Chapter 4 - Tending to you...

In the endless trail of the snowy Ruthenian forest walked two. Eleanor and Slav. Her hands locked around his shoulders. Breathing in and out the dry air.

He coughed. She watched, concern brimming in her eyes. Before he could lock eyes, she looked away.

Eleanor's pov:

Trudge* trudge*

The man had gazed at me with that same intense pair of blues. Yet I had avoided him, not wanting to show my flushed face.

Though, curiosity got the best of me as I then gave him a quick glance. His eyes were on the floor as if to search.

My eyebrows furrowed–They then fluttered to me as I then quickly snapped my head once again to my right.

God…

I scolded myself internally. We walked in silence as he stole glances of me from time to time. His fingers then brushed against my palm.

The chillness jolted me as I shot him a look–Though he already was watching... His wolf-like, hooded eyes read my face as he tilted his head.

"What is your name?" a beat, "I'm aware you know mine" the corner of his mouth curled as he watched me falter under his gaze.

My cheeks turned into a faint hue of pink as I looked away.

I called him by his name, as if he was someone close…I poured my tears over him, held on to him–Heck, I broke through glistening ice to save him. Letting the shards tear my hands as if they meant nothing next to him.

My heart pounded in my chest. What must he be thinking? The thought alone mortified me.

Though soon, we saw an enormous cave. We went closer and finally reached it. The cave with its cobblestone engravings gave it a rustic look.

Inside, there were snake-like veins. Wild, unkept. The cave's mouth was enormous, the passage seemed like a wide hole. Dark, cold.

My eyes then fluttered outside, darkness began to set in as the snow intensified. The wind howled in a low moan.

Then–" Let's go in shall we" a whisper. I jolted as I turned, shooting him a look. He had stepped away, his smoky eyes watched me as my lips parted.

Y-You scared me…I murmured, gaze then returning to the ground. Slav's head tilted his head. Then he walked in. I followed him without command.

As we stepped in–The harshness of the merciless cold had made my body ache as I then flopped to the ground.

Curling into a corner like a gremlin I stared at him. His frame was tall, taller than average. My eyes then fell to his chocolate curls, at how easily they fell and hovered over his piercing blue eyes.

Slav walked, then finding a corner right next to her, he sat. His head turned to her, finding her face.

Eleanor looked at him back. This time neither looked away. He stared as if to question me.

"Why have you done this?"

My eyes fluttered as if to answer, "I would've done it for anyone" ...

His head tilted, "really?"

Without a word, I nodded. Really…

His eyes then flickered up, gaze darting as if to count the endless cracks of the cave.

Then–" Let me tend to you" He shot me a look, "Tend to me?" he repeated.

My eyes widened as my words faltered, "I-I meant… his lips curved into that lazy smirk.

Gosh…if only he wasn't injured…

Tend to your wounds, I ended.
