Alek looked around, with stars in his eyes.
''Are you serious?''
''Yes, It looks much different than earth doesn't it?'' The man said with a serious face
''I guess so. Anyway, what did you do to me yesterday? Why do I feel so weird?''
''I broke the barrier inside your heart''
''the barrier inside my heart?'' Alek asked
''You know the legend about the barrier, right? And how it locked away humanity's powers?''
''I think I heard about it at school'' Alek tried to recall
''Yeah, it's mostly true. There really is a barrier that makes us humans unable to use powers. Well, there are two actually: one around the whole earth and one around the heart of every human. The one around the heart is very easy to break, so I broke it for you.'' The man said with a serious expression again
''Why did you do that?''
''I wanted to show my thanks for you saving me yesterday. You should feel a little better than usual. That's the reward for helping me.'' The man said with a kind smile
''So I'm able to use powers now'' Alek asked with a smile on his face
''No, you don't know how'' The man in a hoodie said while scratching his neck
''Can you teach me then?'' Alek said in excitement
''No'' The man replied coldly
''That's why I was looking for you, I wanted you to teach me.''
''Teach you what exactly?''
''How to fight'' Alek replied ''Even though that man had a knife, you weren't scared at all and you knocked him out in a single punch. It was the coolest thing I've ever seen. I want to be like you!''
The man in the hoodie looked a little puzzled
''Look kid, what is your name?''
''Alek''
''Listen Alek, I know you saved my life and all, but I'm not a teacher, I'm an adventurer. Do you know what that means?''
Alek shook his head
''It means I explore the universe, risking my life every day. Do you really want to live a life like that?''
''Yes'' Alek said with conviction
The man in a hoodie though for a little and then said ''Do you really mean that?''
Alek nodded his head
''Are you free tomorrow?''
''Yes!''
''Your parent won't be worried if you are gone for a little while?''
''No, they trust me to go out on my own if I tell them I'll be careful.'' Alek said with a smile
''Good, then meet me here at 10 am tomorrow''
''Yes, master'' Alek replied cheerfully
