For a moment,
we thought that was it.
This was how we die
devoured by a damn ghost in a house that had a literal mouth.
I legit closed my eyes.
Then
CLINK.
A coin hit the ground.
But it didn't just fall.
It rang like a rose petal made of metal touching water.
Soft.
Sharp.
Haunting.
And instantly
everything snapped back to normal.
The walls stopped breathing.
The mouth vanished.
The doors stopped shaking.
Creepy as hell…
but it saved our lives.
We just stood there,
eyes wide,
trying to catch our breath.
The Fear We Tried to Hide
Nami
slumped down, hugging her knees.
"Yo damn… I ain't even gon' lie.
I was scared the whole time,"
she muttered, eyes closed.
"Thought that was it.
I was just tryna act brave 'cause y'all are guys…"
She swallowed hard.
Cairo groaned, wiping blood off his mouth.
"Girl, please.
You think you crazy?
I only acted strong 'cause I was tryna impress you.
I had a damn crush
not a death wish."
He paused.
"Thought that was my final scene for real…"
Renji (me):
"Yo, this sounds crazy but…
y'all the only friends I got since I moved here.
The way we met?
Wild.
The way we became friends?
Dumb as hell.
But I'm glad it was with y'all…
If we died, at least we died together."
We all looked at Kiki.
The damn cat just meowed.
But we nodded anyway.
"Yeah… you tried to kill us before," I said.
"But you still helped.
So thanks, I guess…"
Eli's Vanishing
CLINK.
Another coin sound.
We turned just in time to see Eli get yanked into darkness
like some unseen force dragged her away.
Her scream echoed once…
then silence.
We didn't know who saved us.
We didn't care.
It was over.
We dusted ourselves off,
too tired to even celebrate,
and dragged our half‑dead bodies back to Nami's house
'cause my house was GONE
(thanks to Big‑Ass Kiki smashing it earlier).
We knocked.
Yura opened the door, all confused
And all three of us collapsed on her floor
like corpses.
We slept at the entrance till morning.
End of Meeting Break
Monday First Day Back
The school yard was loud as hell.
Kids bragging about their break:
"I went shopping!"
"I visited the city!"
"I went to my grandma's!"
"Bro I beat this new game!"
Everybody talking like they survived paradise.
Meanwhile, I stood alone at the corner,
backpack half‑open,
waiting for Cairo and Nami.
My mind was still stuck on Eli.
The coin.
The vanishing.
That ghost house.
Everything.
It was over…
But something in my chest said:
This ain't the end.
This is the start of a new day
and a new nightmare.
