No one had prepared Levi for what he was about to find. On entering the house the carpets were adorned by a trail of blood leading to a room. Levi froze on seeing the trail. A man emerged from the room and to Levi's horror it was a familiar face
"dad?...(in a surprised tone and a shaky voice)"
"son?...what...what are you doing here(surprised)"
"dad... you... you"
"its not what you think... you believe your dad right?"
"I can't believe a murderer"
"what did u just call me? didn't I teach you not to talk back to your father? (approaching Levi intending to slap him)"
"(holding his arm) I'm not your son anymore."
"what!!(fuming)"
"you heard me"
"Levi's dad used his other arm to slap Levi and said to him"
"I'm your superior!!"
Levi looked at him in his eyes and said
"don't try stopping me"
"go ahead and try disobeying me"
"watch me"
and with that Levi walked past his father. His father just said in a low voice
"even if you end up finding her you will never save her"
"and why would I listen to someone like you"
Levi barged into the room where the blood trail lead
"Do...Dorie"
Dorie was on a chair with her head down, blood oozing from her mouth, her hair shaggy and her breaths close to none. Levi hurried by her side.
"Dorie!.. are... are you okay?"
"go... go away..."
"Dorie? Do.."
(this is a really irrelevant point but I'd like you to imagine the song I don't want to say goodbye cause this one means forever by Benson Boone playing)
Those were Dorie's last words. She fell into Levi's arms. Levi was just there I mean what could he do? Dorie was in his arms but lifeless. He had so many words to tell her but now he couldn't. He had so many places to show her so many activities on his bucket list but the one thing that made him shed tears was that he never said those three words to her... I love you... Levi felt as if his heart was aching. His chest was tightening. The was becoming thin each second. He wanted to reach out for his inhaler. He quickly grabbed it from his pocket. He was about to use it but a thought crossed his mind... what was the point to living?... He looked at his inhaler then at Dorie. It was a matter of life and death but to Levi there was only one clear path left. He dropped his inhaler and embraced Dorie in a hug before using his last breath to give Dorie a proper farewell.
"I wish I told you these words before... I... I love you..."
And with that Levi kissed Dorie passionately before collapsing to the ground and dying. At the end of the day it seems that their love was never meant to blossom and their fates were sealed. One dies after being murdered by jealous relatives and the other out of love for the other. I'm sure if they knew the outcomes of their short lives they would probably spend their lives wiser and would have dedicated their lives to each other but once death comes you you can never escape it.
