Chapter 6 - Departure! Liyue (2/2)

"…Still not enough."

"…500,000."

"That's perfect! Neuv, you're the best!"

Overjoyed, Furina impulsively leaned in and kissed Neuvillette on the cheek before dashing out of the room.

Neuvillette froze, hand slowly rising to his face. A moment passed. Then he smiled.

"Guard, come in."

"Yes, Lord Neuvillette?"

"Deliver 500,000 Mora to Lady Furina."

"Understood."

Back in her room, Furina collapsed face-first onto her bed, cheeks burning.

"Archons! What was I thinking?! He's going to avoid me forever! That was so embarrassing… maybe it wasn't a total loss? Still! I need to be more dignified!"

Knock knock.

"Lady Furina? I've brought the 500,000 Mora from Lord Neuvillette."

"I'm here! Just a moment!"

She splashed cold water on her face, composed herself, and opened the door.

After accepting the pouch of Mora, she gave the guard a polite thank-you.

The next morning, Furina stood at Fisherman's Wharf, luggage in hand.

She boarded the ship, leaned against the railing, and closed her eyes as the sea breeze brushed her face.

"So this is what sailing feels like… I lived over twenty years in my last life and never boarded a ship."

Back at the Palais Mermonia:

"Lord Neuvillette, Lady Furina has departed."

"…Thank you, Kiara."

Two days later, Furina's ship approached the borders of Liyue.

At a teahouse near Third-Round Knockout, a man sipping tea and listening to opera glanced toward Guiyun Stone Forest.

"By general rational judgment… Liyue is about to get interesting."

Onboard, Furina's eyes widened.

"That's Guiyun Stone Forest?! No wonder it's called the old man's masterpiece—it's magnificent!"

She smiled. "With his power, he must've sensed me already. I wonder if he'll come greet me at the harbor…"

She paused, eyes drifting toward the horizon.

"The Rite of Descension should be approaching soon. I wonder if the old man's fake death plan is in place yet… Hmm, I wonder if that body is edible. Dragon meat… never tried it before. Ehe~"

Back in Liyue Harbor, the man listening to stories sneezed.

"Huh? Am I catching a cold? No… by general rational judgment, that's impossible."
