The calm expression on Nick Fury's face didn't last more than a second.

Behind Henry's smile, he saw not the triumph of the winner nor the satisfaction of the avenger, but indifference.

It seemed as if the steel fortress before him was just a toy that could be crushed with one foot.

Damn, what kind of monster is this guy?!

Touched?

A hint of self-mockery flashed in Fury's eyes.

All he felt now was the chill of death.

He has been through many battles, facing the Nazis, alien invaders, a nd all kinds of vicious criminals.

But he was never afraid, because he always believed that everything was under control.

But today, he began to doubt his ability to control himself.

"You don't seem too impressed, Chief Fury."

Henry kept smiling, but he looked around the messy office and curled his lips.

"The decoration taste is good, but it's not very sturdy. I suggest you change to a more environmentally friendly material next time, such as vibranium. Oh, by the way, Wakanda's vibranium is now exclusively represented by our Stark Industries. Since we are so familiar with each other, I can give you an 8% discount." Talos, who was standing aside, felt his calves trembling.

What kind of monster is this man?!

The punch he just threw not only shattered the energy shield, but the energy emanating from his body even made this battle-hardened Skrull warrior want to kneel and surrender!

He subconsciously glanced at Fury, hoping that his partner would have some solution.

However, only after he saw Fury's face.

He knew it was over, everything was over!

Talos' heart sank.

"Henry Stark." Fury finally spoke, his voice low.

"Do you know what you are doing? You are declaring war on the most powerful organization in the world. You are courting your own destruction."

He tried to regain the initiative using his best words and momentum.

However, Henry seemed to have heard some huge joke and then sneered.

"The most powerful intelligence organization in the world?" He slowly walked towards Fury, and every step seemed to step on the hearts of Talos and Fury.

"Fury, do you have any misunderstanding about the word powerful?"

He stretched out a finger and tapped it lightly on Fury's desk.

"Bang."

A crisp sound was heard.

"In your opinion, hiding in the shadows and using conspiracy and betrayal to manipulate those who are more powerful than you is called being powerful?"

He knocked again. "Bang."

"In your opinion, entrusting the future of humanity to a group of alien squids that don't even have a home is called powerful?"

His fingers dropped again.

"Bang."

"In your opinion, using power that you cannot understand to develop weapons that you cannot control is called being powerful?"

Henry raised his head and looked directly into Fury's angry single eye, the smile on his face slowly fading.

"No, Fury."

"That's not powerful."

"That's stupid."

The moment he finished speaking, he pressed his finger lightly downwards.

"Bang!"

There was no loud bang, no explosion.

The desk quickly broke and collapsed under the gaze of Fury and Talos.

Eventually, the desk was reduced to a pile of scrap.

The atmosphere in the office was a little quiet.

The only sounds were Fury and Talos's breathing, and the faint sounds of explosions outside the window.

Is this really a human?!

Fury looked at the scrap in front of him and felt as if his heart was being gently pressed by the other person's fingers.

Broken.

The cunningness he was proud of was gone as the shadow of death loomed over him.

"Who are you?" he asked the question again.

This wasn't the first time he'd asked this question.

He was now extremely certain that the man in front of him was definitely not just Howard Stark's son.

"Me?" Henry retracted his finger and smiled again.

"I'm just a concerned citizen who can't stand your treacherous behavior."

"Communication is coming in, Henry!" Tony's voice suddenly sounded in Henry's communicator, breaking the tense atmosphere.

"Hey, how's it going over there? Are you having a good chat with that one-eyed guy? Do you want me to fly in and add some background music? How about AC/DC? I think it suits his constipated face right now."

This bastard always knows how to pick the right time.

Henry rolled his eyes in his heart.

"Shut up, Tony," he snapped.

"The protagonist is giving an important speech. As a supporting actor, could you please be more considerate and not steal the show?"

"Speech? I guess it's a one-sided beating?" Tony said with a gloating tone.

"Do you want me to record you using satellite? High-definition 4K footage, so I can sell it to the Daily Bugle later. I've even thought of the title:

'Shocking! The Director of SHIELD's Office Was Demolished by Unknown Persons, and the Reason Behind It Is...'"

"roll!"

Henry directly cut off communication with Tony.

He looked at Fury, whose expression was changing constantly, and shuddered.

"Look, my partner is getting a little impatient. So let's skip all the boring probing and get straight to the point."

He pulled over a chair, sat down with a swagger, and crossed his legs.

"Nick Fury." He said calmly.

"I am not here to negotiate with you, nor am I here to declare war on you."

"I'm here to fire you and send you to see God."

"Fire me?" Fury's eyes flashed with absurdity.

"Why do you do that?"

"Why?" Henry smiled. He pointed to the headquarters engulfed in flames outside the window, and then pointed at himself.

"I want you to get out of this position right now, and you cannot resist. Is this reason sufficient?" He paused, and the smile on his face turned cold.

"Since its inception, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mission has been to protect the world from unknown threats. It's a great idea. But in your hands, it's become distorted."

"You turned it into a hotbed for lies and conspiracies, a tool to satisfy your personal desire for control, and even a time bomb that could betray humanity at any time."

"You betrayed the trust of my father and Aunt Peggy. You betrayed the world's expectations of you."

"So, you're fired. From now on, S.H.I.E.L.D. will be in my hands."

These words exploded like thunder in Fury's mind.

Take over S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Is he crazy?!

What did he think SHIELD was? Stark Industries? Just take it over?

"Don't even think about it!" Fury's one eye burst with anger and madness.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. is a direct subordinate of the World Security Council! It exists to maintain world order! Who do you think you are? A tyrant with immense power? Do you think you can fight the entire world by yourself?!"

"I don't have to fight the whole world." Henry shook his head and looked at Nick as if he were a fool.

"Are you too stupid to be a leader? You think everyone will follow your rules? I just need to get those who truly want to protect the world to stand on my side."

"As for you..." He looked at Fury with indifference in his eyes.

"And your so-called order and back-up plans, in my opinion, are all too fragile."

"Carol Danvers, right?"

Nick Fury was shocked instantly, his one eye widened with only disbelief in it!

His gaze suddenly turned to Talos, who was standing aside and trying to reduce his presence.

"For example, one of your biggest trump cards, the Skrulls." Talos's body shook violently!

"Do you think they will really be willing to work for you all their lives, Fury ?" Henry shook his head again.

"They helped you because you made them a vague promise, like helping them find a new home. But decades later, have you fulfilled your promise?"

"You didn't. You simply exploited their abilities, treating them as the most useful tools to help you monitor the world. You even condoned their infiltration and persecution."

"You..." Talos looked at Henry with shock on his face.

How could he know this?!

"Do you think I don't know, Talos?" Henry looked straight at the other person.

"How many of your people are being used as experimental subjects by Hydra, undergoing all kinds of inhumane transformations? And your immediate superior, the great Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., is turning a blind eye to this."

"Because it would be in his best interest to have a Skrull who would depend on him."

" What he needs is not a powerful ally, but a group of obedient pets."

These words hit Talos hard in the heart.

He wanted to retort, but found that he couldn't utter a word.

Because everything Henry said was true.

Over the years, he had mentioned the disappearance of his people to Fury more than once, but Fury always made excuses and prevaricated the matter. He always thought that it was a problem within S.H.I.E.L.D.

But it never occurred to him that this might be Fury's tacit approval.

"No... Impossible..."

Talos shook his head absentmindedly, looking at Fury, hoping to see a hint of denial on his face.

However, he only saw Fury's gloomy face.

No denial.

It's the default.

Talos' heart sank.

"See, Fury?" Henry spread his hands.

"This is how powerful you are. An alliance built on lies and deception is like a castle on the beach. A wave will hit it and nothing will be left."

He no longer looked at Talos, who was in the midst of a collapse of faith.

His gaze returned to Fury, and his tone grew colder.

"Now, the game is over."

Fury was silent.

He knew that he had no more cards to play.

The Skrulls were already wavering, and his last trump card was far away, making it impossible for it to arrive in time.

He lost.

A complete defeat.

But Nick Fury will never sit still.

There was a madness in his eyes.

Even if he dies, he will drag this bastard who ruined everything for him to hell with him!

His right hand quietly moved to the bottom of the chair armrest, where there was an inconspicuous red button.

That was his last resort, a device powerful enough to blow up the top-floor office.

However, his finger had just lifted and had not even had time to touch the button.

"I know what you're going to do, Fury."
