Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 Traversing the Apocalypse

The hundred-meter distance was almost instantly closed.

The Lickers' exposed brains in the air subtly writhed. Having mutated due to the virus, they lost their vision, but their hearing was extremely developed in compensation.

However, upon closer inspection, one would notice that a very small electronic chip was embedded in the center of each Licker's brain.

That was a device Umbrella Corporation used to control the Lickers' brainwaves, so in this situation, even the weakness of not being able to see was eliminated.

The first Licker frantically lunged at Saeko Busujima, but the reinforced girl's five senses had been amplified to the human limit. Not only could she smell the sweet scent of rotting blood in the air, but her skin could also feel the subtle vibrations of the airflow.

The Muramasa sword, weighing several kilograms, felt as light as a feather in the girl's hand.

She aimed at the Licker's crimson tongue and slashed.

The hum produced by the blade friction against the air was clearly audible.

As the two crossed, the sharp blade of the Muramasa sword directly severed the Licker's long tongue.

Virus-laden blood splattered in all directions, and Saeko Busujima dodged sideways.

The pained Licker let out a shrill shriek, its brain tissue constantly trembling.

Saeko Busujima seized this fleeting opportunity, the Muramasa sword directly slicing off the Licker's brain.

However, two more Lickers quickly crawled towards her.

But Saeko Busujima, having won the first encounter, was not panicked.

Having instantly killed the Licker, she knew that the combat power of these monsters was not actually very high.

Although they were faster than ordinary people, she was no longer an ordinary person herself.

Wherever the blade passed, sharp claws with barbs and swollen, blood-red muscles were sliced through like butter.

The smell of blood in the air grew thicker.

The surrounding zombies, seeing or hearing the commotion, roared and surrounded her.

But Saeko Busujima remained unmoved, leaping into the zombie horde. With every swing of her sword, a zombie's head fell.

She even deliberately slowed down her killing speed, just to savor the pleasure of the vibration transmitted from the blade piercing flesh to her palm.

The reinforced gene serum not only strengthened her body and mind but also reignited her long-hidden desire for slaughter.

However, just then, a few screams from the shelter caught her attention.

Saeko Busujima immediately sobered up.

And the Licker had gone to hunt its companions!

Too late for regret, Saeko Busujima leaped with explosive power beyond human limits, wanting to return to the shelter as quickly as possible.

But just then.

A notification from the chat group distracted her for a moment.

["Group Message: A group member has claimed a quest. Do you agree to the following group members entering your world?"]

["Group member 'Fallen Angel' requests to enter your world"]

["Group member 'Hell's Fubuki' requests to enter your world"]

["Group member 'Magic Old Man' requests to enter your world"]

["Group member 'Shepherd' requests to enter your world"]

Several consecutive notifications made Saeko Busujima slightly stunned.

But then, without thinking, she agreed to all of them.

So.

In the blink of an eye.

Before Saeko Busujima's slightly shocked gaze, a quiet blue teleportation gate opened, and then several unfamiliar figures emerged from it.

First was a schoolgirl with smooth, long golden hair, shining like sunlight, reaching her waist, combined with fair skin and clear pupils, looking very much like a holy angel from mythology.

Or rather, she was an angel to begin with.

"Is this another world? It feels like playing a VR game!"

Next, a tall, black-haired woman appeared behind her.

Unlike the petite Gabriel, she was a graceful and mature beauty with an elegant demeanor.

Green eyes, fair skin, a slender waist and ample bosom, she wore a dark green long dress, black over-the-knee high-heeled leather boots, and a pearl necklace around her neck.

"The situation doesn't look too optimistic, it's time to get to work."

After Fubuki spoke, under the control of her psychokinesis, all the surrounding zombies were blown dozens of meters away by a strong wind.

"The air is much better."

Next to emerge from the teleportation gate was an elf woman with pointed ears.

She had long, smooth white hair, styled into twin tails with hair ties, and her blue-green eyes were very calm; if one looked closely, they would notice a hint of color in her pupils, with the colors transitioning from red, blue, green, to yellow from top to bottom.

She wore a white mage's robe with gold trim and brown leather boots, holding a staff with a round ruby embedded at the top, and a briefcase in her right hand.

"Another world, it's unlike any town I've ever been to."

Frieren placed her hand on her forehead to block the sunlight, her sharp elf ears twitching slightly.

And finally, a black-haired young man in casual clothes made his appearance.

Rosen's tall figure stood on the road in Tokoname City, his peripheral vision quickly scanning the entire scene, a faint smile on his face.
