Chapter 22 - Test Run

Although Zeke was not afraid of these Ork Boyz, for his safety, the drop sequence started with his 500 personal guards, followed by 10,000 Space Marines.

The drop operation was like meteors streaking across the sky, with numerous planetary landing craft heading directly towards the Ork Boyz' location.

After all these drops were completed, it was Zeke's turn for his large knight titan drop pod, a gigantic fortress that also began to descend to the ground.

With a deafening roar, Zeke's knight titan drop pod landed on the ground. The massive fortress stood among the Ork Boyz, and then a mighty horn blast, like something from ancient times, resonated from within the knight titan fortress.

Oooooh—

Before the Ork Boyz could react, the fortress gates slowly began to open, and the drawbridge was lowered.

Immediately after, the Space Marines who were already inside Zeke's drop pod began to march out in large strides.

"Waaagh! The filthy xenos are here!" As the fortress gates opened and the Space Marines stepped out, the Ork Boyz became excited.

They brandished crude choppas and rusty firearms, surging towards the fortress like a tide. But what greeted them was the roar of rows of Energy weapons.

"For the Emperor!" The Space Marines fired in unison, instantly tearing apart the Ork Boyz in the front ranks. But this only ignited greater fighting spirit in the orks, and more Ork Boyz surged from all directions.

Just then, a deafening mechanical roar came from deep within the fortress.

Behind these Space Marines, Zeke, piloting his knight titan, slowly began to emerge. Its height of over 20 meters, nearly 30 meters, made the Ork Boyz even more excited for a moment.

"Waaagh, big 'un!"

The Ork Boyz were frantic with excitement; they had never seen such a colossal titan warrior. The Ork Boyz threw aside their shoddy firearms, brandishing choppas and axes, and charged towards Zeke's knight titan like a swarm of mad locusts.

But Zeke merely sneered.

"Foolish beasts."

His Paladin knight titan—"Wrath of the Heavens"—slowly raised its right arm. The massive power gauntlet, "Emperor's Fury," began to charge, its internal energy field humming, and electrical arcs danced across its metal surface.

The next second, he punched down.

Boom—!!!

The ground trembled, and the shockwave instantly sent dozens of Ork Boyz flying. Their bodies directly exploded under the immense force, green flesh and metal fragments scattering everywhere.

But more Ork Boyz, oblivious to fear, continued their charge.

"Sir, heavy unit detected!" Lissa's voice rang out in the comms channel.

Indeed, from the rear of the Ork Boyz horde, a warboss, three times larger than a normal ork, pushed aside the Ork Boyz in its way and strode forward with heavy steps.

It was covered in armor cobbled together from scrap metal, with a massive power claw on its right hand and an exaggerated rocket launcher slung over its left shoulder.

"Waaagh! I'm gonna smash ya, ya big metal can!" The warboss roared, aiming its rocket launcher at Zeke's titan and firing directly.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three rockets whistled through the air. Zeke's titan swiftly dodged, two of them grazing its armor and exploding in the distance. But the third directly hit his left shoulder, and the impact of the explosion made the titan sway slightly.

"Warning, left shoulder armor damaged, dark energy shield reduced by 15%." The machine spirit's mechanical voice echoed in the cockpit.

Zeke narrowed his eyes.

As expected, relying solely on his knight titan to withstand the attacks of these large orks was indeed somewhat unreliable. It seemed he couldn't keep hiding it any longer.

Zeke pulled out a dark energy shield generator from his pocket.

Because his dark energy was not abundant, the shield generator itself was not very large.

As Zeke took out this shield generator, a layer of dark energy shield quickly appeared on the surface of his knight titan.

An indestructible dark energy shield enveloped Zeke's entire knight titan.

And before he could charge forward to teach those Ork Boyz a lesson, his surrounding guard detail bristled first.

In front of them, their lord had actually been hit by a Ork Boyz?

This was simply outrageous.

The Space Marines gathered around Zeke, responsible for covering him, drew their chainswords or power swords.

"Protect the Lord!"

The Space Marines roared, the servo-systems of their power armor emitting a low hum. They surged forward like a torrent of steel, instantly charging towards the warboss.

"For the Emperor! For House Yaeger!"

A torrent of Energy Gun fire became a continuous stream, and the dense curtain of fire tore apart the Ork Boyz around the warboss.

Not a single Ork Boyz could withstand a single hit from the Energy Gun; this was the power of the top-tier Energy Gun custom-made by Zeke himself.

The power of these Energy weapons was even greater than the Empire's plasma guns, and their penetration even surpassed that of melta weapons.

However, despite heavy losses to its subordinates, the warboss grinned ferociously, raised its rocket launcher, and aimed it at the Space Marines squad charging at the front—

"Waaagh! Take this!"

Bang!

A rocket whistled out, about to hit the squad, when Zeke's titan suddenly stepped sideways, and the dark energy shield instantly expanded—

Boom!

The rocket exploded on the shield, but it failed to even create a ripple.

"What?!" The warboss's eyes widened. It had never seen a shield that could completely block its attacks.

Zeke's voice came coldly through the titan's loudspeaker:

"Now, it's my turn."

The plasma engines behind "Wrath of the Heavens" erupted in dazzling blue light. The titan instantly accelerated, charging towards the warboss like a silver lightning bolt.

The warboss roared, swinging its power claw to meet the attack, but Zeke's speed was faster—

Judicator power sword, activate!

Hum—!

The power sword's energy field instantly activated, its scorching blade slicing through the air, bringing with it destructive power as it struck the warboss.

"Waa—"

Before the warboss could finish its words, the power sword had already sliced through its neck.

Swish!

The massive head flew high, green blood gushing out, and the warboss's headless corpse swayed for a moment before crashing to the ground.

The surrounding Ork Boyz instantly froze.

"Boss... Boss is dead?!"

"Run! Boss got chopped!"

The Ork Boyz instantly collapsed and began to scatter. But the Space Marines had already sealed off the battlefield.

There were a full 10,000 Space Marines and 500 Emperor's Custodes present. With such forces, if these mere less than 100,000 Ork Boyz were allowed to escape, they might as well not live.

Zeke's voice echoed across the battlefield, and the Space Marines immediately launched a mop-up operation. The roar of bolters, the hum of chainswords, and the shriek of Energy weapons intertwined into a symphony of death.

The Ork Boyz discovered with horror that their boasted numerical superiority was meaningless in the face of this iron legion.

Or rather, because there were only 100,000 of them, they didn't even have a numerical advantage.

How could 100,000 orks possibly withstand the encirclement of over 10,000 Space Marines, and even 500 Emperor's Custodes?

Whether it was Zeke's dark humor or something else, his personal guard unit also wore golden armor, just like the Imperial Custodes, resembling a large golden corn cob.

As for the so-called blasphemy, it couldn't really be called blasphemy... Their power lances shimmered with destructive light, leaving behind only shattered green corpses wherever they passed.

"Hahaha! Run! Keep running!" A space marine laughed wildly, his power sword slicing an escaping Ork Boyz in half at the waist.

Being on the battlefield for the first time, they even acted crazier than the Ork Boyz. After all, they had only ever trained in virtual pods; nothing compared to the thrill of actually stepping onto a real battlefield.

Now, these soldiers, who were once just ordinary people, having gained semi-divine power, naturally couldn't resist using it.

Zeke stood in the center of the battlefield, his dark energy shield glowing with a faint blue aura in the sunlight.

He surveyed his surroundings, and after confirming the battle was decided, he opened a full-frequency communication:

"Report casualties."

"Sir, our losses are minor." Lissa's voice came through. "Only 7 Space Marines are lightly wounded, with no fatalities."

As Zeke's retinue knights, to be honest, they had never seen such a battlefield. Although their lord said these weren't Space Marines, their combat power and fighting style... well, it was hard to say, but they didn't feel there was any difference between their lord's auxiliary force and Space Marines.

And those soldiers in golden armor made them feel even more bewildered.

These gleaming golden armored soldiers were clearly much stronger than the surrounding warriors who resembled Space Marines; their reactions were even in the nanosecond range.

Zeke nodded with satisfaction. Such a battle outcome was within his expectations—

After all, the equipment of this army was personally modified by him, and the genes of these warriors were also mostly personally modified by him, so such combat power was to be expected.

Not to mention the Ork Boyz' shoddy weapons, which could barely penetrate the Space Marines' ceramite armor, and on top of that, his warriors were all equipped with basic shields.

With such defensive capabilities, the fact that anyone was injured made Zeke somewhat displeased. He'd have to give them extra training when they returned.

Just then, the ground suddenly vibrated violently.

"Warning! Large-scale underground energy signature detected!" The machine spirit's alarm blared urgently.

Zeke frowned: "All units, fall back!"

No sooner had he spoken than the ground burst open! A gigantic mechanical beast emerged from underground—it was a Squiggoth beast, modified by the Ork Boyz, covered in rusty metal plates, with several crudely constructed cannons mounted on its back.

"Waaagh! Big surprise!" A Big Mek, hiding in the distance, danced with excitement.

The giant beast let out a deafening roar, and the cannons on its back fired simultaneously.

Boom! Boom! Boom!
