Chapter 59 - Chapter 56

"Th—my poison gas! Who dispersed it!? Who!?"

The Poison Scorpion thrashed wildly, his giant pincers slashing at the air as the purple mist streamed upward and out through the massive hole Lock had blown into the ceiling.

He spun around—only to find a blur rushing straight toward him at terrifying speed.

"Fire Dragon's Sword Horn!"

Lock's dragon wings snapped open. Flames surged across his body, swirling into a blazing inferno.

BOOM!

The Poison Scorpion never even reacted. Something slammed into his chest—a meteor of heat and force.

"So damn hard…"

Lock winced, rubbing his forehead.

Using that move on an armored opponent was absolutely something he needed to stop doing. The Poison Scorpion's head plating, amplified by the strengthening drug, felt like slamming into reinforced steel.

"You… you bastard…! I'LL KILL YOU!"

The Poison Scorpion staggered up, screaming through the pain. Dragonfire still clung to his chest, burning relentlessly into his nerves. His agony twisted into raw madness.

"Iron Fist!"

"Armored Body!"

Lock layered strengthening spells across his limbs and dashed in, refusing to give the villain even a heartbeat to recover.

Seeing this, the Poison Scorpion shoved through the pain, both burning and freezing across his torso, and lunged. His toxic pincers stabbed forward—

"Careful, Mage! His claws are covered in venom!"

Kōgūyami's voice rang out in warning.

"I know."

Lock raised one hand—not the usual two—and focused.

"Ice-Make: Holy Ice Sword!"

A gleaming blade of ice formed instantly in his grip.

CLANG!

The Holy Ice Sword caught the pincer, freezing it mid-collision. Frost raced across both claws, locking them in place with a glittering crackle.

The Poison Scorpion's expression loosened—not from relief but confusion.

The freezing touch dulled the burning pain on his torso.

A surge of cold and heat mingled into a warped, sickening sense of comfort.

And that moment's distraction doomed him.

"Heavenly Dragon's Hook Claw!"

Wind magic spiraled around Lock's legs.

He leapt high—

spun—

and kicked upward, smashing the villain's jaw with a brutal rising strike.

Then came a spinning somersault kick—then another—each blow fueled by the Gale's winds.

The Poison Scorpion was helpless, battered into the air, and thrown across the floor in a cloud of dust.

"Fire Dragon's Brilliant Flame!"

Flames burst between Lock's palms—his left and right fire converging into an enormous blazing sphere.

He hurled it.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"

The inferno consumed the Poison Scorpion, his shrieks twisting through the factory before dissolving into silence.

When the flames died, only charred earth remained.

The villain had been burned out of existence.

"What about the American Shorthair!?"

Lock landed beside her collapsed body.

She lay unconscious, face twisted even in sleep. Her skin had gone pale to a sickly violet.

"S-sorry… I'm sorry… It's my fault…" Sirius sobbed beside her, explaining in broken words.

The Poison Scorpion's tail strike.

Her breathing in the toxin.

Her staggering, unable to dodge.

The Shorthair rushing forward to shield her—

—only to be lifted and stabbed through the chest.

They had tried to stop the bleeding with a cloth, but the venom in the stinger was far more lethal.

"So she's been poisoned…"

Lock knelt, gaze softening.

"Forgive me."

He reached out and tore open the front of her suit, removing the makeshift bandages.

"W–wait, Mage, what are you—!?"

Mandalay gasped, Sirius flinched, and both Kamui Woods and Kōgūyami turned away in embarrassment.

"Trust me."

Lock pressed his palm over the wound.

A gentle green glow blossomed.

Magic pulsed—warm, pure, overflowing with life.

Heavenly Dragon Slayer: Healing Magic.

Rare even in Fairy Tail.

Miraculous here.

The ragged, bloody wound began to knit shut, granulation tissue sprouting like new leaves.

Color flooded back into her cheeks.

Her furrowed brow eased, and her breathing steadied.

Lock exhaled, sweat beading his forehead.

Healing magic devoured a tremendous amount of mana—but it had worked.

The scorpion's toxin was purged.

Her body would live.

Sirius watched, eyes wide with awe and confusion.

Flame.

Wind.

Lightning.

Dragon wings.

And now… healing?

What kind of Quirk did her boss even have?
