sabre hunt a young man at the age of 17 studying medicine, that was who I was until the apocalypse. On that faithful day, I and Beverly hills the only girl who had caught my heart since high school. I am crazily in love with her, we were studying at the same university, while I studied medicine she studied business administration. The both of us was taking a stroll down the streets of Cape Town while we had a casual conversation about university life we were headed to our respective dormitory.
'Beverly, how about we grab a lunch at the school canteen before we depart'
I proposed cause I didn't want to depart with her so fast we were not having a lot of time for ourselves due to the tight academic schedule we both had so any chance I had to spend more time with it I always grabbed it instantly.
Beverly flashed me a smile after I proposed that
' you never get tired of doing this, do you?'
She asked me gazing at me in the eye with an amused smile on her lips as she teased sabre more
' all you have to do is say you want to spend more time with me'
Sabre stammered as he blushed immediately then with a resolute face he pouted
' if you don't want to come along, then keep teasing me'
Beverly burst into laughter as she tugged at his cheeks which had a shade of pink now, she said with a smile tugging at her lips
'you look so cute when you do that, of course I am coming along what are we having for lunch'
Sabre smiled as he pulled her closer and whispered with a slight giggle
' I will be having you for lunch one day '
Beverly rolled her eyes at his comment and quickened her pace as they headed to the school canteen. The duo spent a couple of time at the canteen then departed to their respective dormitory.
In a room belonging to the male dormitory at the university
' The weather is really killing me...'
Sabre complained lightly as he gazed at the sky through the window. During this moment he suddenly observed a strange phenomenon the sky seemed to be covered in cracks and the rain poured down heavily. He shrugged as he saw it
' maybe it nothing afterall '
He concluded after combing through his knowledge About anything on that phenomenon.
The rain was falling as if a deluge had beaten down on the world. The sounds of the water drops hitting the pane of the window was soothing but sabre could not appreciate the benefit
As of Recent,since the past year. The world weather had become absurd and erratic becoming unable to be predicted by the weather forecasters. Deserts were suddenly flooded with all kind of storms and the earth poles started to defrost due to the high temperature.
However, this was not all. Even Icy places like Antarctica began to thaw overnight, the next day temperature plummeted again freezing everything all over.
Scientist simply had no way of explaining this phenomenon however as a result of this the nation attributed all this to the depletion of the planet layer and urged the small countries to be careful with pollution after attributing the phenomenon to it.
Now even if the sun shined brightly, people still carried and umbrella fearing a sudden storm
'As if all of this is not enough I have to go to work in this damned storm' sabre complained as he rummaged through his luggages in search of warm clothes.
As sabre was ransacking his luggages, the whole world seemed to shudder as everything started shaking uncontrollably, things began to move from their places.
Quickly without any further ado he held on to his closet to prevent it from collapsing on top of his body and directly turning him into meat paste
Sabre felt something in his stomach as though someone punched him hard on the stomach knocking the wind out of him, he suddenly had the urge to vomit, his face turned pale as he bit on his lower lips in an aid to resist the urge.
After about thirty seconds everything returned to normal, things stopped moving away from their places. Sabre heaved a sigh of relief as he cursed indignantly
' what the fuck was that just now'
He no longer felt the urge to vomit and the cold coming out of the window embraced his body but he couldn't care less about that as he gazed at what was before him

' have i finally ran mad' sabre questioned himself as he gazed at the strange green messages that appeared on his retina

Sabre was slim but under his clothes were well toned muscles and abs due to his constant work and training. Considering that the number in parenthesis shown on the screen was the norm for a normal human being then the condition of his body was quite decent
' MAGIC'
Sabre said in shock,
Magic! , a classic element of fantasy movies and light novels appeared on this screen and he could even be called a prodigy in that aspect based on the fact that the base for a normal person was a ten and he had over a two hundred in it
' does that mean I would have been a great wizard'
Sabre muttered as he delved into his imagination which was caught short by the constant banging on his door the banging seemed to follow no trend as though the person who was banging on the door was desperate.
' pls help me, don't let them kill me. I do not want to die open the door please'
A soft harmonious feminine voice beseeched him from the other side of the door, sabre didn't hesitate anymore and flung the door to be greeted by the gory sight of zombies chomping down on the female head, the sight made sabre feel like he lost all air in his stomach, his stomach churned uncontrollably as he struggled to restrain himself from throwing up
' Mother fucker, get away from her'
Sabre screamed though he was terrified he mustered up courage as he grabbed a kitchen knife from his room and stabbed it mercilessly into the head of the blood seeking Zombie.
After repeatedly stabbing the zombie until it dropped dead, sabre shifted his gaze to the body of the female that was bitten to death and was horrified to see her get up on her feets, headless as she struck at him swinging her arms wildly. Forcing himself to ignore the screen with green messages, he stepped back allowing her arms to pass by his face and without thinking twice he stabbed his kitchen knife into her chest but he had ignored an important feature of the zombies, they felt no pain.
The female clutched him and threw him at a the dormitory door, he struck it hard making it shatter, he bit his lips to prevent himself from grunting in pain as he hurried to get himself back on his feet knowing fully well that failure to do that could be the cause of his death.
' Crap it hurts like hell'
Sabre complained as he stood up on his feet, his legs wobbled incessantly an evidence of how monstrous of a strength the zombie used to hurl him across the alleyway, looking at the door it was dented in a strange way due to the impact of the collision between it and sabre body
Grabbing the kitchen knife he lunged straight at the female Zombie cursing indignantly as he mustered all the strength he had and pierced it in the neck. Afterwards his legs gave up as he fell back on the ground, with the danger taken care of he finally fixed his gaze on the screen with green letters that had been flashing repeatedly since when he had killed the Zombie

Sabre glared at the part with space addition spell and as the information about the skin flooded his brain he couldn't help but giggle in excitement at the cheer thought of using the skill and he could not help but exhale when he recalled it was just a basic skill of his astral magic
' it no wonder it so expensive. If it wasn't I am practically untouchable'.
