Chapter 2 - A Show that makes the audience question their life

He took just a few steps and was about to cross the highway when a truck appeared on the opposite side of the road, blaring its horn and halting.

Since university entrance exams hold huge importance in Korea, traffic police would never allow someone driving such a noisy truck onto the road. Of course, that was a different story if they took a bribe.

There could only be one explanation for such a loud truck rapidly approaching Leo, swerving left and right.

A truck with failed brakes.

"Hey, kid, watch where you're going!"

"Hey, be careful!"

"Damn it, brat, are you blind?"

Meanwhile, the crowd noticed Leo crossing the road, oblivious to the world, and immediately shouted, trying to warn him to be careful.

Of course, Leo already had a guess about what kind of good luck event was about to happen to him.

He had encountered a situation just like this many times before, which was why he was completely calm.

He calmly turned to his right to look at the truck approaching him, not even attempting to flee.

8 out of 10...

Forget a truck with failed brakes; a group of armed soldiers couldn't kill him right now.

And the expected event unfolded:

A student, probably a middle schooler, speeding on his bicycle from a side street, suddenly emerged onto the main road. He immediately noticed the truck and violently turned the handlebars fully to the right.

This steering maneuver didn't exactly save the student's life, but it didn't completely fail either. The moment the student turned the wheel, he fell off the bicycle and crashed into one of the lampposts lined up along the roadside.

And at that very moment, the bicycle, which had shot out from underneath the student, flew directly into the path of the truck.

Can a bicycle stop a truck?

If the bicycle is crushed under the truck's left tire, and a piece of the wreckage gets jammed between the truck's chassis and the road on the right side, and the truck is about to tilt to the left due to the driver, it won't stop—but the truck's right side will lift into the air.

As the mothers and fathers waiting for their children to emerge from the most important exam of their lives feared they were about to witness Leo being crushed under the truck, the truck's right side suddenly flew up into the air.

There were only a few centimeters of space between Leo's head and the truck's right tire.

The truck simply passed Leo by, flipped onto its side, skidded on the street for a while, and finally came to a stop after crashing into a storefront by the roadside.

Leo calmly savored the adrenaline he had just secreted, like an Englishman enjoying his afternoon tea, and briefly wondered if anyone had died in the store the truck had hit.

Even if someone truly had died, he was neither a doctor nor had he ever received professional first-aid training.

Knowing there was nothing he could do, he put his hands in his pockets and continued walking calmly.

The people around him were naturally dumbfounded by his composure. The sound of people swallowing reminded everyone how dry their own throats were.

Was Leo truly completely calm?

Ha ha...

Absolutely not.

Was he scared?

Absolutely not.

He was simply imagining the reactions of the surrounding people to his behavior and secretly enjoying it.

For a moment, he put himself in their shoes and considered what had just happened.

Definitely an S-Tier moment.

An example of madness that would be remembered for decades and probably told to grandchildren.

Indeed, many people could not react until Leo disappeared from view. Even the helpful and brave individuals who ran towards the truck wreckage turned back every couple of steps to look at Leo's receding figure.

Leo continued to walk on, oblivious to everything, and turned into a side street. He kept going until the golden thread floating above his head slowly turned into a liquid and poured itself into the good luck energy tube floating with him in the air.

In a single go, 40% of the energy tube filled up, which was a massive amount.

There was something Leo didn't know:

Until the moment Leo's luck energy collecting test tubes disappeared, a strange-looking white cube, made with nano-technology, was speeding toward him at the speed of light from the vast universe, a journey that had taken millions of years.

When Leo's cheat disappeared, this cube stopped right above the earth and ceased moving. That is, until a strange energy fluctuation, like a ripple, suddenly occurred on the cube, transforming it into a hexahedron bipyramid shape (two pyramids joined at the base).

Leo walked a little further, then hailed a taxi and set off for home.

After a half-hour walk, Leo was about to arrive home. He called out to the taxi driver and asked him to briefly stop at the corner store.

The taxi driver, who was in his late forties, stated that he could stop, but the meter would continue to run for the duration of the stop.

Leo smiled, said it was no problem, and entered the market to buy groceries for dinner.

Leo is the child of an American father and a Korean mother. Since his parents have spent most of the last three years abroad, they frequently send Leo pocket money.

Leo's father is a man who decided to spend his life traveling the world instead of trying to further grow the company he founded in America and made moderately successful at a young age. He met Leo's mother in Korea during these travels.

They lived in Korea for a while after Leo was born, until he was old enough.

As soon as Leo was old enough to handle his daily affairs on his own, both his mother and father left him in Korea to continue their world travels.

In short, while Leo isn't a multimillionaire, he receives more pocket money from his father every month than the average civil servant's monthly earnings.
