Chapter 44 - Survive

The T'au Empire's subsequent actions made Zeke feel even more that they were a vassal that could be subdued.

Unlike other hellish civilizations, in times of crisis, ordinary civilizations see their high-ranking officials leave first, followed by the common people.

And in reality, those common people are basically unable to escape.

However, the T'au Empire's performance genuinely made Zeke regard them highly.

They first ensured their Ethereal boarded the battleship, and then began boarding civilians. Aside from a small number of Fire Caste warriors slowly boarding to protect these civilians, some Fire Caste members temporarily remained on the planet's surface.

What was even more outrageous was that the Ethereal boarding was merely an ordinal. In reality, when the Ethereal boarded the transport ship, others were also boarding at the same time.

It was clear that these people were actually treated as equals.

Even the vassals who had joined their the greater good were treated the same; it was very clear that these people were equals.

One can only say that this civilization was truly messed up by GW, that unreliable company.

These guys had various characteristics of Asian countries and civilizations from the 2K era merged into them, even including the characteristics of Zeke's former country.

Prioritizing the people, a world of great harmony, and equality for all—these traits were forcibly instilled into the T'au Empire by GW.

They even copied the caste system, but the caste system they copied was extremely absurd.

While promoting equality, they made the Ethereal superior to other tau but simultaneously equal.

This was a very illogical situation; they determined what people born into their society would do, yet they emphasized equality. Honestly, Zeke had never seen anything so awkward.

It was still the same saying: if they weren't constantly shouting about the greater good, they would definitely have a chance to survive.

Compared to some civilizations that would be decisively purged by the Terran Dominion, this civilization did make Zeke feel a slight bit of leniency towards them, an influence from his homeland's past.

However, although they might survive if they could change their constant shouting of 'the greater good' and their tone of voice in the future...

That doesn't include now.

The emergence of the Terran Dominion must not be known by anyone, including the T'au Empire.

None of the tau on this planet can escape.

Anything that happens in this star system must absolutely not be known by any civilization or nation.

He, Zeke, wanted to quietly farm here, and no one was allowed to bother him.

Only by possessing his own planet could he develop his technology to its maximum potential.

Only by having a planet where he could develop himself could he achieve the best results.

A characteristic of P-type games is to farm to a certain extent, then snowball to directly crush any enemies in the way. If you can't beat them, you obediently return to continue farming.

To buy himself enough time to farm, to allow his civilization to take shape, and to establish some foundation before the Dominion's army and the Dominion arrive, giving himself some self-preservation capability, Zeke decided to do his best!

However, this matter would proceed in two steps. The first thing was to ensure secrecy as much as possible, preventing anyone from knowing that he had occupied a planet here.

This was to avoid interference from other alien civilizations, as well as those boring Inquisition, Department of Affairs, and Department of Military Affairs guys from the Imperium of Man, who would also come to collect some so-called tithe from him.

In short, Zeke didn't want any of this, nor did he need the protection of the Imperium of Man. He hoped the Imperium of Man wouldn't come.

After all, the tithe was not a small sum, and Zeke was so poor now that he really didn't want to give out a single penny.

Of course, if he were unfortunately discovered, he could pretend to be under the banner of the Imperium of Man.

Again, he had a family behind him. The strength of House Yaeger exceeded Zeke's expectations; they were a knight house with their own representative at the high lord meeting on Terra.

Getting a planet for a junior member of his family shouldn't be a big problem.

If he were truly discovered, then the family would intervene to keep this planet as Zeke's land, and then a small tithe could be paid.

But again, he, Zeke, was a bit reluctant.

For a civilization's leader, all kinds of development resources in the early stages of civilization are crucial, and he truly didn't want to waste any.

Twelve hours passed quickly, and the tau had already loaded most of their people onto transport ships.

Their organization and execution capabilities were still very strong.

However, it might also be related to the fact that there weren't many people on this planet to begin with. Excluding humans, there were only 20 million tau citizens on this planet in total.

After all, this planet originally belonged to humans, and the number of humans here was the largest. This was once a timber planet of the Imperium.

This industrial planet had a large number of hive cities, and the human population was a staggering 8 billion!

This number could be considered relatively small among the Imperium's planets, but considering it was a timber world, this population was still a bit high.

After 12 hours, Zeke should have directly dispatched ground forces to clear out the xenos on the entire planet, but in reality, Zeke did not do so.

Undoubtedly, the T'au Empire's actions gave Zeke a slight fondness for them, so he didn't mind letting these people live a little longer.

As the 24th standard hour passed, all the people on the entire planet were finally loaded onto transport ships by the T'au Empire. After all loading was complete, the T'au Empire also sent Zeke a communication request.

Zeke naturally wouldn't refuse. He also wanted to hear what these tau wanted to say, so he chose to accept.

On Zeke's holographic quantum display block, an Ethereal Supreme of the T'au Empire immediately appeared.

"Thank you for your generosity; we will not forget your benevolence towards us."

The Ethereal Supreme of the T'au Empire bowed to Zeke according to their own etiquette.

As expected of the only peculiar civilization in this hellish galaxy, truly, their peculiarity exceeded Zeke's expectations. This was a relatively polite civilization.

Zeke, who had never had any interaction with these tau until now, spoke up this time.

"Congratulations, your actions have earned your civilization a chance to survive. As for whether you can seize this opportunity, that depends on yourselves."

The Ethereal Supreme on the other side clearly didn't understand what Zeke's words meant, but Zeke clearly wasn't going to continue speaking with them and unilaterally cut off the communication.

The T'au Empire's attitude towards civilians and their polite demeanor undoubtedly made Zeke willing to give them a chance, but the prerequisite was: get rid of 'the greater good'!

Of course, this was only for their entire civilization; they had a possibility of continuing. For this group of people who boarded the transport ships, they still had only one path: death.

Zeke could decide to allow their civilization to be preserved because of their actions, but that didn't mean he would add trouble for himself.

Although the T'au Empire didn't understand what Zeke meant, they didn't linger and began to leave.

As they advanced, perhaps they didn't even realize they were entering a Warp trap.

The death of these tau was already a certainty—
