Emily stood at her station, presentation materials compiled, waiting for the final judging to begin. Around her, competitors were in various states of completion some confident, others clearly struggling with failed experiments or incomplete data.
Stephanie sat at Station 63, her equipment cleared away after the electrical fire, her face buried in her hands. She'd been disqualified from this session after the safety incident, though she could still compete in tomorrow's final session.
"Time," Dean Harrison announced. "All competitors, step away from your stations. Judges will now conduct final evaluations and select three presentations for the demonstration round."
The judges moved through the room, examining each station's work. Teacher stopped at Emily's station, studying her setup with professional interest.
