"Levi, stop looking. No one will be willing to help us." Holding the other's hand gently, Harley Rein couldn't bear to see Levi working so hard for her. He was just a child.
"Levi, please believe me, I will be fine. I don't want you to work so hard for me."
Levi covered Harley Rein's hand with his other hand and said:
"I don't believe you about this. You keep lying to me, telling me you're not hungry, telling me you've eaten a long time ago, telling me you didn't faint from hunger. I don't believe you." He stood up and said firmly to Harley Rhine, "I'll find someone to help us. Wait here."
Just as Levi was about to leave, a man appeared in the alley.
Levi quickly stood in front of Harley Rhine and took a protective stance.
"I'm here to take her to see a doctor." Seeing that Harley Rhine was so seriously ill, the man planned to take her to see a doctor quickly.
"Will you really heal her?"
"I will," the man said as he walked to Harley Rhine's side and picked her up.
"No... no, I don't want it. I want Levi, wuwuwu, Levi, I won't leave." Harley Rhine cried weakly, calling Levi non-stop.
"Be good and listen to me. This uncle will take you to see a doctor and you will get better."
"Wow, wow, I don't want it, Levi, Levi."
Harley Rhine struggled hard to free half of her body from the man's arms and leaned back. Levi was held by her hand from behind and followed the man closely.
"I won't leave. I'm here. Please be good, okay?" Levi couldn't break free from her tight grip on his hand. This little girl still had so much strength even when she was sick.
After a while, Harley Rhine fainted due to exhaustion, and the little hand that was tightly holding Levi also loosened.
Levi followed them until he saw the man carrying Harley Rhine into a small clinic.
Levi followed behind but did not go into the clinic. He climbed onto the windowsill and watched what was happening inside.
He saw the doctor inside busying around Harley Rhine, and gradually, Harley Rhine's breathing became steady.
After entering the clinic, Levi approached Harley Rhine cautiously.
"She's fine. You can go home and come see her here tomorrow." The man looked at Levi. He knew that Harley Rhine asked him for food just for this boy, so he kindly told him.
"Okay." Levi took another look at Harley Rein who was sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed, and left the clinic looking back every step of the way.
When Levi returned home, he felt for the first time that the house was cold and without a trace of warmth. Without the little girl who cried and begged him to eat, the place was so quiet that only the sound of his own breathing could be heard.
