"Donald!"
Logan clearly heard Gabriella's plea for help; his eyes instantly filled with rage, gripping his phone tightly.
"Logan, listen to my advice, and stop meddling. Your disobedience has already angered me greatly, don't provoke me any further."
Donald coldly left these words before hanging up.
Hearing the dial tone, Logan slammed his fist onto the steering wheel, infuriated. He quickly started the car and sped toward the address Gabriella had given him.
On the way, he dialed Caliban's number.
"Hey, Caliban, new situation. No time to explain. Take the Professor and wait for me at the Santa Fe border, hurry!"
Caliban sounded visibly worried on the other end of the phone. "Did Chris find out about our escape plan?"
"No, it was Donald."
Logan quietly explained: "That guy is even more trouble than the Lawrence family. Before he attacks us, you have to get the Professor out of here, otherwise, we won't be able to escape once he gets the chance!"
"I understand." Caliban sensed the urgency in Logan's tone and quickly said, "The Professor and I will leave right away."
"Alright." Logan nodded. "Wait for me at the border for two hours. If you don't see me after two hours, don't hesitate to take the Professor to Victor, Weeks Street, Nevada. He can give you shelter."
"Sabretooth?"
Caliban was a little puzzled and replied, "I remember. I'll wait for you at the border. Be careful."
"Yes, I will."
With that, Logan hung up the phone, looking at the road with a cold expression. He gritted his teeth, stepped on the accelerator, and sped toward Gabriella's address.
Meanwhile, at the hotel.
Donald sat on the room's sofa, looking at Gabriella in front of him.
The poor Mexican woman was handcuffed behind her back, her hair disheveled, her face covered in bruises and the girl?"
They rushed there as soon as they found Gabriella's address, but unfortunately, they only found Gabriella at the hotel; Laura was nowhere to be seen.
However, Donald was sure that Gabriella and Laura had been living together; the room showed signs of their shared life.
Gabriella stared intently at Donald, biting her lip, not making a sound.
Donald scoffed at her stubbornness. "Still stubborn? No one can save you until you tell me where X-23 is. Don't worry, I won't let you die so easily. You worked in our lab, you know a lot about our experiments. I don't think you want us to use you as a guinea pig."
Hearing "lab," fear flashed in Gabriella's eyes, but she clenched her teeth: "Go to hell! God will not forgive you!"
Donald grew impatient. "Do you think we can't do anything if you don't tell us? I don't plan on giving up that girl. The higher-ups value her greatly. Besides, without your help, how far can she go?"
He paused, then suddenly chuckled. "You aren't hoping to rely on Wolverine, are you? Gabriella, be rational. Logan is a damn old wolf now, and he can barely stand. Why do you think he would oppose me for your sake?"
Gabriella frowned, a look of sadness on her face.
She knew Donald was probably speaking the truth, but still, she remained silent.
"Sigh..."
Donald slowly stood up and walked toward Gabriella. "You truly disappoint me."
With that, he suddenly raised his hand and delivered a hard slap across Gabriella's face.
Slap!
The deafening sound echoed in the room. The blow nearly knocked Gabriella unconscious, and a broken tooth flew out of her mouth.
Donald didn't stop. He kicked Gabriella hard in the stomach again, the force sending her flying, and the chair behind her shattered.
The pain in her abdomen made Gabriella curl up on the floor, spitting out mouthfuls of blood. The physical pain brought tears streaming down her face.
She clenched her teeth and sneered: "You better kill me, then no one will know where Laura is."
Bang! "Ah!"
Just as Donald was about to attack again, a shout from outside instantly alerted him. He turned and rushed out of the room. The room was on the first floor, facing the hotel courtyard.
Little Laura was standing in the courtyard, with a gunman lying at her feet, blood gushing from his chest.
Several gunmen cautiously surrounded her.
"Laura, what are you doing here?! Run!"
Gabriella, inside the house, panicked as she recognized Laura.
"It seems she can't bear to leave you," Donald said, smiling again. "Laura, come back with me obediently, and if you do, nothing will happen..."
But before he could finish, Laura extended her sharp claws and lunged at him.
Donald reacted quickly, dodging her and backing away. The girl missed; her claws plunged into the ground, instantly tearing through the hard concrete and leaving four distinct scratches.
The two gunmen beside him reacted quickly, holding Laura down. Against two adults, Laura struggled.
Just as she was about to fight back, the gunman beside her pulled out a prepared tranquilizer and plunged it into her neck.
The girl's expression instantly became sluggish, her body gradually lost strength, her eyes staring intently at Donald.
"Disobedient children get no rewards."
Donald sighed. This anesthetic would only exhaust her, not render her unconscious.
Laura's eyes were filled with resentment, a murderous intent emanating from her clear gaze, but she was completely powerless. Even with the enemy so close, she couldn't do anything.
"Take her away!" Donald commanded coldly.
"What about Gabriella?"
One of the gunmen looked at Gabriella inside the room.
Gabriella's eyes were bloodshot, filled with resentment toward Donald and pain for Laura.
"Kill her," Donald said indifferently.
Hearing this, Laura bit her red lips and struggled desperately, but her limbs were too weak; she could only watch helplessly as the gunman approached Gabriella.
"Donald, God will never forgive you!"
Gabriella stared intently at the dark muzzle of the gun, her breathing ragged.
She looked at Laura one last time and closed her eyes in despair. Maybe she should have left a week ago instead of trusting Logan.
Bang!
Suddenly, a black sedan roared down the street, its engine at full power.
The car crashed head-on into Donald at a terrifying speed, causing his pupils to suddenly contract, and he instinctively rolled away.
Bang!
The car slammed into a wall, instantly shattering it, with bricks scattered and the front end embedded in the rubble.
Crack!
The car door burst open, and a figure stepped out, metal claws in hand shining coldly in the sunlight.
He stared intently at Donald, his long, dark shadow completely enveloping him.
"Donald, let them go!"
