Viona's POV
That vexed look pierced straight into my eyes, making my chest tighten. The sharp clink of his fork being dropped onto the plate sounded like an alarm. He was irritated.
Reece was rarely upset about anything. Most of the time, he simply did not care unless something caught his interest. But this time, I could feel Rafael's presence triggering those irritated nerves.
"Reece, honey, this uncle's name is Uncle Rafael, and Mommy is caring for him because, as you can see, his hand is injured. And—"
"Why did he sleep with you?"
The question hit my heart like a blunt strike.
He had not been there when Roey came into my room earlier, so it must have been when Vae snuggled herself to sleep with me.
So they did see it.
I bit my lip, unsure what to say. Shame crawled all over my body at how careless I had been.
"Reece…" Rafael spoke up, and I reflexively squeezed his arm.
