Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Unexpected

Aria's heart was racing as she stared at the figure emerging from the shadows. She could sense the tension in the air, the anticipation building up inside her. Asher stepped forward, his eyes fixed on the figure with a mixture of suspicion and hostility.

"Who are you?" Asher asked, his voice firm. The figure didn't respond, instead, it continued to move towards them with a slow and deliberate pace.

Aria's hand instinctively went to her dagger, her mind racing with possibilities. Who was this person? And what did they want? The figure's eyes seemed to be fixed on her, and Aria could feel a shiver run down her spine.

As the figure drew closer, Aria saw that it was a woman with long, flowing hair and piercing green eyes. She was tall and imposing, with a confident air about her. Aria couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as the woman's gaze locked onto hers.

"Ah, Aria," the woman said, her voice husky and confident. "I've been looking for you." Aria's eyes narrowed. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice firm.

The woman smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement. "My name is Lyra," she said. "And I'm here to help you." Aria's eyes locked onto Lyra's, her mind racing with questions.

What did Lyra mean by help? And what did she know about Aria? Asher stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Lyra with suspicion.

"We don't need your help," Asher said, his voice cold. Lyra's smile grew wider, her eyes never leaving Aria's.

"Oh, I think you do," she said. "You see, I know what's going on. I know about the rogue attacks, and I know about the person behind them."

Aria's heart skipped a beat as she heard Lyra's words. She knew that she had to listen to what Lyra had to say, no matter how suspicious she seemed.

"What do you know?" Aria asked, her voice firm. Lyra's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement.

"I know that the person behind the rogue attacks is someone close to you," Lyra said. "Someone you trust." Aria's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities.

Who could it be? And why would they betray her like that? Asher stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Lyra with anger.

"That's enough," Asher said, his voice cold. "We don't know what you're talking about." Lyra's smile grew wider, her eyes never leaving Aria's.

"Oh, I think you do," she said. "And I think you know exactly who I'm talking about." Aria's heart was racing as she stared at Lyra, her mind reeling with questions.

What did Lyra know? And what did she want from Aria? As the tension between them grew thicker, Aria knew that she had to make a decision.

She had to decide whether to trust Lyra or not. And she had to do it fast.

"Let's hear her out," Aria said finally, her voice firm. Asher's eyes locked onto hers, his expression skeptical.

"Aria, I don't think that's a good idea," Asher said. But Aria was resolute. She needed to know what Lyra knew, no matter what it took.

"I'm willing to listen," Aria said, her voice firm. Lyra's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with triumph.

"Excellent," Lyra said. "Let's talk." As Lyra began to speak, Aria felt a sense of trepidation. She knew that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine.

And she was right.

Lyra's words were like a bombshell, shaking Aria's world to its core. Aria's eyes locked onto Lyra's, her mind reeling with questions.

"What do you mean?" Aria asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Lyra's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement.

"I mean that the person behind the rogue attacks is someone you thought you could trust," Lyra said. "Someone who's been playing you all along." Aria's heart was racing as she stared at Lyra, her mind reeling with possibilities.

Who could it be? And why would they betray her like that? As the questions swirled in her mind, Aria knew that she had to find out the truth.

No matter what it took.

Aria's determination grew as she stared at Lyra. She was going to get to the bottom of this, no matter what it took. And she was going to make sure that the person behind the rogue attacks paid for their betrayal.

The game was on.

Aria's eyes locked onto Lyra's, her mind racing with anticipation. "Tell me more," she said, her voice firm.

Lyra's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, Aria," she said. "You have no idea what's coming." As Lyra began to speak, Aria felt a sense of trepidation.

She knew that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't even imagine. And she was right.
