Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: We're A Product Of Fate

Hours later...

"What happened?"

A voice behind Aizawa said,

"I don't know, he was a dead man walking when I found him like this when I came."

Aizawa rubbed his arm, littered with cuts, scrapes, and bruises disguised under long sleeves

'Apparently, this little kid on death's door can put up quite a fight,'

They were in a local hospital that was often only visited by civilians, so the nurses were quite shocked to see pro-hero Aizawa,

"I assume you're with the boy."

Kushina had to admit, it took way too long to get her an ID, and a birth certificate was incredibly complicated, not knowing her parents made it too difficult, so when she arrived home at 2 in the morning to a decimated house, she was furious, but not seeing Sanemi was scary.

She always has a tracker on Sanemi at all times just to monitor her pseudo-son during his night escapades, but a great sigh of relief was evident when the tracker on Sanemi showed he was at the hospital near her.

"Yes, I'm taking care of him while we get situated."

It was a weird amount of tension in the room. Kushina knew who this hero was and how much he knew about Sanemi compared to her, so his staying in the room meant one thing.

"Is... he in trouble by chance?"

Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. Even if he didn't know about all his killings, the building collapse, and fighting as a hero was grounds for massive trouble,

'Nezu knows of this kid, even present mic has compassion for the brat, if only they'd seen some of these sights.'

"Hmm, how about the max sentence in a Tartarus type of trouble?"

Kushina stood in a very pitiful attempt at a fighting stance. Aizawa let out a chuckle, mocking but with a bit of respect, knowing the difference in skill between the two.

"But, he isn't a bad kid, and people have put a good word in for the little problem child,"

She went to speak, but he lifted his finger, continuing,

"I still won't be so lenient. If the public or even other heroes had heard his crimes committed in the past 3 years, then he would've been sent to Tartarus, no matter the age."

Kushina lowered her guard, knowing there was nothing to fear, but knew the cost of whatever he had done would likely be open on their end and closed on hers.

"This boy is much stronger than I am, and that's something I normally wouldn't say, but other heroes will need to be on standby, and to do that."

The tracker she had on Sanemi was in Aizawa's palm as he fiddled with it. Kushina now knew Aizawa expected this entire scenario, even his responses seemed carefully crafted.

"You knew I was going to come, then how did you know I was even with, or that he had a partner, how?"

Aizawa couldn't lie, the kid for sure made his self-esteem as a pro hero plummet after every chase or short battle, as the gap between them grew until catching him, even with his quirk deactivated, was impossible, but he always went in a certain direction,

"I knew the general location of where y'all stayed for a while now, but the exact location was unknown, as when I went out at night, the trees blocked most of the building from sight. The last chase I had with him, I was able to pinpoint his exact location and have been spying at the end of all my routes for 2 months, which is also the reason I stopped pursuing him as well."

Kushina was in awe. Aizawa was so good at tracking, even without a tracking quirk or a massive gang like The Shie Hassaikai that took over 3 years straight nonstop, and he beat them to it.

"So what are you offering us precisely?"

Aizawa got up from his seat, and a little to his dismay, Kushina was a good bit taller than him.

"I need you to move to Mustafu, and there you will be monitored. He would need to go to U.A. That is a non-negotiable, along with any action from here on act that is a crime could be prison or Tartarus."

Aizawa brushed past Kushina as he handed her tracker back to her along with two ankle monitors,

"I left the details on the envelope next to him. From here on out, you will be monitored 24/7 by the U.A. staff, and pro heroes located in the nearby area will be notified."

Kushina could only peer at Sanemi, knowing, even with the sudden appearances, they still kinda got what they wanted anyway,

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sanemi woke to the slow drip of the iv beside him and a constant rhythm of beeps likely from the heart monitor. He was very proud of himself; it was almost as if he denied fate itself.

He saw Kushina asleep beside him, not really the sleeping beauty type of sleep, but definitely passionate nonetheless.

He held his head, remembering the fight between him and Aizawa. He was scared he could lose his new life, but to fight the hero after being so weak and having his quirk turned off meant zero chance of winning.

 Kushina began to wake,

"How long have I been here?"

Kushina stretched her back before answering,

"The nurse said 3 and a half hours before I arrived, and now 6 hours since I've been here, so basically 9 hours at this point."

Sanemi looked thoughtful for a moment. He breathed in a long breath, concentration breathing, one of the many recycled moves from his sibling's own concepts and quirks,

'It's been so long since I stopped my wind breathing, my body seems more acclimated to wind breathing than normal breathing now,'

"What happened to the hero? I can't remember anything after our fight."

Kushina wasn't sure when to start, but the sheer lore dump she was planning meant a very grumpy Sanemi and a very good reason not to hunt villains or coincidentally stumble into villains.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5 years later....

Both Kushina and Sanemi now knew what it meant when they said 24/7 surveillance; their new life was surrounded by heroes, on almost every corner was a hero, even at their home, cameras littered the walls.

In the Gunma prefecture of Mustafu, Sanemi could feel weirdly normal even with ankle monitors on made by the support team of U.A. He could get used to this; they didn't even have him join regular school, so he was pretty much chillin.

Even though Kushina stated heroes would be watching them, only Aizawa visited once, not the easiest conversation, but hearing that he would be patrolling other parts than Hosu, mainly in Mustafu, which felt stalkerish, but he didn't mind, nor did Kushina.

"Sanemi look at this."

A phone was rudely pushed into his eyes,

"I can't see the damn thing if it is directly in my fucking eyeballs."

Kushina chuckled a little bit,

"Oh yeah, right."

Sanemi began looking at it and drew blanks, all he saw was a man with shaggy hair, a long sleev-,

"Damn, Pro Hero Aizawa working at U.A. Why would he work at U.A.? He always devoted himself to his underground work."

Kushina shrugged. Aizawa didn't seem like the type to teach, but knowing this meant U.A. was really trying to groom the future heroes into mini Almight's. Aizawa doesn't take hero work lightly; he is one of the only heroes they watch regularly.

"Well, for only doing underground work, he makes the spotlight quite a bit. He also has close contact with heroes of U.A., so I guess it was only a matter of time."

Sanemi glances at Kushina, nodding, but his gaze lingered on the new article from Kushina's still outstretched hand.

Kushina had to admit, Sanemi, even when in a seemingly calm state, his look is the most unsettling thing about him, even if she had forgotten how many nights he was covered in blood, the scars across his face, and the way his eyes sat with a psychotic gaze.

'Anyone can tell he has killed before, the new 'anti-hero' stain has been making waves around Mustafu, but his look is far less crazed, and that's saying something,'

"You know what, Aizawa is much more ripped than when we last saw him, even his hero costume is a little more filled out, still a skinny fuck though."

Kushina can't see a difference, but Sanemi was the fighter, not her.

"Speaking of difference, you are much taller now, once you were a little baby, now, almost a full-fledged man, still lacking in age that is."

A vein or two popped on Sanemi's head. Kushina's teasing was getting on his nerves. It hurt that she was still much taller,

"Does being an adult mean being an annoying fuck too?"

Kushina grabbed Sanemi, wrapping her hands around him, staring down, whispering

"Am I really that annoying to you?"

Sanemi grumbled something about 'manipulative women, ' something she was very proud of.

"Say sorry, little Sanemi."

"Sorry, big Kushina..."

A long silence went on as the words processed in Kushina's brain

'Big'

With a slight smirk, Sanemi pulled away.

"Giant....."

He was mauled viciously even neighbors wondered if he was okay.

hours later...

Sanemi and Kushina watch hero footage of the newest recruits to U.A., since Aizawa is starting his teacher's debut, might as well scout his potential students.

"What kinda shit is this? How are these future heroes so weak?"

Kushina could agree,

"This is kinda pathetic, from what I see, only 7 has a real chance."

Sanemi wondered how villains were even losing if this was the cream of the crop in future heroes, the 4 villains he fought could easily take down Aizawa, yet they wasted energy on useless shit.

"Turn that off, there isn't even a point in watching whatever the hell that is, feel sorry for Aizawa."

"I'm sure Aizawa regrets his decision, but this ain't all bad, much better than last year, at least there are prospects."

Sanemi laughed hard at that, the best hero school, number 1 his ass, at best, most popular.

"You know we've been together for a long time now, over half your life, been seeing me every day, and almost half my life has been seeing you."

'Kushina is being oddly sentimental.'

Sanemi thought as she must realize that his life was full of ups and downs, she was the most consistent thing in his life.

"What of it..."

Silence hung in the air as Kushina collected her thoughts, as both were now showered by the darkness of the room, with only the soft light of the night's street lights.

"We know nothing about each other, like why you carry that blade everywhere you go, or why you were covered head to toe in blood and crying when we met, I know nothing, WE know nothing about each other."

Sanemi agreed, but very much liked it that way, even if he was interested in her past as well.

"You sai-"

Kushina put her finger on his lips as she sat cross-legged on the bed, with him sitting on the edge beside her.

"I said that 8 years ago, we are, well, I am a grown adult now, and you are 15, we should learn something about each other first, even if it's little by little."

Sanemi expected this years ago, but now does seems very natural, though he doesn't like sharing his past; it's long overdue.

"Sanemi, I want to know what happened right before we met."

'Hmmm, this is going to be a pain.'

"I was under the Quick Control Facility care,"

He saw the clueless look on Kushina's face.

"an orphanage for kids with dangerous quirks or uncontrolled quirks"

A 'mhm' escaped Kushina's lips before he continued,

"There was a kid who turned villain and killed many other kids and workers at the facility, even the leader was almost killed."

Sanemi's expression wasn't an emotion but rather a silent gaze into the dark whirlwind of events that happened that night, even the static the broken ceiling light gave off as red lights bathed the hallways mixed with the blood of death.

Kushina peered into Sanemi as if trying to detect a sliver of pain, but it was almost as if he connected with that part of his soul, too connected. It was tearing her up inside.

"I killed him, and with the blade a friend gave me, the one I still have, I left them; they were meant to be heroes; he wasn't meant to be a hero, maybe a killer was all that he was meant to be."

Kushina cried for Sanemi as she hugged him from the back, as he grabbed her arms, sharing a moment he definitely needed. A genuine hug brightened his dark inner world a little bit.

"You sure you want to say what you were doing as well, or not? We don't have t-

"It's alright, I got all the girly emotions out of the way now..."

Kushina's grip on Sanemi grew tighter as she prepared herself,

"I was working under the Shie as a weapons dealer, one of the reasons I'm terrible at creation is cause I only really knew how to make guns and bullets and such."

Sanemi had a feeling that the 4 men who approached were looking for 2 people, and she always shivered when he mentioned the man in a crow mask.

"It was hell, and the room they kept me in was over 115 degrees, so I could be making weapons, as they were at war with a different rival gang at the time."

She shuddered, but just scouted up closer now, both are wrapped up like a sandwich, with Sanemi clasping her hands to comfort her a little.

"A girl with a dragon quirk, her name was Ryuko Tatsuma. She was an angel, but her family was indebted to the Chisaki family. She did hits for them, but one day, something snapped, and she went on a rampage. By the end, she was able to destabilize the entire gang with her quirk."

"I haven't kept up with her as we were still little when this happened, and she disappeared, but she helped so many kids escape, but almost all were captured once again, so I hid, and we met at the same time I found shelter."

They sat there for a moment, processing it for a long minute, collapsing on the bed, and they stayed in their coddled position, embracing each other's warmth.

"It's so much better now... for both of us."

Hearing Kushina's words, he hopped. Denki, Toguri, and most of all Genya are saying the same thing. He wasn't sure, but he would like to unlive most of what he lived and stayed with Genya and the family, but beggars can't be choosers; he knew that all too well.

"Yeah...."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the spectators watching, the closeness in a supposedly brother-sister relationship was very concerning. They lay in the same bed, the girl was pressed against the boy's back as he rested sandwiched to her, coupled up like a real couple, but the worst part was the fact that she was kinda 21, he was kinda 15???

There are multiple people on watch by the U.A. staff, as you'd be surprised how many kids have fucked up past, but they were never informed of these people; however, these folks were treading the line on whether they should call the police, just cause of strange activities.

"Ay man, this is starting to get a little out of hand, right?"

The look on everyone's faces was 100% on the side of it being out of hand, but they knew this was the only questionable thing they've done since being on watch, which is what U.A. likes to hear, but the heroes stated that it was fine, and a certain seductress of a hero was all too for it.

"Let's just wait until we get some hardcore evidence. They haven't done those types of things yet."

Another worker spoke,

"They do go to the bathroom together and showe-"

They all stopped him from continuing his train of dialogue,

"We can't see what they have done, so no proof of anything strange."

Luckily, someone spoke with a nice bit a logic to their growing concerns,

"Pro hero Aizawa stated they were with each other for 3 years already before our involvement, which meant they have been together for 8 years now."

lifting his glasses smartly,

"Let's hope you're right, man"
