Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 Yotsuya Miko Joins the Sect

Yotsuya Miko had always used this method to escape when targeted in the past, and it never failed.

Moreover, she had also discovered that the activity range of most undead was fixed.

Unless they were completely fixated on her, they wouldn't leave their original location for too long.

It was like monster aggro in an online game; if you ran too far, you'd lose aggro and they'd automatically return.

However, just as Yotsuya Miko was congratulating herself on once again escaping danger, Rosen suddenly jumped out and confronted her.

She didn't even clearly hear what Rosen was saying; her instinctive scream was reflexively suppressed, but her legs wouldn't move at all, as if filled with lead.

The girl, startled by Rosen, went blank, her thoughts stopping.

It took her a few seconds to react even after Rosen started speaking.

Rosen waved his hand in front of Yotsuya Miko's eyes.

"If you don't speak, I'll assume you agree."

At this moment, Yotsuya Miko finally heard Rosen speak, and her nearly stopped thoughts began to turn again.

After all, if it were an undead, the scare she had just received would have been enough to get her eaten alive.

What's more, the man in front of her was much better looking than those undead.

"You..."

Yotsuya Miko was still shaken, then she spoke with little good humor.

"Why did you suddenly chase me?"

"I called you, and you suddenly ran off, so I had no choice but to chase after you."

Rosen shrugged.

Although there was a hint of playfulness in his thoughts, playing too much wouldn't be good.

Yotsuya Miko, hearing his reply, suddenly felt it made perfect sense; she couldn't refute it at all.

She actually wanted to say that she could see undead, and to avoid being noticed, she would pretend not to hear or see any calls from strangers.

But it wasn't as if she hadn't told her classmates or her mother.

Even online, besides being looked at strangely, it was useless and would instead bring endless trouble.

"Girls should protect themselves when out; if there's nothing else, I'll be going, don't call me casually anymore."

Yotsuya Miko was willing to explain because Rosen was exceptionally handsome and her type; if it were anyone else, she wouldn't bother saying a word.

However, the girl clearly didn't want to interact too much with outsiders.

Rosen watched her turn and walk away, not in a hurry, but instead said, "Aren't you even a little curious where the undead that chased you all the way went?"

Hearing this, Yotsuya Miko instantly froze.

Undead?

He... why would he know about undead? Why would he know that undead had followed her on the bus the whole way?

Could he see them too?

Yotsuya Miko couldn't ignore this sentence.

Aside from being startled earlier, the girl's emotions rippled again.

She had been able to see for a long time.

But in order to survive, she had always suppressed this matter, enduring those terrifying undead every day; after half a year, she had already accumulated a pile of repressed emotions.

Although she was fine for now, Yotsuya Miko felt that if this continued, she would eventually go crazy.

Yotsuya Miko had always wanted a companion she could confide in.

Although she had Yurikawa Hana as a friend, she couldn't tell her about this kind of thing.

Now, suddenly knowing that Rosen could see undead, how could she not be happy?

"You can see them?!"

"Not only can I see them, but I also have a way to get rid of them; the undead that was chasing you just now has already been sent to the afterlife by me."

"Sent to the afterlife? Are you a monk?"

"It's just a descriptive term; you can also interpret it as killing them."

"?!"

Yotsuya Miko felt that today was her lucky day.

"You can really kill them? How do you kill them? Can you tell me?!"

Her expression was more excited than ever before.

"It's very simple, just a light touch with your hand is enough, pretty much like those exorcism movies you've seen."

Rosen explained as simply as possible.

"Can you teach me?!"

"Not for now."

The hope on the girl's face instantly turned to disappointment.

However, although she was discouraged, she also felt it was normal.

It wasn't as if she hadn't visited Buddhist temples or shrines to pray for peace in the past. She had bought all sorts of things—sachets, talismans, blessed Buddhist bead bracelets, and even foreign peach wood swords, cursed dolls, and crosses—but all of them were useless decorations, now left to gather dust in a corner.

Even if there were truly ways to deal with spirits in this world, they would be extremely rare, and certainly not something that would be casually passed on to an outsider like her.

However, she did catch the ambiguous word "temporarily."

"Are there any prerequisites? For example... do I need to join a sect or a religion?"

Rosen smiled when he heard that.

Yotsuya Miko was a smart child since she was little.

"Indeed, there are."
