Chapter 4 - chapter 4- First encounter

Putting his shoes on and leaving his house, Kaoru walked in his neighborhood at night, not a single person around. No drunks,no night life, nothing. His neighborhood was a very neat one so no activities at the dark hours of the day.People were sleeping.

Walking through the neighborhood, step by step, Kaoru was hit with a wave of cold wind. The night air was cold and it was freezing outside but since he had worn some warm clothes, this gust of cold wind was nothing short of delightful .The air was clear, cold, and relaxing, the night was the best time of the day. Air untainted by everyday life, quietness of the streets, the hum of neon signs and vending machines echoing in the neighborhood. Night was truly Kaoru's favorite time.

The solace of the night was so comforting to him that, in spite of other kids his age wanting to stay up at night, he had no problem with the outcome of sleep. Infact it became a problem when he had to stay up late.

In simple terms, Kaoru was fond of the nighttime and the reason for that was that the quietness of the night was soothing, especially to him.

Ultimately setting foot outside the store, Kaoru looked in the black vastness of the sky, the moonlight reflected in his face. He turned away from the store and started walking towards his school. He wanted to clear his mind so, what better place than a quiet school with no lights or people nearby?

On the way to the school, he observed the beautiful city at night where everything was filled with the tranquility of the night, as well as the cold but soothing atmosphere of the daek hours. He noticed a car and looking at it for a little, he turned around and continued on his way towards his destination.

At the end, reaching his school was a really easy task since it's not that far away from his house. Kaoru also had decent stamina from as long as he could remember. Although he had stamina, he wasn't really fond of sports. Not that he hated them but didn't really like them either. He was neither good nor bad at them. Average. Or a little above average.

'Must have been all the studying.'

Certainly, his stamina could come from his long hours of studying for most of his life.

The school was a statistically good school. Most Japanese schools were decent so if his school was considered a 'good school' amount other ones, it really said something. Long and magnificent silver gates were Infront of Kaoru and behind them stood a tall building with the colors of black and white on it walls, and stone paths laying down on the entry way. It was an extravagant school.

The reason why Kaoru even got to such a school is pretty obvious – his grades. The excellence of his grades was high so that they allowed a normal person like him into the school.

The neighborhood he was living in was a very safe neighborhood with many people around him being wealthy. But Kaoru was not wealthy so he had to rely on his abilities of studying, and work hard to achieve his dreams.

It's not as if he was poor though, as a matter of fact he was blessed with a very economically stable family. His mother a former detective that was famous for catching many criminals and his father a manager at a certain company and an author in his spare time, they had more than enough money.

He was truly lucky.

Standing across from him, the silver gates of the school he attended were glimmering with moonlight causing a bewitching scene unfold infront of his eyes. He stopped to think for some seconds and then muttered under his breath, not directed at anyone, his voice almost drowned by the night breeze.

"Still beautiful."

Leaving those words to particularly no one, Kaoru climbed on top of the exquisite gates of the school he attended, stopped for a second to watch the elegant scenerg that surrounded him and then proceeded to jump down from the pristine gates.

Looking back at the gates one last time, he hesitated for a little, then with a grim look on his face, he made way towards the immaculate school that was standing Infront of him.

Currently, the time was around 10:37 and Kaoru had to return fast or his father would get suspicious. What's more is that he needed to run back home too. Why did he even come here in the first place? What was even happening to him these past few days? That he did not know.

He left the majestic gates behind and moved towards the pristine school with a hastened walk. After reaching the spot he was aiming for, the school's building that led to the roof, he stared at it for a few seconds and then as he was about to attempt and get on the roof, but stopped.

'What are you doing Kaoru Fujimoto? The school buildings are full of emergency alerts. If I alert one I'm gonna be in deep trouble. Better head home now.'

He turned around and hurried towards the gates. Normal school grounds would be scary at night, right? Well not in this school. Illuminated by the pale moonlight, the dazzling exterior of white stone and marble was shining with an unmatched, white radiance that shone in the darkness of the night. A true sight to behold.

This was one of the most, if not the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. At night, this scene could make your heart skip a beat and take your breath away.

'ughh, whatever I have to get out of here unless I want to get in trouble.'

Which he didn't. Of course and he didn't want to get I trouble, he is a teenager after all. Every human being doesn't want to get in trouble. But the scene was so alluring and gorgeous that he wanted to stay more.

Slapping himself in the face, Kaoru hesitated for a little and then climbed and jumped of the gates. He was now ready to go home. Unfortunately.

The quiet streets wrapped in darkness and the faint lights of the street unable to peirce into that darkness. This scenery made Kaoru calm down. Then checking his phone to see the time he was a little surprised.

'10:45!? This is bad, dad will definitely get suspicious.'

Going on his way to the convenience store, Kaoru started running. But then he saw a silhouette that was walking in the darkness. Was it a person? What were they doing this late at night? Well it didn't matter. He just had to go to the convenience store.

"H... M..."

"Huh?"

Kaoru directed his gaze Infront of himself and saw a student. The student wore a red uniform but it was damaged, scratched and very torn. What could have caused this ?

"Um, excuse me why are you so battered?" Said Kaoru.

"Run away! He is gonna come and we are going to die!"

What was this guy talking about? What he gone mad?

"Em, what ? Who is 'he'?"

"I have no time to waste in this trivial matter. If you don't want to die, RUN!"

This guy looked pretty serious. Was he... Actually telling the truth? No he couldn't be. But suddenly a deep voice centered around Kaoru and the boy.

"I found you. Ahahaha."

"Oh no he found us. Runnnn!"

Kaoru was absolutely shocked by what was happening. We're they pranking him? He really was not in the mood for a prank at 10:47pm. He was not really feeling to laugh. But if what unfolded Infront of him was actually not a lie? He couldn't dismiss that possibility.

"You run I'll distract him." Kaoru said to the student.

"What! You are gonna die. Well atleast I'll live. Thank you for your sacrifice."

'Sacrifice? It's not like something is gonna happen right?'

Answering his thoughts, the sound of slow footsteps echoed in his ears, cutting out his thoughts. They sounded slow and confident.

Then another silhouette came out of the dark. What Kaoru saw made him shiver...
