Chapter 53 Necessary sacrifice
In the Temple of Fate, the God King Kronos, full of confusion, came before the three goddesses of fate and asked:
"Beautiful goddesses, I don't know why you suddenly called off this attack. I think this is a great opportunity. If we can completely defeat them, they will never be able to gain a foothold in this world again."
"But now, this perfect opportunity has been missed. They have successfully established themselves in this world. If we want to strike them again in the future, I'm afraid it won't be so easy."
Kronos was somewhat dissatisfied.
He had been preparing for this attack for a long time. He believed that if he joined forces with the Titan god Iapetus, even if he could not devour those rebels again, he would be able to severely dampen their fighting spirit.
As long as they lose badly enough, all the other gods who are watching this battle will understand how ridiculous the so-called rebellion of Zeus and his gang is.
But even in such an important battle, he was hastily stopped before he even had the chance to display his divine power.
It is no exaggeration to say that if only Prometheus had stepped forward to stop Kronos, he would not have chosen to stop. It was only after he heard the three goddesses of fate say the same thing that he hesitated and finally chose to give up.
If he didn't trust these three goddesses enough, he would even suspect that this was Taren's conspiracy.
But even though he believed in the three goddesses of fate very much, he was still full of doubts at this moment. If these three goddesses could not give him a satisfactory answer, he was afraid that the trust accumulated over thousands of years would disappear completely.
Because he is such an extremely suspicious God King.
Facing the questioning of the God King, the three goddesses of fate remained very calm. They spoke together, their three voices blending together and echoing in the temple, clear and long:
"Your Majesty, the great Divine King, this is certainly a great opportunity, but it is far from perfect."
"We have a better opportunity, and if you can seize it, maybe you can put an end to this ridiculous mess."
When Kronos heard this, he quickly asked, "Beautiful goddesses, what time are you talking about?"
"We've caught a glimpse of fate. Soon, Zeus, the leader of the rebels, will travel alone into the void. If you rush over now, you might just meet him."
"This is better timing, isn't it?"
When Kronos heard this, his eyes suddenly lit up. He knew very well what this meant. If he could devour the strongest Zeus, the other gods would be nothing to him.
And if they could capture the lone Zeus, it would indeed be a better opportunity than attacking Olympus just now!
Thinking of this, Kronos's doubts about the three goddesses of fate and Prometheus completely disappeared. He even felt a little guilty that he had doubted them before.
But he didn't have time to thank them now. He hurriedly said goodbye to the three goddesses and rushed straight into the void.
At the same time, he secretly thought in his heart that if this prophecy was true, he must find a way to thank these three goddesses.
…
At the same time, in the endless void, Zeus exclaimed from the bottom of his heart: "Great Prince Taren, your power is amazing."
"With your help, I believe victory will eventually belong to us."
This is all true.
Taron agreed to take action and was willing to hold back the most difficult Kronos. Zeus was even overjoyed.
He had actually thought about begging Taron to take action a long time ago, but the other party was too mysterious, and the power he displayed was too frightening, so Zeus did not dare to speak easily.
He was afraid that if he spoke rashly he would offend the other party, and he was also afraid that he would not be able to give a reasonable compensation. He already owed Tarun too much and he could hardly pay it back.
But now that it was Tarun who offered to help, he certainly wouldn't refuse. He also felt that since the other party had offered it on his own initiative, the reward should not be too difficult for him to accept.
Thinking of this, he spoke very proactively: "Your Highness, the great Taren, you have helped me so much, how can I thank you?"
"No need." Tarun said with a smile, "You deserve it."
Zeus was somewhat bewildered upon hearing this. The young god, still unaware of the dangers of the divine realm, humbly asked, "Why do you say that? What have I done?"
Tarun did not answer his doubts, but asked an irrelevant question instead: "Are you willing to pay a price for the ultimate victory?"
Zeus instantly became alert after hearing this. He hesitated for a long time before asking tentatively, "What kind of price, for example?"
"Injured, or humiliated." Tarun's attitude remained gentle. He spoke in a non-oppressive, almost negotiating tone, "You know, Prometheus is my subordinate god."
"He needs to gain Kronos's trust before he can help us. Therefore, we need to leak some information when necessary."
As soon as these words were spoken, Zeus immediately showed a thoughtful expression. He probably understood what Taren meant.
For an undercover agent, the best way to prove that he is trustworthy is to reveal some key and important information, or even deliberately lose some important battles.
There is nothing wrong with this. Some necessary small losses are just for the sake of greater benefits in the future, which is completely acceptable.
Thinking of this, Zeus said seriously: "For the ultimate victory, these insignificant failures are nothing. As long as we win in the end, I am willing to pay a price for it. This is what I should do."
At the end, he deliberately emphasized his tone, and his meaning was very clear, that is, he could cooperate with Taron to pay some price to gain the trust of Kronos, but the prerequisite was that they must win in the end.
"Don't worry, fate will favor you." Tarun said with a smile: "The final victory will definitely belong to us."
Hearing this, even Zeus couldn't help but feel happy, but he knew very well that there is no help without reason in the world. Even though he already owed Taren a lot and couldn't repay it at all, he still took the initiative to ask:
"Kronos's retreat at this moment has allowed us to successfully gain a foothold in this world. This has solved a big problem for us. Your Highness Taren, what do I need to pay?"
Future help is a matter for the future, and the price can be negotiated later. Kronos' retreat is a fact that has already happened, so he decided to discuss the reward for this matter first.
But what he didn't expect was that Tarun said: "You have already paid the price in advance for this matter."
Seeing Zhou's puzzled expression, Tarun smiled mysteriously and said, "You'll know soon."
"Remember what you said now. In order to win in the future, some sacrifice is necessary."
Zeus nodded blankly. At this moment, he didn't know what was waiting for him.
