Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Sisters Reunited

The divine weapon wielded by Maharishi Rama, even by the standards of Sacred Gears throughout the world, could be ranked among the most powerful artifacts.

"Kiba, don't be discouraged," Takeyo said, studying the blond Knight with an analytical gaze. "I see enormous potential within you. Your Sacred Gear has other possibilities, tremendous possibilities that could give you the ability to cut through even Holy Swords."

Yuuto's attention immediately focused on Takeyo, a slight coldness flickering in his blue eyes at the mention of Holy Swords.

"Takeyo-kun? Has someone told you about Kiba's past?" Rias asked cautiously.

"No, I simply perceived certain things about both the future and the past," Takeyo replied with a cryptic smile. "You could think of it as receiving a divine revelation."

"In any case, just know that your Sacred Gear holds other possibilities. Keep working toward unlocking them."

Takeyo couldn't very well explain that he knew the plot from the original light novels, that Kiba's Sword Birth would eventually evolve into the Holy-Demonic Sword capable of rivaling even the combined power of multiple Excalibur fragments.

The artifacts created by the God of the Bible could be wielded by humans, and sometimes those humans were able to draw forth power beyond even the creator's original design. The Sekiryuutei and Hakuryuukou, both housing the Two Heavenly Dragons, had each surpassed their legendary predecessors multiple times throughout history.

In truth, even without knowing the plot, Takeyo could perceive this.

[Princess Realm]

This ability symbolized the power of Krishna, who took pride in being the incarnation of the cosmos itself. It allowed him to comprehend all things within the universe and see through the essential nature of any existence.

Krishna could perceive the thoughts within a person's mind and discern their origin at a glance. He possessed both clairvoyance and limited future sight.

From a mystical perspective, this could be described as a special type of Magic Eye, one that encompassed all knowledge, allowing him to see through everything.

This skill enabled Krishna to use his divine wisdom for deduction, granting him a restricted degree of future vision. He could perceive the parallel timelines that branched from different choices.

At the same time, this ability wasn't merely for situation prediction. Its greatest function was to teach and guide others, to help them take actions most beneficial to themselves, even if those actions contradicted conventional morality.

Alternatively, it could lead enemies to take actions detrimental to their own interests. This had been demonstrated in the legendary battle between Arjuna and Karna, where Krishna's guidance proved decisive. It could also be used to help others comprehend the Dharma, or even understand the great path of Brahma and Atman unity.

Of course, Takeyo hadn't reached that supreme state yet.

But it was only a matter of time. The power of near-omniscience... he would obtain it eventually.

"Is there truly another possibility for me?" Yuuto asked, staring at his hands.

To be honest, whether he had any potential didn't really matter to him. As long as he could avenge his fallen comrades, that was the only meaning his survival held.

"Well then, I'll be taking my leave," Takeyo said with a slight smile.

Though he enjoyed certain privileges at the academy, he hadn't intended to abuse them from the beginning.

Previously, he'd asked Aika Kiryuu to help explain his absences to their teachers. Missing one or two classes was acceptable, but prolonged absence would be excessive.

"By the way, Koneko, could you come with me for a moment? There's something I need to tell you."

Before leaving, Takeyo addressed the petite Rook.

"Eh...?" Koneko's golden, cat-like pupils rippled with surprise.

Why isn't he asking for the President or Chairman Sona? Why me?

She glanced instinctively at Rias.

"Go ahead, Koneko," Rias said with an understanding smile.

She suspected she knew what Takeyo wanted to discuss.

He'd just mentioned possessing the power of revelation, having glimpsed both past and future events. Perhaps he'd obtained information about Koneko through this ability.

Rias knew her peerage members well. While they were all talented, each carried deep scars.

Akeno was a child of both Fallen Angel and human heritage. Having become a half-Devil through reincarnation, she still harbored resistance toward her Fallen Angel lineage.

Though Gasper possessed a powerful Sacred Gear, his shut-in personality kept him confined.

Koneko herself was a powerful and rare Nekoshou, but she refused to use her full yokai abilities.

Yuuto's Sacred Gear held tremendous potential, but he carried a profound psychological trauma. He became nearly irrational at the mere sight of Holy Swords. Rias even worried he might become a Stray Devil due to his obsession.

"Yes, President." Koneko received Rias's permission and rose to follow Takeyo, though anxiety and shyness colored her usually stoic expression.

At this stage, Takeyo's status in her heart remained below Rias's.

"Now then, Koneko. I remember you mentioned that your sister became a Stray Devil, correct?" Takeyo asked as they walked through the corridor.

"Yes... that's true," Koneko replied, her eyes drifting to the side.

She worried that if the situation had involved Rias instead of Takeyo yesterday, her sister might have severely injured or even killed her precious master.

"Koneko, you should know that I possess the power of revelation."

Takeyo continued his inquiry.

"Yes. Senior Takeyo just mentioned it to Kiba-senpai."

"Then, Koneko, have you ever considered what place you hold in your sister's heart?"

As soon as Takeyo finished speaking, he noticed the exclamation mark appear above Koneko's head, the sign-in notification.

[Ding!]

[Congratulations to the host for triggering a plot sign-in! Sign-in rank: Gold!]

[Sign-in plot: Black Cat and White Cat!]

[A pair of sisters tormented by fate, help them untangle the knots that have bound them for years~]

[Sign-in time limit: 1 month.]

I can sign in now... but it's fine. I'd planned to do this anyway, Takeyo thought, watching Koneko's reaction carefully.

"Sister... she probably loved me very much," Koneko said after a long hesitation.

"Then why would a sister who loves you choose to kill her master? Regardless of whether Kuroka had the opportunity to take you away after killing him, you would inevitably experience tremendous suffering."

"Let me ask you another question, Koneko. Do you believe your sister would endure any hardship herself rather than see you suffer?"

"This... this..." Koneko's voice faltered.

"Sister would probably do that."

After another pause, Koneko spoke with growing uncertainty.

"Then something is very strange. If she obviously could have endured hardship to avoid seeing you suffer, why would she take the risk of causing you pain by killing her master?"

Takeyo naturally knew the truth.

The story Koneko had told before was merely the version she herself believed.

The real version was far darker: the superior Devil of the Naberius family had wanted to conduct experiments on Koneko, intending to force her to bear his offspring.

After learning of her master's depravity, Kuroka had killed him to protect her sister.

"This... I don't know," Koneko said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Takeyo reached out and gently patted her head, much to Koneko's surprise.

Since Koneko's favorability toward him was already quite high, she merely lowered her face, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.

This situation... I really should thank Kuroka for this, Takeyo thought with slight amusement. If she hadn't appeared yesterday and shown such obvious concern for her sister, it would have been much harder to discuss this with Koneko.

"In any case, Koneko, think carefully about what I've said. If you truly want to know the answer, you can come find me anytime. I'll tell you everything."

Takeyo's gentle voice carried a note of finality.

"Yes... thank you, Senpai."

Koneko's soft response was almost inaudible as she bowed slightly, her mind clearly whirling with new thoughts.

As Takeyo turned to leave, he couldn't help but feel satisfied with how things were progressing. The sign-in system had activated, and more importantly, he'd planted the seeds of doubt that would help the sisters eventually reconcile.

Sometimes, the most important revelations weren't the ones handed to you directly, they were the questions that made you seek the truth yourself.

And Koneko was finally ready to start asking those questions.
