Chapter 41 - Aquila

Zeke's fleet remained at the farthest reaches of the star system, watching the two confronting fleets from a distance.

The necron dynasty, to use a term from Stellaris, is similar to Mechanical Ascension; they have replaced their entire bodies with mechanical forms, albeit more advanced living metal.

This civilization also possesses arc weapons, which are the battleship weapons found in the mid-to-late game of Stellaris empires. These noble, armor-piercing weapons are extremely powerful.

Although Zeke didn't know much about this empire, as he had basically only seen some fabricated information through long xia.

This didn't prevent him from understanding arc weapons. At this moment, Zeke was like a miser; he didn't want his fleet to suffer any losses.

After all, he currently had no way to replenish his fleet, so he was incredibly stingy.

Given that the immediate gains weren't that significant, Zeke had no intention of taking the initiative to attack.

Otherwise, given his past personality as a Civilization Master, he would have been all in!

Zeke's fleet watched from afar as the two fleets approached each other. The necron fleet showed no intention of yielding.

They still intended to proceed to the target area for mining, while the T'au Empire fleet was incredibly resolute.

The tau fleet commander stood on the bridge, a wary glint in his mercury-colored eyes.

He watched the three strangely shaped necron warships ahead, his tentacle-like communicators trembling slightly.

"Children of the greater good," his voice echoed through the fleet via the communicator, "these ancient machine undead have rejected our offer of peace. For the benefit of the greater good, we must stop them.

They have no right to set foot on the lands of the greater good!"

The tau warships immediately changed formation, their ion cannons began to charge, and war commenced once more.

This was the second time Zeke had witnessed the outbreak of war, but unlike his helplessness the first time, this time he was confident of victory.

Moreover, he was the fisherman who would benefit from the squabble between the snipe and the clam.

As the necron warships and the T'au Empire warships clashed, Zeke's Terran Dominion warships observed this rare spectacle from a distance.

Let them continue to fight like dogs; the Terran Dominion fleet simply waited far off for their ultimate outcome.

While observing the two factions' armies in combat, they continuously gathered specific combat data and capabilities of the necrons, preparing for future engagements with them.

As for the weak T'au Empire, the Terran Dominion did not take them seriously. Their warships were too weak, so weak that even the phase disintegrator cannons on a cruiser could directly destroy them.

The outcome of this space battle was almost determined the moment it erupted, but the Terran Dominion still wanted to continue observing the necron's specific combat power.

Everyone watched the show quietly, and soon two days passed.

The space battle reached its conclusion, and the T'au Empire's last warship was destroyed.

Everything seemed to have settled.

The necron dynasty's mining vessels began to move forward, preparing to commence mining, and at this moment, Zeke put down the watermelon he was eating.

After the Dominion's fleet arrived, Zeke's life improved. He could eat whatever he wanted, unlike when he was with his family.

His family was indeed powerful, but even for a family as powerful as his, he couldn't eat watermelon from Terra because it was already extinct.

After the Dominion's fleet arrived, Zeke once again tasted refreshing watermelon. It was the best watermelon he had eaten in 19 years.

"The war between the necrons and the T'au Empire is over. It's our turn to clean up. battleship main cannons, charge and prepare to fire to eliminate the remaining two necron warships!"

"Remember to save the combat data."

Zeke placed the last piece of watermelon rind on the chair beside him, then issued the combat orders.

The fleet slowly began to move, and after initial sub-light speed travel, it rapidly accelerated to super-light speed.

A new war was about to begin!

Their targets were merely the two necron warships—no, mining vessels—that had just finished fighting the T'au Empire. Everything was so clear.

The Dominion's fleet began to close in, and the battleship's main cannons started charging. As both fleets reached firing range, the Dominion's retaliation-class battleship opened fire.

Four incredibly thick beams of particle light were shot out, flying towards the necron Dynasty's mining vessels ahead, followed by two violent explosions.

If the necron's main warships had been present, there might have been a chance to fight, but these necron mining vessels, when met with a volley from the Terran Dominion's battleship main cannons, were destined for destruction.

The sudden turn of events made the T'au Empire even more desperate. They were already despairing when they encountered the necron mining vessels, and then their protective fleet was completely annihilated.

But what was even more despairing was that the necron fleet that had wiped out their protective fleet was instantly blown apart by a sudden attack.

For a moment, the tau citizens on the planet didn't understand what they had just encountered.

What was all this?

Could the greater good protect them?

On the planet's surface, the tau colonial commander slumped in his command chair, his mercury-colored pupils wide with shock.

On the holographic screen, the necron mining vessels that had just annihilated their fleet turned into space dust in four dazzling light beams.

This was something far beyond their imagination.

Following this, their display panels were directly remotely hacked by Zeke's battleship, and the appearance of the Human fleet appeared before the eyes of the T'au Empire.

This was naked deterrence and threat. The Terran Dominion's fleet appeared before the T'au Empire, but the T'au Empire had no way to deal with this massive fleet.

Perhaps to many, a mere 4 battleships, 8 strike cruisers, 16 destroyers, and 32 frigates might seem like a relatively small fleet. But in the world of Warhammer, four battleships are no ordinary small fry.

A retaliation-class battleship is a full 28.9 kilometers in size. Perhaps for warships, size doesn't necessarily represent its absolute combat power.

But in many cases, size can also represent some combat power.

These are two completely opposite theories, but one thing is certain: the larger the warship, the more advanced the technology of the race that built it.

However, what made the people of the T'au Empire even more confused was that the warships they saw were unlike any they had encountered from any civilization in the galaxy.

And more importantly, those warships bore the red and gold single-headed Aquila.

Such a symbol made them even more puzzled; they couldn't identify which faction this fleet belonged to.

Humans?

Doesn't seem like it.

Humans shouldn't have a single-headed Aquila.

Humans should have a double-headed Aquila, and those people are all religious fanatics who would never proactively seek communication.

Now, the opponent's actions seem to indicate a desire for communication.
