Ruby's POV
Kate's eyes widened as she looked at me, like I was some stranger who had materialized out of thin air.
Beside her, Stanley went rigid for a heartbeat before his expression shifted completely. His gaze turned predatory, intense. He was undressing me with his eyes right there in front of everyone, just like half the men gathered around us.
"Why is she here?" Kate's voice came out sharp and bitter.
"Like I already explained, she's with me tonight," Justin replied, keeping his arm firmly around my shoulders.
"Absolutely not! I refuse to allow her into my event! You have no idea what kind of shameless things she's been up to."
"You mean those wild stories you've been spreading about Ruby?" Justin interrupted, his tone turning cold. "What does any of that garbage have to do with me?"
"She has no morals, Mr. Muller!"
"Right, you've been telling everyone she enjoys male company. Honestly, I'm hoping she'll consider adding me to that list of admirers."
