Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Good Mood

"Mm...? Oh, hey...good morning," Elicia greeted me with a yawn, her head on my shoulder.

"Yeah, good morning," I replied, giving her a light poke on the cheek.

"What time is it...? Have you been up long?" She muttered drowsily, still looking half-asleep.

"No, I woke up about ten minutes ago. And it's just past midday," I informed her.

"M'kay...last night was awesome. Genuinely the best sex I've ever had...also, the first time a guy's gone five rounds with me, and with hardly a break in between. You're way too good at this," She remarked with a wry smile.

"Thanks, you were pretty great yourself. Though, I can't take full credit for my...performance, I doubt it would've felt as good without the Skills I used," I admitted sheepishly.

"Eh, same difference, and even without those, you were pretty amazing. I was pretty fucking turned on even before you used those Skills...speaking of which, it's legitimately insane that you've got Skills that are basically made for sex," She responded in bemusement, before adding, "I'm definitely not complaining though, I had a great time."

"Glad you enjoyed it, and likewise."

"So, uh...I don't want to give you the wrong idea or misunderstand anything, so I'll just be direct and say it. I'm not looking for anything serious, I prefer to keep things casual. I'm not interested in romance right now, and I doubt that'll change for the foreseeable future, so-...," She began awkwardly, before trailing off as I let out a sigh of relief.

"Sounds like we're on the same page...I actually wanted to bring up the same thing, so I'm glad you said it. I was feeling pretty nervous about it, didn't want to end up saying something that could be taken the wrong way or whatever, you know?" I replied with a laugh.

"Yes, exactly, same here! So, I figured I'd just come out and say it directly instead of beating around the bush, glad it worked out," She grinned in response.

"Yeah...that said, I certainly wouldn't be against doing this again some time, so long as you're not opposed to it, of course."

"Oh, I'm absolutely not opposed to it. Actually, I wouldn't mind making this a regular thing," She smiled with a gleam in her eyes.

Gotta say, this is a really nice boost to my ego.

"Sounds good to me. Alright, I should probably get going. I got a message from the Chairwoman, asking me to come to the Union a bit later, so I should head home now," I remarked as I glanced at the time.

"Yeah, I've got stuff I need to do today too. But, before you leave...think you've got time for a quickie or two?"

"Hm...yeah, I think I can spare some time."

...

...

"So sorry I'm late, didn't mean to keep you waiting. I, uh, woke up late," I smiled apologetically, as I took a seat.

"It's fine, you aren't that late, and besides, I asked you to come here on relatively short notice," Responded Charlotte amicably, before adding, "I see your Aura has grown significantly, and you seem like you're in a good mood, did the raid go that well?"

I mean, my good mood isn't because of the raid...not that I'm going to tell her that, of course.

Speaking of Auras, hers is incredible. Since she has the Wind Attribute, her Aura was green in color, and it's definitely the most intense Aura I've seen so far.

Well, to be fair, it hasn't even been a full day since I got the ability to perceive Auras.

"Uh, yeah, it went great. Well, I did kinda screw up at the end with one of my Skills, but that aside, I got some pretty substantial gains," I replied.

"Yes, I got some of the details from the report that Lector submitted, but I'd like to go into more depth about the raid with you, if that's alright."

"Sure, that's fine."

"I'd like to ask you about the Skills you displayed during this raid, that you hadn't used before, at least not openly. To start with, the ability you used to take your weapons out of thin air," She remarked curiously.

"It's basically a dimensional storage space, it works pretty much like the Item Box Skills in video games. I call it Treasury," I informed her.

I'll keep the part where it can make copies of stuff to myself.

"Ah, I see...that certainly sounds really useful, you wouldn't need to carry any supplies since you can just store whatever you need in that space. I also heard that you used an ability that resulted in a pack of Goblins running away from you," She recalled, before looking at me as she waited for my response.

"Yeah, that's another debuff. It weakens any targets hit by it for a few minutes, and also brings out their cowardice."

"Hm...you know, if an Enchanter ever ends up in the same party as you, you'll probably make them feel a bit useless thanks to your debuffs," She replied with a wry smile.

"I mean, I can cast debuffs, but not buffs...well, not on others, anyway."

"Right, and I believe you used another debuff, against the Dungeon Boss? The report mentioned there being a moment where it looked disoriented and confused, but not drowsy, so it couldn't have been the debuff you told me about before, Lethargy."

"Uh, yeah...that one's a bit awkward to explain. It's, uh...it's basically a wave of energy that works like an aphrodisiac, anything it hits ends up in a state of arousal. I call it Aphrodisia," I answered with an awkward, wry smile, before averting my gaze as a bemused look appeared on her face.

"Huh. I, uh...I see. Well, it certainly makes sense why you decided to go with the Sinner for your Hunter Class title," She responded with a slight chuckle.

"Oh, that was in the report too?"

"Yes, it was. Don't worry, I won't be making it official until you stop hiding your abilities publicly," She assured me.

"Thanks, I appreciate it. Alright, I guess all that's left is the last Skill I used, so-..."

"Actually, before we get to that, there's something else I want to ask you about. Specifically, your sword...based on the description of it, it isn't a weapon that's manufactured by the Hunters Armory.

None of the short-swords they sell match its description, a jet-black blade with a purple streak down the middle. So...what's the deal with that weapon of yours?" She inquired with a smile, narrowing her eyes slightly.

Uh-oh.
