Viona's POV
That serious look I rarely saw on him sent a chill through me, like something was genuinely wrong. I suddenly regretted asking that question.
I should have taken it back and asked what he planned to do with my father instead. Yes, I should have asked that.
Rafael stepped forward again, and I went on full alert.
"Stop." He halted. "Can you just talk without getting too close? You know, even though we're still married, we should respect each other's boundaries. It's not like we're a real couple anyway." I commanded.
He curled his lips, his tongue pressing against his cheek, his face still unreadable.
"What makes you think we're not a real couple?" he asked coldly.
The question made me flinch. "It's just a contract marriage."
"That's right. And what does the contract say, hm?"
I bit the inside of my cheek, already knowing the implication.
"We're not in a public place. There's no need to act like we're burning for each other when it's just the two of us, right?"
