Chapter 1 - Chapitre I : The World of Arféa

In a distant city, one of the last bastions of the world protected by the Last Dragon God, a war broke out due to a plot by the human kingdom. This city was rich and had attracted extraordinary development, making it feared by other kingdoms who wanted to get rid of it and found a way to do so using ancient runes. The dragon did everything in his power to protect it, as well as the royal family who lived there, but sadly...

it seemed as if the gods themselves had abandoned this nation.

This city was destroyed in one night. No one remained except for his one and only child. This king ended up destroying his own kingdom and dying at the hands of this child.

I was a dragon who protected these lands. I sacrificed millennia for them, but this world ended up hating me, chasing me away, and ultimately, my mission was over. I was unable to protect this kingdom. My last moments were spent watching the victory of these barbaric children.

A noise, drops of water falling relentlessly on the ruins of an unknown world. Smoke, blood, and suffering. I can barely breathe, my eyes hurt. Amidst the deafening noise, the strange rain, and the blood-red surroundings, gasping for breath and covered in burnt black dirt, a woman ran towards me, holding my hand.

Tochi, Tochi.

Who is that? My mind is weak, but I can hear her. Make an effort, we're going to survive, run with all your strength, she said in a loud, piercing voice. In this destroyed city, attacked by unknown forces. This woman took me to a place where magic reigns, where races wage war, reducing everything to ashes and defying the laws of nature. Everything was transformed into ashes and acid. But she didn't give up. She continued to fight for our survival. She headed for the so-called forbidden forest, the only place the world avoids. Here, there is no white light, only blue. With all her strength, she fell. And in the heat of the moment, I fainted.

In the distance, a transcendent voice echoed.

"This world is lost. The gods abandoned it millennia ago."

A few days later, we found a way to rebuild a house far away, though strange, it was there. This woman saved me with her own life.

Tochi finally woke up to see this woman who had lost her life saving him in an old, dilapidated house inside this so-called forbidden forest. Not knowing what was going on, he looked for a way to see her face and drink some water, panicked by this strange situation.

He found a letter on the table.

It simply said, "Live, Tochi. This world will eventually recover."

Tochi moved around confusedly and approached a mirror at the back of the room. The shock of seeing his new appearance caused Tochi to go into shock and then almost into a trance.

In a gloomy, dark room lit by a strange light, he who was used to hearing the sound of water in his cave, the being who protects the human kingdoms and the human world from his world of origin, was confused for the first time. A strange phenomenon had occurred to him: a reincarnation, a change of body, and a new way of life.

Again, that voice.

"Dragon, you have come back to life, Tochi, the High Elf of Destiny."

A light enveloped him, a warm, almost divine breath, memories flooded his disintegrated body from his past life like ashes after battle, then everything became clear in his mind.

When he opened his eyes,

a being like the wind blew around him, swirling around him, his clothes had changed. Off-white pants and dark leather boots. Toshi felt a kind of strength in his body, like a seal in his heart.

"What is this?" he whispered. At that precise moment, a voice echoed in his head again.

"Welcome to Arféa, young Ancient Dragon."

He jumped in fear, saying,

"Who is this? Show yourself!"

The voice insisted,

"Don't be afraid. I am just a fragment of an ancient god of this world."

Toshi realized he needed information and asked,

"Why did you bring me to this world? I was sure I was dead."

"Does the dragon paradise really exist?"

Toshi sat down on a chair in the center of the house.

The voice replied.

The voice: Do not fear for your old world. You are in the world of Arféa, and I brought you here

because you have the potential to discover the truth of this world. Your life is not over; it has only just begun.

And my old world, what happened to it? Is it at peace?

The voice: Your world is at peace, and the truth has been restored thanks to the last descendant of your former kingdom. You did not fail to protect it, for a member of the royal family survived.

Hearing this, Tochi began to cry bitter tears.

The Voice: This world is in total chaos. The gods have disappeared and the wars continue.

There were four gods who lived on these lands, but the kings rebelled and ended up destroying these gods to take over the world.

The Voice: I brought you here because I saw your determination to protect your former world. I have therefore given you the last fragment of divinity from this godless, lawless world. I am certain that you will find the answers to the disappearance of the gods and how to bring peace to this world.

Tochi asked, "Is it safe? You're putting me in an unknown world and asking me to investigate."

The Voice: "The truth will come at a price and a heavy toll, but you have no choice because this world is headed for destruction and you are the only one who has the fragment."

The wind blew strongly and everything became calm again.

Tochi stood up and looked out the window at the blue horizon, a magnificent green and sparkling lake surrounded by fairy-like beings as small as spirits. He realized he was in a different world, looking around and seeing all kinds of different animals. He felt a kind of natural connection with the beings of the planet, as if a hidden power was buried within him. He needed to do in-depth research on this world, the customs He went to the woman who had died at his bedside, gave her a proper burial, and thanked her for everything. He kept a pendant she had worn with a photo of him, her, and a person who could have been her mother in a rather luxurious setting. He began to look at the sky and the beings around him and tried to approach the lake to discover the environment he was in. Then he sat down by the water, pensive, planning his future.

Tochi "thought": Arféa Arféa, if I owe you this life, then I will live as I wish. I will travel the world, but I will not be influenced by your quest for truth. Even if I have to fight the dragons of this world, I will form my own opinions and build my own future.
