Chapter 5 - Reporting to Work

Happiness is so lingering, but also so short-lived!

The weekend passed quickly, and the two spent the whole day together. In the woods behind the mountain, they kissed. Zhang Kai was very natural and enjoyed it, while Liu Meiyu was very nervous and excited.

On Sunday night, after sending Liu Meiyu back to the dormitory, the two were reluctant to leave.

Zhang Kai couldn't help but say, "Don't go back tonight?"

Liu Meiyu blushed and hit Zhang Kai hard several times.

"Oh, you bad guy, what did you say! You're not even married yet, how shameless!"

"Hey, aren't they all together? Look at the couple in Class 5, they've already slept together. Do vou still not believe me?"

"Others are others, I am me, you have to respect me!"

Seeing Zhang Kai's depressed expression, Liu Meiyu said shyly: "Don't worry, it will be yours sooner or later, and you can't run away. At least after graduation, I will listen to you." After that, she ran in.

Oh, in this world, it's so depressing that people still make excuses to sleep with their wives!

After taking a few glances at the girls' dormitory, I had no choice but to go back to my own dormitory.

On Monday morning at seven o'clock, the school gate was full of minibuses. They were organized by the school to take students back to their counties for internships.

Zhang Kai arrived early and found Liu Meiyu and his team's vehicle in Shuanglong County.

I wanted to say a few sweet words, but with classmates everywhere, people in that era were still very reserved. Imagine later generations, where kissing passionately in public is no longer a strange thing.

The two people looked at each other with deep affection and said take care to each other.

At exactly seven o'clock, the car slowly drove away and slowly disappeared from sight.

Zhang Kai felt empty inside, as if he had lost the most precious thing and was very reluctant to let go. He was really afraid that the experiences of the past few days were just a dream.

Director Xue notified us yesterday that we should report to the municipal government office at 8 a.m. The internship will last for 2 months, which is the same as the internship

time of other students at school.

The school is 12 stops away from the city government, and you have to take the bus.

I looked at my clothes and they looked rather shabby. I had only a pair of trousers, a shirt, and a pair of 25-yuan leather shoes. There was no choice. The rest of my clothes were sportswear and school uniforms.

But Zhang washed the clothes clean, hung them neatly, and took care of his personal hygiene. At least he gave people a clean, tidy and neat impression. I hope everything goes well today.

After taking the No. 2 bus, they arrived at the city government gate in less than half an hour. Wang Hongtao walked in with a letter of introduction in his hand, feeling nervous. The guard took a look at the letter of introduction and his student ID and let him in.

In my previous life, I never had the

opportunity to work here. The few times I went in were only for business. The two large lions at the entrance looked so solemn and majestic, and the low-key five-story office building looked so mysterious and desirable.

In this life, I must have a place here!

Zhang roughly knew the location.

He walked to the government office on the third floor and saw 301, which looked like a duty room. He knocked gently on the door and said politely, "Hello, I'm from Yingjiang Normal University and I'm here to report for an internship. Here's my letter of introduction."

The office is very large, more than 30 square meters. Two desks are placed back to back under the window. Two people are busy answering the phone at the desks. It looks like a government duty room and also a

government transit station. Everyone is busy

and no one pays attention to him.

After a while, the man on the left who was on the phone put it down and asked casually, "Ah, you're an intern. Which school are you from? Let me see your letter of introduction."

Wang Hongtao quickly stepped forward and handed over his letter of introduction, saying, "Hello, leader. I'm from Yingjiang Normal University and I'm here to report for my internship today."

"Haha, you're from the Normal University?" Hearing the word "Normal University," the man said with a little enthusiasm, "I don't dare to call you leader. I'm just a private. This is the duty room. Interns come here to report to the leader. Come on, I'll take you there."

After leaving the room, he whispered again, "Little brother, I also graduated from a normal school, from the 1992 general teacher class. My name is Feng Dong. What's your name?"

Wang Hongtao quickly said, "Oh, it's you, Senior Brother. My name is Wang Hongtao. Please take good care of me from now on. I don't know anything."

Yingjiang Normal School is known as the Whampoa Military Academy of Yingjiang. As expected, there are graduates from the school from leaders at all levels to various departments.

"It's okay. We are all alumni. It's only natural. We can reminisce about the past later. I'll take you to the Personnel Department to report. The section chief is Lei Nan. You'll see which department he will assign you to." After saying that, he told Zhang Kai to be polite when meeting the leaders.

"Okay, thanks for the reminder, senior brother!" It's true that it's easier to get things done when you have someone in the court.Zhang Kai quickly said, "Oh, it's you, Senior Brother. My name is Zhang Kai. Please take good care of me from now on. I don't know anything."

Otherwise, for a small intern, even the clerk in the duty room would just tell him to go find so-and-so to report, so why would he take him there personally?

The Personnel Department is also on the 3rd floor, Room 321.

"Bang bang bang" Feng Dong knocked on the door a few times.

A slightly majestic voice came from inside: "Come in."

After the two of them went in, there was a desk at the door and another desk by the window, with one person sitting at each desk. Judging from the layout, the person sitting by the window should be Section Chief Lei.

Feng Dong walked in and said, "Chief Lei, this is an intern from the Normal University.

Here is the application form and letter of introduction. Please take a look."

"Haha, Xiao Feng, I'm your junior fellow apprentice. I remember you also graduated from a normal school. Normal schools produce talented people!"

Section Chief Lei was very friendly. After reviewing the application form, he asked in a friendly manner, ". Xiao Zhang, you've done well in school. You're a student union cadre and the president of the literature club. Tell me, what internship position would you like to pursue? Which department would you like to work for?"

Everyone knows that in recent years, interns from colleges and universities will not stay, so there will be no conflict of interest with their own. Therefore, if you can be a good person, you will never be a bad person.

If you can take care of them, take care of them, and at least keep some friendship.

There was actually a choice? Zhang had been a materials writer in his previous life. He had excellent writing skills, and with decades of foresight, he had a natural grasp of policy and direction. If he could land a position in a materials department, perhaps he could shine during his brief internship and leave a good impression.

After thinking it over, I replied, "Chief Lei, I like writing. Can you arrange for me to study in the corresponding department?"

"Haha, you're ambitious. Honestly, there are very few people who want to write documents on their own initiative, but those who can write major documents are the ones that all departments are vying for. If you're interested, go to Comprehensive Section 3!

Section 3 is primarily responsible for drafting our office's work plans, work summaries,

reporting materials, and documents for key office leaders. They also draft major reports and important documents for the municipal government. If you study hard, these two months will definitely be very fulfilling."

No department would refuse an intern, or at least an errand boy.

Section Chief Lei made another arrangement: "Xiao Feng, take your junior brother to report to Section 3. I'll call them and tell them."

"Okay, Chief Lei."

"Thank you, Chief Lei."

The two men stepped out of the door, and Feng Dong took Zhang Kai directly to the office of the chief of the third department in room 307. Feng Dong said that the office of executive vice mayor Lin Xiangyang was diagonally opposite in room 308, and that room 306 was the office of secretary-general

Guo, who was responsible for coordinating with Mayor Lin. Sure enough, the closer the important departments were to the leaders, the better they could serve the leaders.

The head of Section 3 looked to be under 40 years old, his name was Chen Dong, and he was also very enthusiastic.

Section Chief Chen Dong had already received a call from the Personnel Department. After seeing Zhang, he directly called a correspondent and introduced him: "Xiao Zhang, this is Chen Jun from Section Three. He writes materials and usually serves Secretary-General Lei. You should learn from him. I hope you can be more diligent, abide by discipline, work seriously, and gain something during this two-month internship." After making the arrangements, he asked several people to go to work and lowered their heads to start

revising the materials.

Zhang followed Chen Jun to Office 309 and observed them. There were two desks against each wall, with two other people inside. Chen Jun introduced them to Wang Hongtao: "This one's Zhao Hu, 25 years old, who joined the government office last year; this one's Wang Chenglong, 28 years old. They're both graduates of prestigious universities and regular employees. Learn from them; they're both very good at writing documents."

Zhang quickly greeted them:

"Hello, brothers. I'm Zhang Kai. Please give me your guidance! If you don't mind, feel free to assign me any errands."

Zhang Kai reminded himself to remain humble and cautious at all times. He didn't want to offend anyone during his short internship. He also wanted to get along well with everyone sincerely, as these were all promising talents.

Zhang Kai remembered that Chen Jun had been the mayor's secretary and eventually retired to the position of deputy mayor of Lin City; and Zhao Hu had been the director of the Municipal Transportation Bureau, but was later transferred away and he didn't pay much attention to him afterwards; as for Wang Chenglong, he didn't have a deep impression of him, but he guessed that he was at least at the department level.

Both of them smiled and nodded to Zhang, exchanging a few polite words.

Chen Jun pointed to the empty desk and said, "Xiao Zhang, you'll sit there for the next two months. The section chief probably gave you to me because of this empty desk. The person in that position has gone to the

Municipal Party School for training. By the time he comes back, your internship will be over, so you won't have a chance to meet. Work on the desk and don't touch anything in the drawer."

"Okay, Brother Chen, I understand." After saying that, Zhang Kai went to his seat, feeling a little excited. Although it was a temporary office, it was still a big improvement compared to his previous life.

After sitting for a while, watching others writing and drawing, Zhang felt a little bored, so he stood up and said to Chen Jun, "Brother Chen, what materials do you have? Can I learn from them?"

After listening, Chen Jun took out two folders and handed them over, saying, "Okay, these are some industrial development policies and business-friendly policies issued by the municipal government this year, as well as speeches from several leaders. You should study them."
