Chapter 1 - Transmigration

Lucas's eyes flew open, accompanied by the sound of ringing phon.

The last thing he could remember was almost catching Arceus, the god of all Pokémon! Of course, it was merely a game, but the excitement was real, wasn't it?

"Argh!" Sleeping on chairs really did give back pain, didn't it? he lampooned inwardly, before standing up and answering the phone.

"Yes? Who is it?"

"This is the Lumiose Management Office of West Street. We have detained your Pokémon, Fletchling, for flying without a license. Please bring your Pokémon license and come over to fletch it. No pun intended."

"..."

Should he be confused or cry at her bad joke?

Am I still dreaming?

What the f*ck?

Pokémon?

Flying without a license?

Yes, he must still be dreaming…

Lucas raised his hand and slapped himself.

"F*ck, this isn't a dream!"

Why did these words sound so familiar, as if he were stuck in some cliché transmigration novel?

His eyes widened in shock.

Turning around, he looked at the room.

Wow…!

Yep.

This wasn't his room. Instead, it looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Sitting on his chair, he massaged his head, trying to process everything. It was then that his eyes fell on the lit monitor.

"How to Obtain a Pokémon that will Grow in 6 Seconds"

"How to Evolve Your Fletchling..."

"How to Evolve Your Fletchling Within 30 Minutes Without Evolution Stone, Exercise Only..."

"How to Evolve Your Fletchling Within 30 Minutes Without Evolution Stone or Exercise..."

"How to..."

His eyes almost bled looking at those tabs.

"Um… Mister Lucas…?"

"Ah, yes. Thank you for the information. I'll be right there."

After hanging up, Lucas rushed straight into the washroom to look at his face.

Lucas Brightstar… an orphan barely able to afford his school expenses. He barely ate, making sure that his Pokémon, Fletchling, slept with a full tummy. Recently, the Fletchling had entered a rebellious phase, joining some shady food delivery app to make quick bucks.

What the f*ck?

Looks like I'll be yelling those words pretty frequently…

Lucas's eyes twitched involuntarily.

Sighing, he splashed water on his face.

Looks like even this body is called Lucas…

His face was quite pale… Fifteen years old… Recently became a Pokémon trainer and got out of the orphanage… Hmm, his blue eyes were quite pretty, he would be quite the looker, eh?

The figure in front of him was indeed malnourished.

"Haa… looks like I have the qualifications to become a transmigrator. But couldn't I at least have completed my game?"

He wanted to cry. It had taken him several hours to find that Simulator Hack.

"It is what it is," he sighed, before exiting the room. His eyes once again fell on the monitor.

Lucas hesitated for a moment, then coughed and glanced at the tab *"How to Evolve Your Fletchling Without Training or Evolution Stone"* from the corner of his eye.

It read: "The first method: wake up every morning and shout at your Fletchling, 'Transform!'"

Lucas was speechless.

Perhaps the original owner of this body gave up on life after reading this? Perhaps he was so cringed by it that he rolled over and died?

Laughing quietly, he wore his brand-new academy coat and full pants—the only decent clothing in his possession—along with his shiny red boots, and finally walked toward the exit.

"So this is the Kalos Region Pokédex, eh?" He looked at the red tab with a large blue dot in the middle. Clicking it revealed a holographic tab-like structure.

It had a rounded, rectangular form with a smooth, streamlined design. Predominantly dark blue, with silver and black accents.

A prominent, circular screen was centered on the device, displaying information. Several buttons and controls surrounded the screen for navigation and interaction.

The first thing that popped up in the holographic tab was his ID, along with his license and student ID. There was also information about Fletchling.

Mm.

He smiled, closing the tab and tying it to his waistband, locking it. With a flick of his wrist, he opened the apartment door, and with another holographic card, locked the door before exiting.

Wow…!

His mouth opened again, his jaw threatening to break the fourth dimension as he looked at the surrounding buildings.

The first thing that caught his eye was the humongous, behemoth of a metallic structure—Orism Tower, located exactly at the center of the entire city.

Lumiose City: a city built like a wheel, completely high-tech, with a large population of humans and Pokémon. Given the city's size and the advanced energy barrier around it, the fact that flying Pokémon needed a license, though bizarre, was somewhat understandable.

And this previous owner… didn't get his Pokémon a flying license! Sigh~

From what he remembered, this city was inspired by Paris, a modern urban city in the Kalos region, full of life and diverse districts, all well connected.

Looking at the blue sky and the bustling streets filled with trainers and Pokémon, Lucas couldn't help but smile.

Even if the situation seemed extremely bad, this was still a world of his dreams.

Spotting a Blaziken on the streets, his smile widened.

This…

He had really transmigrated into the world of Pokémon.
