"Hahahahaha!"
A burst of laughter broke out in the fighter plane.
Tony laughed so hard that he spilled his coffee and pointed at Thor's miserable appearance on the screen.
"The aura of a king? Is this the aura of a king that Henry was talking about? Being stabbed in the butt with an electric baton, sprayed in the face with a water gun, and finally given an anesthetic injection? I have to record this and play it on loop a hundred times when Henry comes back!"
Banner and Blonsky also tried to suppress their laughter, their shoulders shaking constantly.
Only Wanda, looking at Thor's humiliated eyes on the screen, sighed softly.
She could sense that some kind of transformation was taking place in the prince's heart.
"Okay, okay, stop laughing." Tony finally stopped laughing. He wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes and showed a playful smile on his face.
He glanced at the route pointing to Los Angeles on the navigation screen, then looked at the big guy being towed away on the screen, and finally shook his head.
"Jarvis, maintain course, return to Malibu."
"What?" Pietro got up from the ground, looking unsatisfied.
"Tony, should we go help him? Judging from the expression on that guy in the suit's face, he seems to want to slice up that big golden-haired guy and study him."
Tony glared at him and curled his lips: "What are we going to do there? Are we going to disturb my brother's plan?"
He knew Henry too well.
This bastard has his own purpose for everything he does.
Since he pushed Thor out alone, it means that getting caught was also part of his plan.
This whole thing, from beginning to end, was a trap set by Henry for the golden prince.
If I rush down now and rescue the person, not only will Henry's plan be ruined, but that bastard will definitely blame me for a whole month after he comes back, complaining that I ruined his plan.
I won't give him this chance.
"Don't worry," Tony leaned back in his chair, crossed his legs, and looked like he saw through everything.
"My little brother must be hiding in a corner right now, sipping an iced latte and admiring his masterpiece. If we go down there, it would be a waste of time. Let him have fun on his own."
He paused and added, as if he was trying to convince himself, or as if he was talking to the team.
"Besides, we have more important things to do. We need to deal with Hydra's data a nd that poor bastard Peterson. We are professionals, not extras."
Although he said this, Tony's eyes never left the holographic screen.
Henry, you bastard, you better not mess this up.
Cafe, New Mexico.
Henry gracefully stirred the ice in his glass with a spoon. The screen showed Thor being dragged into a makeshift interrogation room.
"Oh, poor Prince." Henry shook his head, his expression devoid of sympathy. Instead, he smiled playfully.
"Welcome to Earth. The first lesson here is that having the biggest fist doesn't necessarily mean you're the boss. Sometimes, a small anesthetic needle can teach you the truth about equality."
His gloating words made Jane and Daisy next to him even more uneasy.
Is he really not worried at all?!
"Mr. Henry Stark!" Jane finally couldn't help herself. She stood up, put her hands on the table, leaned forward, and looked at Henry nervously.
"They took Thor away! Why aren't you worried at all? He's your friend!"
"First of all, let me correct one thing, Dr. Jane." Henry raised his head and gave her a bright smile.
"He's not my friend yet. At most, he's a long-term partner. Secondly, who says I'm not worried?"
He gestured to his holoscreen.
"Look, I'm monitoring this in real time! High-definition, uncensored, first-person perspective. I promise, if they dare to do anything to Thor, like pull out his nails or force him to watch Twilight, I'll rush in and tear down their base in 0.1 seconds."
Daisy grumbled quietly, "I think forcing him to watch Twilight might be more cruel than pulling out his nails."
Henry ignored Daisy's complaints. He looked at Jane, who was anxious, put away his smile, and became serious for once.
"Jane, believe me, all of this is part of my plan. Thor, what he needs isn't salvation, but growth. A prince who grew up in the divine realm, invincible in battle, cannot understand the fragility and courage of mortals. He needs to fall, hit a wall, and be rubbed in the mud before he truly understands what he wants to protect."
Henry shrugged and said nothing more.
What follows is Coulson's interrogation, Loki's lies, and the moment Thor swallows his pride in despair.
These are the tribulations he must go through to become the true God of Thunder.
If he intervened now, it would be like helping a student who was about to take the college entrance examination to cheat. It would seem that he was helping him, but in fact, he was destroying him. His goal was not just to get the hammer back.
Instead, he could take him to Asgard and allow him to come into contact with the complete form of Thor, who was made of uru metal and divine magic.
An immature young man is not worth that much.
Jane looked into Henry's deep eyes. Although she still found his theory a little strange, for some reason, her inner anxiety subsided a lot. This man always seemed to have everything planned out, as if he had everything under control.
"So what should we do now?" Jane sat down again.
"It's simple." Henry closed his laptop.
"Wait."
"Wait?"
"Yes, wait until dark." Henry smiled mysteriously.
"Daytime is about rules, and nighttime is about miracles. Come on, ladies, I'll treat you to dinner. I know there's a great Mexican restaurant nearby, and I hope Your Highness can enjoy such a delicious dinner in his room."
Daisy:
Are you sure you're not trying to piss him off on purpose?
Night falls.
Henry, Jane, and Daisy returned to the trailer.
Thor did not return.
Jane seemed distraught and kept pacing around the trailer.
Daisy, holding a bucket of popcorn, watched with great interest the real-time surveillance footage of the SHIELD base that Henry had called up.
"Wow, they have quite the nightlife. Patrols, infrared, and pressure sensors. This security system is tighter than a bank vault. Thor probably won't be able to get out."
"Don't worry, Jane." Henry leaned on the sofa, playing with a part in his hand, and said casually.
"I just accidentally intercepted the blueprint of their security system. Tsk tsk, it's full of loopholes. For example, the power grid on the north side of the wall has a maintenance window of up to 30 seconds in the early morning every night. And their most advanced motion sensor seems to have difficulty recognizing rain."
As he spoke, he looked up at the clear night sky outside the window.
Jane was stunned for a moment, then she understood something.
She walked to the window and looked at the heavily guarded base in the distance, her eyes becoming complicated.
Is Henry creating opportunities for Thor?
He could have just rushed in to save people. Why did he have to use such a roundabout way?
Henry didn't explain.
He knew that some things could only be done by Thor himself.
He turned on his phone and sent Tony a message.
"The education program is going well. The students are experiencing the Tears Behind Bars segment, and a major prison break is expected tonight. Also, the donuts here are dry and hard. Remember to bring me the best ones from Los Angeles when you get back. Your gardener brother, Henry."
It wasn't long before Tony's message came back.
"I received your teaching report. It sounds like your students are not doing well. I have asked Jarvis to make a GIF of his embarrassing appearance, which will be released at your next party. Also, the donuts you requested are confiscated as punishment for skipping team activities. Your Dean of Students, Tony."
Henry looked at the message and smiled helplessly.
This arrogant guy.
He put away his phone, stood up, walked to Jane's side, and looked at the base in the distance with her.
"Sometimes, when you want to pick up something," Henry said softly.
"You must first learn how to let go."
Jane nodded, not quite understanding.
The night is getting darker and darker.
Henry knew that tonight would be a long night.
In the mud, Thor will undergo the most important transformation in his life.
And Loki, his dear brother, was about to send out the Destroyer.
"Come on." Henry looked at the deep night sky, excitement flashing in his eyes.
"I can't wait to see just how hard the legendary Uru metal is."
