. But I notice her eyes more than her body. Her eyes never leaving my body, searching for any more details of the outfit I wore. I feel like she's suppressing the urge to lick her lips and it only widens my smirk playing on my lips.

"Good morning. Sorry I am late, Yuki." I say her name with an extra deep voice. I swear I am going to have a sore throat after this.

She snaps out of her world and her cheeks reddening. "Its fine, I just got here too. So, what movie are we watching?" She says, forcing the words out besides the lump in her throat. I am clearly having an effect on her and it only excites me.

"I'll leave the decision to you. First, let's go find a place to sit for a fresh start with a coffee, okay?"

I say though I am already walking as she follows me, keeping up with my pace.

"I know a cafe good for taste a few blocks away from here, so shall we?" I say looking over at her from my shoulder. She nods slowly before following me like a little mouse has been caught in a mouse trap.

After a few minutes of chatting and walking, she slowly becomes comfortable with my presence as we reach the cafe. I sit and order the waitress my regular black coffee and she orders a cappuccino.

"So? How's your brother doing? Its been a long time since I seen him last when he got into high school." I say though my attention is not on the conversation but on her bright face. So innocent, so small and cute. Yuki means snow in japanese and its matching with her. Her demeanor as bright and white as the sunlight. But the waitress interrupts my gaze by serving the items. I keep the conversation up with her so she cannot feel bored. I just know how to keep her worked up. After all, I have been with her since my middle school. Yeah, we are childhood sweethearts.

After our nonsense chatting, we set out to the movie theater. She selected a romantic movie. I swear I didn't force to select this one. Anyways, the movie starts with intro credits. After 30 minutes, its getting more and more romantic. I can hear people kissing and moaning from the rear seats. She herself has a deep blush on her cheeks. Well, I don't care what the movie is showing right now. My eyes are only on her. She slowly grabs my hand, I can feel heart throbbing from her hand. I flinch at the sudden touch. I look at her to see its just an effect from neck kissing on the big screen. I grab her hand as well to give her comfort she is seeking from me. Her face eases up a little as she smiles at me a little. Before looking back at the movie. I don't know but I feel like we became a lot closer throughout this...date? I'll rather call it an outing.

The movie ends we're sitting outside the hall on a bench as she explains how much she loved the movie and thanked me. Though I didn't care about the movie at all. I just look at her smiling and listening, noding to everything she's saying.

"What's next? Or are we going home?" She asks and soon I snap out of the dream.

"Well, I got no plans. Its almost lunch so we can sit somewhere. Unless you want to go somewhere." I say, already thinking about the best restaurant.

"T-there's a place I want to visit...But I feel shy to go with you." She stutters, clearly uncomfortable of me tagging alone.

"What is it about? And where?" I ask. I will not follow her if its too personal or anything. I don't want to ruin the chemistry we built up in the theater.

"Promise you will not laugh?" She looks up at me with a blush creeping on her cheeks.

I chuckle and shake my head. "Its...an anime cosplay event in the grand mall of the city..." She hesitates at first but says it eventually. I knew she was into anime and stuff but I didn't knew she was obsessed with it. Well, not like I hate animes or something in fact, I love it as well.

"You wanna check it out? I heard about it and its a blast. Let's go?" I say while standing up and looking back at her, an amused and grateful reaction spreading through her face also with something I can't put a name to. She smiles and stands up and...HOLDS MY HAND?! I honestly didn't expect that. I was planning to do that after the day. But seems like she took the move first.

She looks up at me and smiles brightly. "We used to hold hands a lot back then, right? Would it be okay if I hold on you? I don't want to get lost in the crowd." She says. Her charm clearly affecting my manly demeanor and she knows it very well. I feel my cheeks turning warm but quickly compose myself and hold her hand.

"Then, lead the way." I say, running off to a world filled with happiness and peace. The life I want. And if she is there, it could become reality, that's my imagination.

I said imagination.
