Chapter 4 - Resolve II

-5 minutes ago, outside of the bar-

"Ugh my head hurts" Hana wakes up in confusion as she starts slowly recalling what had happened, she remembered she was sent to another world, which was a fact she thought was quite unbelievable. Beside her was a round glass object with an arrow inside of it pointing north of her.

She remembered when Truck-God said one of them would be left with a compass. She quickly grabbed the compass, staring it at in the palm of her hands."This must be the Key Compass Truck-God talked about." She wondered if she could pull off the quest that was assigned to her and her friends.

She had looked around and didn't see any of her friends. She was alone, and it was up to her to make sure she didn't lose the compass.

Hana took notice of her surroundings, it was like she was sent to the wild west judging from the old wooden buildings, "I thought this was supposed to be another world, did I just get sent back to the past?"Hana thought to herself. However, she quickly understood this place was not earth like she thought, as earth didn't casually have men walking out of buildings ranging from heights of 8ft, to 9ft with body proportions that seemed impossible.

Hana quickly dusted herself off and stood up from the ground. She was quite hungry, so she started to look around for buildings that potentially had food to offer, but she didn't have any money, she didn't even know the currency this world uses.

Quite a distance away from her was a small wooden building stamped "Burkleys Bar" with a few men walking out of it grinning.

"Heh, hey Captain, you see that girl right there I think she has a Log Pose in her hand..." Buckler said while snickering with a mischievous smile on his face.

"Well speak of the devil, it seems like it's our lucky day"Charles Don says with a sense of excitement, as if the day couldn't get any better.

The Pirate Crew slowly starts approaching Hana, all of them snickering as if they found a pot of gold in an abandoned house, today it seemed luck was on their side.

Hana noticed the group approaching her, she instantly knew these people were up to no good with their devious smirks.

"What do you guys want...?" Hana uttered with a nervousness in her voice as the pirate crew continued to approach her sneering.

"You have something we need little lady, that compass. give it to us, and we'll let you off without hurting your little fragile body" Buckler blurts out while giggling.

Hana was visually scared, she knew she couldn't lose this compass, it was her only way of seeing Eli again. She couldn't afford a loss like this, she wouldn't.

"Hey Buckler quit taunting the little lady and snatch that compass from her already."  Charles says commandingly to Buckler while slowly growing impatient.

A rush of emotions came over Hana, the memories of her and Eli flooded her mind, the thought of not being able to see him again made her physically unwell.

Buckler approached Hana snickering and licking his lips, he pulled out his cutlass and pointed it towards her

"This is your last chance little girl, hand it over and I promise I won't hurt you that bad."  Buckler says chuckling with his discomforting smirk

Hana stood there, not budging an inch for these pirates. It was a commendable feat, to face death head on. But it wasn't anything she hadn't done before, she had known what it felt like to die, to feel your own life fading from you, that feeling of perishing from the world.

But Hana didn't feel resentment or anger for these pirates, after all Hana had no clue on why they wanted the compass, what only came to mind was the idea maybe they had lost a love one too just like her. Maybe they also wanted to bring their loved one back. A sense of sonder rushed onto Hana.

So Infront of Hana wasn't enemies to her, she has no enemies, just obstacles.

Buckler looked at Hana, a girl who was once shaking like a rabbit is now staring at him with a look of pity. He felt instant embarrassment and anger, he thought maybe she looked at him as the weak link of the pirate crew.

His forehead tightened making his veins visible as day. He felt disrespected, he let a loud groan followed by a loud declaring of that anger "HOW DARE A WEAK LITTLE GIRL LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT, YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT B*TCH"

Buckler raised his cutlass and swung it downwards in a swift motion towards Hana.

Hana managed to swiftly evade the slash by Buckler, Hana was surprised with herself being able to dodge such a swift attack. If that had happened in her original life she definitely would of been split in half.

Buckler was in rage, "HOW DID SHE ESCAPE MY ATTACK" he thought, he was one of the fastest swordsmen in the Donning Crew and that was something he was prideful of, and certainty how he accumulated a bounty of 8 million within the Donning Crew.

Buckler continued to be offensive, he lunged forward with all his might about deliver a swift slash towards Hana's neck.

Buckler's lunge propelled him in front of Hana, and in a swift motion, delivered a thrusted stab that was meant to pierce her heart.

Hana managed to quickly sidestep out of cutlass trajectory path that almost pierced her heart, again successfully evading another close attack. For some reason, Hana had found his movements to be quite slow, almost as if she was slowing time down, but this wasn't the case, to her, he was just slow.

Buckler was enraged with how she was able to easily avoid his onslaught of attacks. That had done it for him, he was in pure rage. If he missed one more time the pirate crew would laugh at him for days about how he couldn't even graze this small little girl who seemed like nothing more than a civilian.

Buckler relaxed his body and put himself in a position as if he was going to lunge towards her. Buckler was someone who was known to be swift with his blade, but he knew there would be a day where he needed to be faster... stronger.

And so, every day he practiced the same attack, he practiced it so much he even named the attack, and eventually he dreamed of going toe to toe with his Captain and being respected by Captain Charles Don.

Buckler named this technique: "Buck Slice #1 Horizon Splitter", in a quick lunge that was incomparably faster than his usual attacks, his speed was explosive, and, in an instant, he shortened the distance between him and Hana while his cutlass was in the horizontal trajectory path of her neck.

Hana didn't know much about fighting, but she remembered something her hotheaded friend Zane once told her who was obsessed with MMA.

"You know there's weight classes for a reason, if you're a girl tryna fight some guy who is just physically stronger than you, your best bet is to spray him with mace" says Zane in an uncaring tone being the unfiltered man that he is.

"Thats true.. thats why I always carry mace wherever I go just to be safe. Hopefully I don't find myself in a situation where I don't have any and I need it" Hana says.

"Hmmm, but if push to comes to shove though.. " Zane ponders for a moment thinking about what he'd do if he was in a woman's shoes...

After thinking for a long time, Zane breaks the silence and finally responds with something unexpected but realistic that Hana would use in this battle.

Buckler swung with all his might hoping to put Hana in the grave with this last attack but Hana drops low in a crouching position, just barely avoiding the path of the blade, What was meant to part her head from her body, only parted a few strands of hair. Hana was surprised by the speed of the attack, but even more surprised with her ability to react to that speed.

Hana in that moment recalled Zane's words from the conversation about what to do in a scenario with someone a lot stronger than her. In that moment of desperation, his response echoed in her mind, and her actions reflected his words, "Just kick him in his fuckin b*lls"

Hana in that moment shifted weight on her body, to maximize the amount of force into the kick, and delivered the strongest kick she's ever given, directly to Bucklers b*lls.

Buckler dropped to his knees, his cutlass falling out of his hands as he puts his hand below his crotch as if he just lost the chance of keeping his bloodline going.

Hana capitalized on this moment of the battle, and with her left hand, shifted the weight of her body to launch strongest hook she's ever delivered straight to his chin.

Buckler fell sideways on the ground, barely keeping himself conscious, he glanced up at the woman who destroyed his pride, his eyes met with hers, "Those eyes... with that crimson hue... Reminds me of that man.." Buckler thought.. Reminiscing about a time where he his life was spared by a Pirate known as "The Strongest Swordsman, Hawk Eye Mihawk."

"Damn you... staring at me like some bug... reminds me of that day that brings me pain." Buckler thought to himself while struggling to keep himself conscious.

Buckler was unable to keep himself conscious, and just like that, Hana had won the battle.
