Chapter 3 - The QnA and Chat

[ Ask a query to Moderators ]

[ Some basic questions ]

Adrian was surprised to see the three interactive options in front of his eyes… or well, two. The option to ask a query was greyed out and unresponsive.

Though it did prompt Adrian to question who the moderator was. He had just assumed that he was in the real world after feeling the sensations on his body, that felt all too real.

But was he actually in some virtual reality of sorts? A game?

He didn't know, but he hoped he found some answers in the basic questions section.

[ Some basic questions and answers ]

// Q: Where am I?

A: Managers are beings from the world called Earth, and you are currently in the world called Sphardia. It is a small planet, twice the size of dwarf planet Pluto in solar system 453. //

// Q: What is Water of Regeneration / Energy-infused water?

A: Energy infused water is the underground water extracted by the control room and infused with energy produced inside the control room. It is a limited resource that regenerates in accordance to the amount of energy produced.

The size of the water tank increases proportionally with the energy level. Check the energy level and resources available inside the Control Hub tab. //

// Q: What are the monsters outside the areas?

A: The referred monsters can be two case scenarios, the corrupted beings you may know as zombies and the beasts. They come in various levels and strengths however each area is usually placed near a low level area or given enough tools to survive in a higher level area easily.

Zombies are the previous population of the world Sphardia that has been corrupted. You may undo their corruption using the Cleansing Altar.

Beasts are magical creatures that are born out of corruptive energies and genes of existing animals, beings, plants and even some inanimate objects.

Captured beasts and zombies cannot disobey or betray the captor. //

Adrian scrolled through some more questions and answers, but most of them were related to the mechanics and workings of the control rooms as well as the areas.

He noticed the obvious lack of explanations about how their situation came to be, and neither was there any information about what to do after the tutorial mission.

All he learnt was that there used to be many races on this planet and there are also many ancient ruins sites that he could explore for some loot.

He also found out that the energy barrier outside of his area was in fact not omnipotent, but still stupidly strong.

But there was a huge problem, that the barrier consumed energy to protect the area. Of course, the energy consumption was minimal if there was nothing attacking it, but it could quickly outrun the regenerating speed if it was getting attacked…

In the worst case scenario, the shield can run out and leave the area to get flooded with beasts and zombies, as they both love to attack the 'uncorrupted' beings.

With the addition of no energy gain at night time, such things are quite possible.

'This is not what I wanted to know, though…' Adrian still felt unsatisfied after reading through the qna, so he clicked at the only option left.

[ Chat ]

[ Hello, Manager 0420, how may I help you? ]

"Uh, hey." Adrian coughed, caught off guard although he knew what the word 'chat' meant.

"Why am I here?" he asked after a second of thought.

[ Manager 0420 has been summoned from Earth to help the planet Sphardia fight against the corruption. ]

"..." Adrian blinked, "Uh, are you an AI?"

[ Yes, Manager 0420. ]

"Good, so I don't understand why I should care about the corruption on some planet that is completely unrelated to me. Not like there is some pope waiting for me calling me hero and begging me to do it anyway."

[ Would Manager 0420 like me to beg him to help the planet and call him hero? ]

"..." Adrian nearly laughed at the reply, but thinking about his scenario, laughing would be quite weird.

"No, I am asking, can I go back to Earth? I have some loving but irritating parents and a very bitchy but still blood related sister back home."

[ I am sorry, you do not yet own the right to return back to Earth. ]

"How can I get the 'right'?" he asked, trying not to burst out and curse out the futuristic AI that can very easily turn him into dust.

[ I am sorry, you aren't qualified to know it, yet. ]

"..." Adrian clenched his fist till veins started to pop on his forearm, but he slowly took a deep breath, and asked in a gritted and restrained voice, "Then what do I gain from this at least?"

[ You gain the ability to gain power, and countless further rewards down the line. I promise you that if you reach further down the line and gain the right to return to Earth, you will have enough power to rule it. ]

"What do you know about Earth? What is going on there?"

[ Earth is the 3rd planet in solar system 453, populated by unawakened humans that cannot utilize an ounce of potent energy in it. Everything is going as it should. You are not qualified to know more. I am sorry. ]

"..." Adrian blinked again, the line 'everything is going as it should' sounded much more menacing to him than he thought it should.

It triggered his overthinking mind, making him imagine countless things that might have been happening there and if everyone is alright.

He quickly wanted to question more about it, but then another line caught his attention.

Unawakened humans.

He remembered when he was shocked by the monitor a while ago, he saw some sort of a holographic system that quickly disappeared, never to return again even if he called all the trigger words he knew.

System, Profile, Stats, Status, he tried everything but nothing worked till he nearly forgot about it after getting caught in other options and overthinking.

"What do you mean by the unawakened humans?"

[ Humans of the Earth possess unawakened talents within their genes that has not been tapped yet. Manager 0420's talent was awakened by me after scanning the genes. ]

"Do you know what my talent is?"

[ No. One's talent is only visible to the one themselves. ]

"How to view it?"

[ There are many ways to make the system interface appear, however the easiest way for the manager should be to say 'Talent Window'. ]

"Of course…"
